The location was superb! We had stayed in this area the previous year and loved the great mix of cafés, restaurants, and pubs. It’s also very easy to get around, either on foot or using the many nearby tram stops.
The apartment itself was lovely, with an amazing little patio overlooking a beautiful canal. The layout was great, and the amount of natural light made the space feel bright and welcoming.
Trini was exceptional with communication before, during, and even after our stay. She went out of her way to ship back an item I accidentally left behind, which I really appreciated.
We didn’t realize that Amsterdam has recently been bringing in more regulations to crack down on short-term rentals and one of the newer rules means there’s no cooktop in the unit, so that caught us a little off guard.
The mattress has also been mentioned in other reviews. For us, it was far too soft, and whenever one person moved, the other felt like they were on a bed of Jell-O. One of us ended up sleeping on the couch instead.
We also happened to be there during one of this summer’s heat waves. It hadn’t occurred to me when I booked in January that air conditioning would be something to consider for an August stay, but the apartment gets very hot even with a fan. The windows don’t have screens, so leaving them open at night meant dealing with insect bites as well as cigarette smoke drifting up from the courtyard in the morning. And other reviews have mentioned noise from the restaurant at the canal (I also come from a big city and my sleep earbuds drown out everything).
Definitely something to keep in mind when booking, particularly during the warmer months.

We loved the homely feel of the apartment, the location was excellent, within walking distance of the centre, Anne Frank house and the museum quarter, the public transport was very close, easy to use and very cheap, there is a small balcony overlooking the canal, the cafe next door was lovely and there was plenty of eateries and take always close by, the bed was a good size and comfy with an en-suite bathroom, a good sized lounge/diner with small balcony and a kitchen area with kettle, toaster, microwave, sink, fridge and coffee machine, Trini the host is lovely and we would stay again if we return to beautiful Amsterdam.
This is not a criticism more of a please be aware, as others have stated the stairs are very steep, 2 flights, however we found them easy enough once we had gotten used to them, I was expecting a cooking plate to make basic snacks but unfortunately rules have changed so this is not available anymore, a couple of small chairs on the balcony would of been nice.
