Above average vacation kitchen with nearly all the equipment most cooks could want: coffee grinder, blender, slow cooker, large assortment of utensils and kitchen tools, etc. Nice little sunny back deck for windy days.
FWIW, the VRBO map location is a bit misleading in that we saw the cottage on the beach side of 101, but it is across the road. Beach access is just across 101 and a very short walk south where you will see a path to Yachats Ocean Rd. Very enjoyable and comfortable cottage!

This rental is just outside of Yachats and is lovely space to get away to the ocean. The house was very clean with all the amenities needed to make the stay comfortable from the well stocked kitchen to sand toys and chairs to take to the beach.

Went to the art show, spent quite a bit of time at Neptune playing on the beach and the rocks, walked the 804, went to the Sunday market, hunted for agates. Did not want to leave.

House was clean and orderly and comfortable with most things you would need. Fronts Hwy 101 on the East side so Hwy traffic noise is constant. Ocean view is minimal and short distance (a few blocks) to beach across highway. Pet and musty smells were prevalent. Absolutely no cell phone reception but wifi is available. Basic TV channels only. No sports channels or movie channels.

What a lovely cottage! Everything we needed to cook was in the kitchen. It was very clean, nicely decorated and so cozy. We were able to walk into town and not worry about parking. All in all a beautiful week! Only downside was very few TV channels to choose from.

My friend and I spent four lovely nights in the wonderful cottage, which was totally well stocked with the things we needed. The furnishings were comfortable and very tasteful! I just missed hearing the ocean, but we could see it from the deck and kitchen windows. We were right up against HWY 101, which was a distraction, but workable. We could get to the beach easily. Over all, a great birthday celebration for me!!

My spouse and I went for 5 days. We loved this place. The view of the ocean from the kitchen window is a plus, and it’s only about a 5 minute walk to the shore. Because it’s right on highway 101 it is noisy unless all windows are closed, but the tasteful furnishings are so clean and comfortable and cozy. We would stay there again.

The place is clean and well equipped. Everything was comfortable, the beds, the couch, the bathroom, everything. So easy to get to the beach and to the Hwy heading anywhere. If you are wanting to cook a gourmet meal, bring your own specialty equipment, the kitchen is stocked with basics.

We loved staying at this little cottage. It was very charming, and clean. The beds were comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is a privacy cling on the lower half of the bathroom window. We would totally stay there again!

Lovely home away from home. Very clean and comfortable. We could see the ocean from the kitchen table and the front deck. Cute little fenced in garden and sitting area in the back. Short walk or bikeride across the street into the neighborhood. Tide pools were amazing. Great seafood. Yachats is a cute little coastal town.

We LOVED staying at this little cottage. It was so clean and well stocked with anything you might need. We loved sitting at the table having coffee and looking at the waves.
The front and back porch are both darling and the flowers around the yard are lovely. We loved the town of Yachats too!

This was the perfect place for my family of four and our dog. The kids each got their own twin bed, and the backyard is completely fenced so our dog had a safe space to play outside. Dog toys are even provided! Everything was clean and well-maintained. I loved sipping my coffee on the deck every morning while watching the waves break. We would love to come back again.

Clean and comfortable. Great kitchen that was well stocked with essentials and utensils. Our family(dogs included) loved it. It felt comfortable enough that we were sad to leave. If you’re thinking of booking this house just do it, you will not regret it. Only downside to some is no cell phone service, but it was actually great being out of touch for us.

Great stay at garden cottage by the sea
We had a great stay. The house was clean and well equipped beyond our expectations. The kitchen had everything we could want and more! The access to the sea is across the street. Access there is kind of rocky and hard for those with bad knees to get down to the sand but we found other access points. Our dog really enjoyed running on the beach and also the fenced backyard. We enjoyed the flowers and the decks both back and front. We went on a charter fishing out of Newport, visited the Aquarium in Newport and the visitor center in Waldport was interesting too with nice chatty volunteers and exhibits on the history of the area. A great place to stay to enjoy the area.

My Wife and I have now visited the "Garden Cottage" and we love it more every time. The owners have done an amazing job of setting up this house for full functionality for visitors. Yachats and the surrounding towns are so much fun to visit. This year I decided to go to Newport and do some Halibut fishing. I'm coming home with more wonderful memories of the Oregon coast and a freezer full of fish!

The house had everything we needed to enjoy our annual Yachats vacation. My only suggestions are: (1) provide instructions for using the shower. The mechanism for switching from faucet to shower head is unusual and took us a bit to figure out. And (2) provide a larger outside garbage can. It was almost completely full when we arrived. These are quibbles. We were otherwise delighted with the house...particularly the nice, big kitchen.

Peter is wonderful and really cares about his customers more than anyone that I know. We had a great time this past week and we look forward to coming back again as soon as we can. Great home! Perfect size for 3 of us and our two dogs. The yard was great and safe to just let our dogs out. The beds were extremely comfortable. The living room furniture was also extremely comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and was very well maintained - the knives were sharp, the pans basically brand new, nice dishes! Honestly, everything. There was a baby gate in the garage we used to block off the porch and let our dogs just lay out there. The only one draw back we had with the house was the exhaust fan on the stove could use some attention. Anything we cooked set the smoke alarm off - bacon, a pork chop, sausages, etc. The dogs and our son were slightly traumatized by the number of times we set it off.
Local food recommendations - The Drift Inn was great. We also liked Luna Sea. Great little town. We absolutely loved it there.
We'll definitely be back - and would absolutely stay here again.

This little cottage is the best rental in Yachats! Very easy to locate, off Hwy 101, and right across the road from the path to the beach. The place was very clean, with cute decorations everywhere, and comfortable beds and bedding. Plush towels in the bathroom, great water pressure in the shower. I loved the shower head so much, I took a picture so I can buy one for my own home. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook a great meal. The dining area is next to a huge bay window, where we sat and enjoyed the ocean while eating and playing games at the table. The living room has two comfy chairs, and a comfy couch, as well as a wall of windows. A fenced in back yard with a deck, made it easy to let the dog out without any worries of escape. Very cute back yard, with lots of beautiful plants and flowers, as well as the front yard. I can see why they call this the Garden Cottage (By the Sea). The owners have done a wonderful job taking care of both the inside and outside of this little gem. We enjoyed our three night stay and didn't want to leave. The local clam chowder at Luna Sea was amazing, and the crab cake dinner at The Drift Inn was also top notch. Don't forget to visit all the galleries here, go wine tasting at Daisy Wine Tasting, hike the 804 trail, and grab a double-scoop of ice-cream at Toppers, too. I hope the cottage will be available for our next vacation in Yachats.

Everything was clean neat and orderly. Couldn't quite figure out the bear lock on the garbage can (I had never seen one) but Ocean Odyssey called me right back and walked me through unlocking it. I love the little private pocket garden in the back. It is ideal for a dog owner -- if your pooch has a call of nature in the middle of the night, you simply slide the glass door in bedroom open and its totally secure and safe. Walking to the beach is a snap -- you simply go up a few hundred feet on Highway 101 cross the highway and turn down a residential street. There is a small public footpath that takes you right to Yachats Ocean Road. I would recommend a little better directions in finding the place. Just state that it is a few hundred feet on the opposite side of the Yachats Inn.
