The location is great and within easy walking distance of lots of dining options. The hotel is beautiful with great landscaping and garden sitting areas. The value you get for the price is amazing.
The room had several minor maintenance issues: a missing trim tile over the spa tub, a small amount of mold behind the bathroom door, and minor rip/tear damage to the top of the curtain. I only went to the included breakfast once, and it was very basic.

There was a mustiness in the room that was ever-present. Possibly to its location less than a mile from the ocean. The whirlpool spa was a nice feature that we used. The beds were fine. The missing drawer on the vanity was less so. The location was quiet and the outdoor patio area was nice for afternoon reading. The EV charging station was a big plus and something we look for when we plan our travels. So when we visit friends in Carpinteria again, an EV charger is one of our requirements.

Old and congested both room and office. No protein for breakfast. No decaf coffee. No room coffee.
