We LOVED it here! We are staying in japan for 3 weeks, going to many places all over the country, and this just blew us away! the scenery, the staff, the attentiveness is 10/10! My husband and I don’t drink alcohol and they didn’t bat an eye, and even gave us special drinks throughout our stay. And I myself have a dairy allergy, and they took amazing care to ensure all meals were safe. We loved it here so much!
it is a little ways to get to.. it took us total 7 hours out of our way on multiple trains and busses in the rain.. but it was well worth it once we got there! :)

The view and friendliness of the staff. They explained the overall experience from dinner and breakfast times to where things were and what can be requested
It wasn’t a downside to us but for some the location can be a bit away from the main area and attractions of Hakone.

Good location, staff friendly
Pictures are not a true representation of the room/hotel and don’t be unlucky and get one of the 2 side rooms otherwise the view is of a fence not like in the pictures the balcony and private bath where moody and the room wasn’t very clean they also seemed to prefer domestic tourists think there are better options close that would be more suited for westerners,
