Comfy and fun!!

Very close to the beach and newly constructed boardwalk leading to cute restaurants. The host was awesome and provided breakfast and good coffee!!

Excellent stay for excellent value.

We booked a stay at one of the Sunrise Inn cottages during our visit to Puerto Armuelles. You can't get any closer to a beach than this--this is oceanfront!. The cottage is perfect for a couple. The continental breakfast is served alfresco at their outdoor kitchen/dining area. There are also comfortable chairs under a large palapa where you can sit, read a book, have a lovely cocktail and watch the ocean waves across the sandy beach. The proprietor, Ron, a very welcoming and charming man, lives on the grounds and is available to provide any information you may need on excursions and restaurants in the town. In fact, there are a couple of great oceanside restaurants within a short walking distance to the Sunrise. You can't beat the value that these cottages provide for oceanfront accommodations including breakfast.

quaint, simple yet all you need.

colorfully painted cabins just the right size. a/c worked great... almost too good. chilled after taking a dip in the cool pool. Friendly staff

mangoes falling from tall tree on roof in middle of the night scared us. fair warning would alleviate some stress. pool could have been clearer but that is always a work in progress in the tropics especially when it rains or is heavily used.

Basic 2 nights stay, no plans to return.

PROS: Breakfast was good. Room was clean, roomy shower, water pressure excellent, plenty of hot water, room had a mini fridge and a kitchen sink.

CONS: Mattress was not firm and not straight, two of us were sinking in/to the middle of it. Also, there is a new boardwalk construction is going on - so the ocean shore appearance is messy because of that. Of course at no fault of the resort but nevertheless. Ah, food in the area was mediocre at best, we tried 2 places and both were bad.

Good value

Quiet. Across road from beach. 3 reasonably good restaurants in 5 minutes walk. Beds comfortable. Fruit at breakfast was good

Unfortunately there is a sewage treatment plant not too far away. Sometimes bad smells arrive when going to beach. Unit could be a bit cleaner but remember ocean areas are hard on facilities.

Quaint cottage feel, surf sounds constantly , especially at breakfast area and pool, less than a mile from town center,restaurants within walking distance, colorful, restful, felt like home, host and owner very helpful and met all requests

Nice comfortable friendly place to stay with a short walk to the beach

it is right across the street from the beach. The owner/manager was pleasant and nice to talk to. Coffee and breakfast in the morning.

Ron is an outstanding host and I definitely will be returning.

The breakfast was outstanding. The fresh fruit And coffee was delicious. The location was perfect. I was able to walk to town each of my four days at the property.

the environment is simply exceptional, really relaxing upfront the beach. you feel like home :) the staff are such welcoming and always attentive at your well being :) puerto armueles is really nice to discover :) during day time, no foreigners in the city wich brings a lot as well :)

Wonderful

Everything was perfect. We loved the homemade banana bread for breakfast do the owners made us a loaf to go home with. It was very touching and a wonderful experience.l

The Best Hosts and a Great Little Inn

This place is a little hidden gem. Nothing fancy but has everything you need. Right on the beach and it even has a little pool. The owners Ron and Michelle are excellent hosts. If you need anything just ask them and they will do whatever they can to help. There is a small communal kitchen by the pool where breakfast is served . All the coffee you ca decent restaurants nearby. Ron suggested a chicken place called Rios(?) (which is basically somebodys house) and for $4US you can get chicken or pork and fries/fried plantains. Best deal in town. We stayed 4 nights and if we ever come back to Puerto Armuelles we would only stay here!

2 day border run .

Beautiful sunrise, the swimming pool . Good breakfast. Ron and Michelle were good hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay which we did .We will be back. Ron takes excellent care of the grounds and beach in front of the hotel.

Availability of quality food within walking distance. Choice of restaurants within walking distance. Garbage pile down the road .

A home at the beach

The rooms are very clean and spacious, mine came with a TV and a small fridge. The common area outside is nice as well to hang out. The beach is right in front and you can hear the waves nicely. The place has a friendly and welcoming vibe. The owner as well as his staff are very helpful and flexible. There's a washing machine and a dryer which you can use. You can also find a small supermarket nearby. The breakfast is simple but good. I would stay here again if I come back some day.

There was nothing negative. I was positively surprised. If you come by public transportation the taxi from the bus station is only 1$.
