Our family of 6 adults and 2 dogs had a lovely 3 days at this spacious, cozy and comfortable retreat. Beautiful views, stargazing and sharing stories, songs and warm drinks in the ample living space. It was great that we had enough room for everyone to have their privacy for sleeping. The kitchen was well stocked, the decor eclectic and thoughtful, the flannel sheets and towels fluffy and new. Barb was an excellent host with good communication. We will certainly be back. Thank you!

My wife and I have been staying here twice a year for the past 3 years, unintentionally at the same times - late winter/early Spring and late Fall/early winter. This Fall the leaf color was as good as I’ve seen it in years - unparalleled! You’ll love this house as much as we do. It’s fast become a tradition for us to stay here and you’ll see why. The best sunset views, quiet and secluded, lots of beachfront and well appointed. We love the surrounding communities, too. Barb is a pleasure to work with. You won’t be disappointed.

The log home property was perfect for our purposes. Our goal was to relax and celebrate our belated anniversary (with our pups) and this property didn't disappoint. The view of Lake Michigan was amazing from inside the home, on the covered porch, and from the yard. Each morning we had breakfast on the covered porch, which was a lovely was to start the day even in the rain. There were neighbors on one side (closer than I'd expected) but we hardly knew they were there. It didn't distract us or our dogs from relaxing and truly enjoying the property. Each day I enjoyed walking the property, taking in the unique architecture, the beautiful gardens, quiet and calming water feature, and local memorabilia throughout the home. It was a great experience, location, and time of year for us to truly relax and unplug. The log home was well-stocked. I overpack, in preparation for anything and was happy to see there were little things like a can opener, bottle opener, shampoo & conditioner, hair dryer, etc. available. Barb reached out a few times, not in an intrusive way but simply to check on us and make sure all was well and let us know to reach out if we needed anything. This was welcome and a comfort to know she & Bruce were available if needed. We had a fabulous experience and certainly would consider coming back here again, which says a lot as we've never rented the same place twice (just prefer to experience different areas) along the great lakes.

Loved this property the moment I saw the listing. It’s a property I’d love to own. Barb is awesome. The views are spectacular. Comfortable beds. The cabin is old. Which is part of the charm. But super clean, very cozy, well decorated. Roomy. It’s like stepping back in time. Back yard is awesome. Our dogs loved the yard and the beach! Can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I and our 2 sons and spouses stayed at this charming cottage for our annual family vacation. We could not have asked for a better setting for relaxing and reconnecting. The property was as described and exceeded our expectations for extras like towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, life jackets and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beach was spectacular and we had it to ourselves this time of year. Overall a very nice property for a quiet beach vacation. Would recommend.

We just returned home from a week’s stay at this beautiful property. This amazing log house and it’s location represents all of the beauty Michigan has to offer. The house was immaculate. The sunsets right from the backyard are to die for. Every night we made sure we were home to view the sun setting. The beach is perfect. The house is located right on Lake Michigan and the stretch of beach is very quiet. It felt like we had our own private beach the entire week. The house sits on a bluff so there are a lot of steps to get down to the beach, but so worth it!!! The owner, Barb went above and beyond for us. My 16 month old granddaughter was with us, and Barb made sure she had everything she needed and more! We have stayed at a lot of VRBO properties and we have never had one that was so well supplied for us. We had firewood for the fire pit, dishwasher and dish detergent, coffee filters, I could go on and on and on. Barb was an absolute delight to communicate with and responded promptly to any questions we had. Barb and Bruce thank you, we had the most amazing time!!!
