About this condo rental
Situated in Seal Harbor, this charming condo for $338 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This charming modern flat is close to the high energy bustle of Bar Harbor ( 15 minutes by car ) and the quiet solitude of sandy beaches (a walkable 1/3 mile away) and wood hikes (nearest carriage road is 1 mile away ) Entrance to Acadia National Park is one mile away, and Jordan Pond is less than 2 miles away. The beautiful and scenic Little Long Pond is 1 mile away. Blue Lobster was built in 2017. It sits on the ground level of a 1920's bungalow. There is an abundance of natural light. The owners (my husband and I) live one floor above. And while you may hear our foot steps at times, your privacy is assured, and neither of us are bothered by children's natural boisterous play. Blue Lobster has its own private entrance off a classic pea gravel patio. The flat has a propane gas fireplace in the living room, central heating and air, and a shiny new kitchen and bath. Stainless appliances include a Smeg range and Bosch dishwasher and refrigerator. A new Restoration Hardware couch and reclaimed mid-century chairs define the cozy living room. A large desk has USB enhanced plugs and a child-friendly art making space. Wifi is available and Cable tv is in place. Dining is done at a counter height island or outside on the ipe built deck with large teak dining table and propane grill in the backyard. There are two Bedrooms , one with a queen mattress, the other with two twins. Bed Mattresses are by Lull, and made of premium gel-infused memory foam. Airy open closets are included in both bedrooms. The bath has a large shower with a rainfall shower head and a second hand held hand shower head. A new washer/dryer combo is located in the bath. Plenty of new soft bath towels are available, as well as beach towels Beach chairs are available to use. No smoking or pets allowed.

Blue Lobster Flat is an ideal place to stay for exploring Acadia National Park. The location is perfect - not too far from anywhere on the island, just far enough from the hubbub of Bar Harbor. The unit is immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortably furnished. In person it is larger and even nicer than the photos in the listing. The private yard and outdoor seating area are lovely. Kate has installed many thoughtful touches that are often absent in vacation rentals - things like wall hooks in each room, drawers and hangers to help keep your belongings organized, bedside lighting, shelf space, books, maps, even art supplies for children. The kitchen is outfitted with plenty of dishes, pots, pans and utensils. Tea bags, coffee, and hot chocolate are an added bonus. The fresh blueberry pie waiting for us on the counter was a delightful surprise. Kate is an excellent host for an outstanding accommodation. Very highly recommended.

From the minute we walked in till the time we left it was a positive stay.. The blue lobster was so clean so newly renovated very very comfortable and the house could not of been more accommodating….Kate had all the touches of home … everything you needed was there…

A serene getaway/Outstanding hosts
Our stay at the Blue Lobster was absolutely perfect! The property is a gem, tucked away on a beautiful part of the island. Bat Harbor was very accessible but far enough away that you felt the natural peace of being in this area. Kate is also an amazing host! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Great Apartment!
We were two couples traveling together. The apartment was in Seal Harbor so we had great access to Acadia National Park and the Loop Road without fighting the crowds of Bar Harbor. The apartment was immaculate and very well finished. The walk in shower was heavenly! Can't wait to come again.

A Cozy, Contemporary Gem in Seal Harbor
My husband and I stayed for just under a week at the Blue Lobster, and I can't recommend this delightful place highly enough. It's a great location, especially if you want to be a little away from town, right near the water and Acadia. Kate and Blake are super hosts--so kind, thoughtful, and genuinely interested in making your stay exactly what you want it to be--relaxing and fun. Their recommendations for hikes and food were terrific.
The place itself is new, contemporary, private, and so, so cozy. My husband and I totally loved the design and layout, and really enjoyed our time there. The bed (we only used one of the bedrooms) is really comfortable, the common space, open yet cozy, and you have everything you need. Love this place and would absolutely come back!

Perfect home base for family vacation
We had a perfect family vacation on MDI and loved staying at the Blue Lobster. The apartment had everything we (2 adults, 2 kids under 10) could possibly need and is located exactly where we wanted to be - easy access to the beach, carriage roads, trails, etc. It is very comfortable and sparkling clean - the ideal "home base" for all our activities. We looked forward to cooking dinner (in the kitchen or on the grill!) and hanging out on the deck at the end of busy days. Kate and Blake were so welcoming and thoughtful, especially with the kids. They were generous with recommendations about new places to check out. None of us wanted to leave and we will certainly be back. Thank you!

