Located in Southern Shores, this charming house for $195 per night is a great option for your next break. A beloved Outer Banks rental, Sandcastle is conveniently located in Southern Shores, a short ride to Duck and Kitty Hawk restaurants and shopping. The funky beach decor gives this home a unique feel. On the main floor, there is the living room/ kitchen area with a flat screen TV, 4 bedrooms (2 Queen, 1 Double and 1 with Twins) and 2 baths (tub and shower). On the lower level, there is a den with a futon, flat screen TV, full bathroom with a standup shower (no tub) and a laundry room. The downstairs area is not included in the sleeping space. Separate entrance downstairs. No interior stairwell. Property amenities include CATV, internet access, fireplace, dishwasher, under the house parking, sundeck, enclosed outdoor shower, screened porch and laundry. Sand toys and some beach accessories included. Approximately 240 yards to the beach! NO SMOKING. NO PETS. NO PARTIES. MUST BE 25 YEARS OLD OR OLDER TO RENT. ONLY EIGHT GUESTS PER RESERVATION.

The house is in a convenient location for a family with children with a short walk to the beach. Property was as described. Great value. Easy check in and prompt communication with the property owner. We had an enjoyable trip.

Brought our family of 7 to the OBX for the first time and had a great time. The Sandcastle is a great place for a large group. Plenty of room and short walk to the ocean. Short distance to groceries and quaint little town of Duck. We had everything we needed to have a nice getaway. The owner is very responsive and check-in check-out was easy!

This home is exactly as advertised. Only 270 yards to the beach. Also just a 1 mile walk to the town of Duck. Great central location. Very clean. We loved rhe toys for the kids and the place had everything needed for the beach.

Our family of 6 really enjoyed our stay. Right on the Duck-Southern Shores line, this well-kept vintage house is only a 5-minute walk down the quiet street to the beach. It is also a 6-minute bike ride to Duck’s main area/boardwalk. The house itself was very clean and well-stocked for cooking, playing games/relaxing, and even had beach toys/chairs/etc. It is probably the best value of any place we’ve stayed for our annual OBX trip. I would recommend if you’re looking for a practical beach stay and aren’t concerned with having updated decor.

We had a great time at the property. The location is perfect- just a few steps away from the beach. Also a few minutes' drive to Town of Duck. The kitchen is fully stocked, which was perfect for us as we cook a lot. Hope to be back!

Our family of 4 stayed at this cottage as it was very affordable given its proximity to both the beach (5 min walk down a dead-end street) and downtown Duck (1 mile or 10 min bike-ride.) We LOVED the beach and went every day we were there, so convenient to be a short walk from your house. Outdoor shower was so helpful. Open concept family room and kitchen area was very nice to gather as a family for down-time. Mattresses are a bit on the older end and may need replacing, otherwise it had everything we needed. Thank you!

Fun week on the Outer Banks with family. The spacious property was as described and exceeded our expections. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Southern Shores home. The home was spacious, clean, and equipped with kitchen items so we were able to prepare meals. The home was located only a short walk away from the beach. Best of all, our family was able to relax and enjoy time away from our hectic schedules. We will never forget our time here at the OBX!

We rented The Sandcastle for a group of high school girls and their chaperone to celebrate beach week. The property is set amongst some trees with a shirt walk to the beach. The house is clean and comfortable, with nice spaces for relaxing and a great kitchen for group meals. The location, just south of Duck, is great. I highly recommend this property and would definitely rent it again.

We LOVED staying at the Sandcastle! It was a perfect place! The house is a 3 minute or less walk to the beach. The beach area here isn't super crowded. The house is tucked back off the road and surrounded by trees, making it more private than most OBX houses. Perfect for us yogis! Everything was very clean. You'll find everything you need in the kitchen to prepare your meals and there are puzzles, books, and games available. We brought extra paper products (TP and paper towels) as suggested by someone else. It's about a mile walk or so to Duck, which was totally doable, especially on the lovely walkway there. I would definitely stay here again!

The house is an easy walk to the beach and a short bike ride into Duck. We had a great time. Do remember to bring nicer linens if you want them and beach towels. Walmart is only 15 minutes away and we picked up extra paper items and soap there.

My family /friends stayed at the Sandcastle week of July 16-22. Upon arrival the house was spotless nothing wrong. However the longer we stayed the more we saw wrong. The paint in the one bathroom was falling into the shower, the dishwasher stopped working and flooded the entire kitchen floor. We went out for the day and when we came back the couch was soaked, the ceiling was leaking. We have killed approximately 15 roaches while we were there. This trip should if been stress free, worry free instead it was stressful due to the condition of this house. I've emailed the landlord when we got home over a week ago and still have yet to response to me.. I do NOT recommend this house to anybody unless you don't mind leaking ceilings and paint falling and horrible communication. We will NOT be renting from her ever again!

The property was very nice. The layout was perfect and the house was clean. The air conditioning was a welcome amenity from the hot summer sun. The beach is very close and very nice. Perfect stay!!
