Beautiful hotel, great staff & good place to relax prior to flying home

Stayed here for two nights prior to flying home. Quite a luxurious hotel, great spacious room with big en-suite bathroom. Deep comfortable mattresses aided fantastic sleep Food and beer good and fairly priced. Amazing staff, particular mention to the receptionist Hiruni Perera, very welcoming, cheery smile, great English language skills and very helpful

Unfortunately the hotel was just about empty, so lacked a bit of atmosphere The pool was out of service while remedial work was carried out to the restaurant roof WiFi very poor, only good around reception area. Not a problem for me, but I know it’s important to some

Next to the airport

If you have 3 kids there isn't anyway you call sleep together so we had to book 2 rooms and split with my husband

good value for the price

Overall, this place could be a good value for the price. Rooms are rather spacious, wifi speed is good, close to the airport (may be 15-20 min taxi ride). I just stayed overnight between flights and didn't explore the area around.

My room didn't have hot water. As my stay was short I didn't try asking staff to fix it. The noise insulation could be better, particularly from a nearby highway. Also, although it is not a problem of the hotel but more of a booking.com issue - the "airport shuttle" feature should be clearly defined as a free shuttle provided by the hotel on a regular basis rather than that they can book a transfer/taxi for you as was in the case here (and such pre-booked transfers seem to be overpriced in Sri Lanka for the distance travelled). But it looks like all hotels near the airport are in the same category regarding airport shuttles.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Amora Lagoon hotel and I must say that it was a great experience. The hotel is small and cozy, but it is well-maintained and the staff is extremely polite and attentive to your needs. One of the best things about the hotel is the affordable price. Despite being a budget-friendly option, the quality of service provided by the staff is top-notch. They were always ready to assist and made us feel very welcome. The only small issue we faced was that upon arrival at our room, it was quite hot and uncomfortable. It would have been nice if the staff had cooled the room before my arrival. However, this was just a minor inconvenience and didn't take away from the overall positive experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the food. The hotel has an excellent restaurant with a wide variety of delicious dishes. The meals were consistently good, and I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients. Furthermore, the hotel's proximity to the airport was a huge plus. It was just a short drive to the airport, which made my departure stress-free. Overall, I highly recommend the Amora Lagoon hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and affordable stay in Katunayake, Sri Lanka. The minor issue i faced was outweighed by the warm hospitality of the staff, the delicious food, and the convenience of the location

This is not a 5-start hotel. 4-start at maximum.

The staff is very polite and helpful.

The room is small and requires some remodeling. The "queen size bed" is just 2 small beds staying together. The pool is quite decorative and it's located almost in the restaurant and the lobby. And - a cherry on top - when you are checking in with the hope to spend a quiet night before your early flight, sometimes you can find a 50-persons wedding just below your balcony. And yes, the hotel also has a big ballroom so you will be hearing all the music until the end of the event.

The rooms weren’t prepared even though we had informed the staff well in advance. the ACs were horrible and the room was like a sauna all night. the room phone wasn’t working and couldn’t even call the reception

One night stay

I liked the hotel's closeness to the airport and the 24hrs services. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable, with an extra bed provided.

I tried and booked a pick-up and drop-off taxi from and to the airport and received messages from the hotel about the confirmation, but no one was waiting for me at the arrival hall.

Warm reception by Miss Hiruni Perera. Restaurant manager was very helpful. Service staff was prompt.

Friendly and polite staff. Good service. Peaceful property. Away from noisy city. Rooms are clean and spacious.
