About this house rental
Located in the lovely, peaceful, patrimonial area of Baia do Canto our adega is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of the ocean, the birds and nature in all her glory! As you look across the channel to the beautiful Sao Jorge you may even see dolphins and the occasional whale spouting. Enjoy your coffee or meal on the balcony or the veranda and watch the local tuna or lobster boats as they go about their age old fishing tradition. You can even buy a fish in the village if you meet the incoming boat and bring it back to grill at the outdoor furno/grilling area in the lower courtyard. Our adega was restored using traditional materials and style and your comfort is assured with the many amenities provided. We are artists and the house has many pieces of our work including the owner/artist's use of drift wood and old wine barrels in some of the furniture and furnishings and other touches found through out the adega. There is swimming, diving, fishing, hiking, bakeries and restaurants with some within walking distance if you prefer. We have an organic vegetable garden and fig trees available for your use when in season. If you prefer one bed we will put the twin beds together making a king size for your comfort. There is also a veranda off the bedroom where a cozy and romantic evening meal while listening to the waves reminds you that Pico truly is paradise!

Enjoy this moment of time with views of the ocean and the rectangular, hand built vineyard plots that represent generations of individual farmers who stacked these stones one by one without mortar. Revel in the eerie delightful sounds of the Cory’s Shearwaters come home each night to nest in the rocky cliffs. Pico has its own pace and this Adega creates a sense of belonging - no matter how far you’ve traveled - because it’s innately Pico.

Absolutely perfect. This cottage is even more beautiful than advertised. A wonderful, quiet getaway in a gorgeous location. Everything you could possibly need is included. We wish we could have stayed longer!

My husband and I spent a week in this lovely cottage/adega by the sea. Enchanting describes it well. In addition to having all the amenities you would need for a very comfortable stay, full kitchen, etc., it is decorated with many of the artist owners pieces of their own work which adds a special touch. The location is absolutely beautiful. From the back of the cottage your view is of a stunning cliff and from the front balcony the view is of the ocean. One of our favorite things to do each morning was to have our breakfast on the balcony while staring out at the sea before going on our daily walk. We also very much enjoyed being allowed to help ourselves to the fresh tomatoes and kale growing in the cottage garden. I could go on. Suffice it to say, the amenities were very good; very clean accommodations; and very friendly and helpful hosts. We will be back in the future, but for a longer period of time. Highly recommend.
