Boulder Creek Cottage is located in the premiere neighborhood of Fern Valley at 6,000’ in the mountain town of Idyllwild California. We would love to accommodate your stay in our 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath cottage for your Idyllwild experience. Our cottage sleeps 4 to 6 people. King size bed in master BR with large flat-screen HD TV. Queen size bed in guest BR. We also have 2 roll-away beds available for our guests. The log pine interior offers a fully stocked updated kitchen and provides everything you need for the ultimate dinner with friends and family. Private and peaceful, and set up against nothing but trees and large boulders, this wonderful cabin was a perfect retreat to celebrate my birthday with my husband. Leading a hectic life in Orange County. I needed a little getaway to relax not be on the computer and not wrap Christmas gifts. Well, equipped, beautifully maintained and extremely comfortable this cabin is the perfect getaway for 2 to 4 people .

This is the most beautiful cabin for party of 4 , the location, cozy, quite , the most relaxing place that we ever been , we sent some pics to our friends they loved it and started to book this place , more importantly manager was awesome person so respect full and carrying about his guest to be comfortable , so organized with arranging check in process , 100% recommend this property to everyone. Originally planned a two night trip with my teen daughter, but plans changed so it was just me! It was the most relaxing, rejuvenating, peaceful two nights I’ve had in a very long time! The home is at the end of a street, very quiet, beautiful deck to enjoy day and night. The swing at the back of the house was perfect for just listing to the sound of the wind in the trees and the little creek. Loved the word burning fireplace, bed was very comfortable, close to town but far enough away to be tranquil, easy and friendly communication with the host too!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The cabin was cozy, quiet and peaceful, and my kids loved hiking and playing near the little creek. Communication with the owner was outstanding: he was always prompt, courteous and helpful. My kids were in tears about leaving and are already asking about returning. Thank you thank you!!

We wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin was perfect for our family of four. It is clean and cosy and had everything we needed. The lack of a dishwasher was not a problem for a weekend stay. We loved the huge boulders around the cabin and enjoyed watching squirrels and deer. We highly recommend the place!

Easy access and communication with owner. Nice, comfortable A frameish style cabin nestled amongst oaks, pines and the characteristic large granite boulders of Idyllwild. Shady, quiet location near a babbling spring amongst a first of trees. About a 4 minute drive to “downtown”. Has 2 large bedrooms (king and a queen) upstairs and a full bath. Open floor plan with full kitchen that as most amenities anyone would need, except no dishwasher but not a big negative. 1/2 bath and laundry off kitchen. Fireplace is an insert but very cozy with lots of firewood. Large outside deck to watch the big, bushy grey squirrels play and the chick-a-dees fighting over the bird seed. Outside grill and plenty of seating. A very nice accommodation that we would definitely book again.

From booking to check-out the communication was superb. The cabin is beautiful and is exactly as pictured. The cabin is also filled with board games and cards for your family to really relax. Our children loved playing outdoors in the little creek.

Great communication from owner Larry, a well-appointed kitchen, plenty of written instructions on how to use the TV, fireplace, etc., quiet location (yet close to town), non-stop hummingbird action. This was my first trip to Idyllwild and I took my mother who came in from Denver for Mother's Day. We absolutely loved the log cabin which was spacious and so well appointed with everything you could possibly need. Larry was very nice and accommodating and reached out a couple of times to check on us. We loved the location with the ambiance of being out in the woods with the peacefulness and serenity of nature all around us. We walked up to the swing and down to the stream and my mother, 83 yrs old, said it reminded her of her childhood. It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately, my husband came down sick and was not able to share this amazing experience with us.

This place is ideally located at the end of a cul de sac, backed up against the forest and mountains. Fully stocked with everything you need like cooking untensils, board games, firewood, etc. Giant porch with more than enough seating and a large gas grill if you choose to use. Birds, squirrels and chipmunks are continuously around and a nearby stream help remind you where you are. It is also conveniently a quick drive to the town center. Would definitey return to this gem!

We had a great stay at Boulder Creek Cottage, I loved how cozy the cabin was and it was nice and secluded at the end of a cul de sac. The kitchen was well stocked, the heaters worked, and we loved watching all the birds from the front window, especially the hummingbirds. I loved having the swinging chair and creek right out back. It was great being secluded, but still 5 minutes from everything.
We did have a bit of a snafu checking in, the cleaning person had accidentally locked the keys inside, but Larry answered my call right away and called the locksmith. By the time we had finished lunch and did a little shopping downtown, the keys were back in the lockbox. Throughout, Larry kept me updated by text and then made sure to text later that we were able to get in. To me, it was a non-issue, but if Larry’s communication had been poor, I would have been leaving a different review. I was impressed with how quickly it was handled, and accidents happen, so I wouldn’t fault our stay for that.

The property is at the end of the cul-de-sac which makes it feel very private. It's nestled amongst huge boulders, trees and a lovely babbling creek. Upon arrival, we enjoyed the many information sheets which helped us quickly settle in and felt a like a fun little game. The hosts were very reachable and answered our emails and texted very promptly. The house is fully equipped with everything you need. The town of Iddlywild is only a 5-min drive away and it's adorable with all the stores you need to stock up for your stay. We stayed for a week so ventured further afield, Palm Springs is just over an hour away, Joshua Tree National Park is another 30-mins beyond there. San Diego was a bit of a longer drive (2.5 hrs), but we were able to enjoy the mountains, the desert and the ocean all from this central location. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Boulder Creek Cottage in Idyllwild. Totally as advertised on VRBO and all reviews touting the charms of the rental are accurate. Great setting and location. Especially appreciated the communication with the owner which was so clear and detailed. We had a nice surprise on our arrival that the driveway was cleared., which we were a bit worried about since there had been quite a lot of snow before our stay. Such a lovely view from the deck! If you like to cook on your getaway you won’t be disappointed with the fully equipped kitchen. Nevertheless, shout out to the Red Kettle for breakfast which was awesome as usual.
We certainly recommend the cottage and hope to stay again.