Great Family Rental House!
Location
Seal Harbor is just outside Acadia and the house is minutes away from the Park Loop Road and 15 minutes from Bar Harbor. If you're looking to get away from the crowds and have a quieter experience, this is the spot! Just a short walk down the road is a cute little coffee shop, an amazing bookstore called the Naturalist Notebook (check it out!), and Seal Harbor beach. We loved walking down to the beach from our house in the afternoon for some quiet beach time. It's a 20 minute drive to Cadillac Mountain from the house and a 10 minute drive to Jordan Pond House. A great location that's nice, quiet, and cozy.
House
The rental portion of the house is essentially in the basement, but it is so much more than a basement apartment. There is wonderful light in the morning and the furnishings are top notch. You get your own private driveway and two French doors invite you into the kitchen area. The kitchen is well stocked for most vacation cooking needs and the kitchen island has plenty of room for prep and dining for 4. You can hear the owners walking around upstairs, but at no point was this a problem.
The living room area and cute and cozy. There's a gas fireplace on the wall; we fired it up every morning and evening since the weather was cool. There's a nice desk area stocked with paper, crayons, and colored pencils; our daughter enjoyed that a lot. Next to the desk is a wall painted with chalkboard paint. The owners listed favorite hikes, restaurants, and activities there. There were several hiking/guide books available for use. We found the kids hiking book very useful.
The bedrooms and bathroom were well furnished and cozy. The mattresses seem new and felt great! There's good storage for clothing and bags in each bedroom so we never felt cramped. The bathroom has a wonderful stall shower, a small efficiency-sized washer dryer and plenty of counter space for all our toiletries.
Hosts
Kate and Blake live upstairs on the main floor. They were there at check in and check out and provided excellent activity advice throughout the week. They were there if we needed them and not if we didn't. They definitely gave us our space. They are lovely people and we would not hesitate to stay here again. It's a great house for families planning an extended stay on the island. They provided a fresh wild blueberry pie from a local bakery for us upon arrival and Kate stopped by with some fresh cookies later in the week as well. They were perfect hosts!

Fabulous vacation!
I would highly recommend this rental for a stay in Bar Harbor and Acadia. It’s situated in a quiet spot just 7 miles south of Bar Harbor with easy access to the park and a half mile walk to a small beach. No traffic. No parking hassles. The apartment is lovely, clean and so comfortable. It was a bit of a splurge but worth every penny. We would come back in a heartbeat. Thanks to Kate and Blake for a fantastic vacation!

Simply the BEST
My wife and I have stayed in many VRBO properties, but this one was right at the top. Everything about this rental was supreme. The location for our treks to Acadia NP couldn’t have been better. The comfort and feel of the Blue Lobster was phenomenal; a wonderful space to plop down after a full day of hiking and sightseeing. Our hosts were very helpful and so friendly. We are already looking forward to coming back

Perfect in every way.
Everything about our stay was fabulous. The space has its own entrance, it is clean, and the beds are super comfy.
Kate & Blake thought of every need when they stock the place for guests. Laundry pods for the washer, first aid kit, maps of the surrounding area, board games, blender, and plenty of kitchen supplies.
Location is ideal. Ten minutes outside of Bar Harbor. Thirty minutes to Southwest Harbor.
We hope to be back here again to enjoy our evenings by the gas fire place!

Comfortable and quiet stay in a cozy home
We loved our stay at the Blue Lobster and would definitely return. Friendly renters, clean, beautifully decorated and supplied with everything you would ever need. The photos show it all. The hosts were built in concierges so we knew all the good hikes, walks, eateries, etc. We loved peaceful Seal Harbor and Mt Desert Island.

The Blue Lobster was a perfect place to stay for our visit to Acadia National Park. The apartment had EVERYTHING we needed....plus more! Great set up that lacked nothing, the attention to detail was amazing. We enjoyed using the full kitchen, we ate breakfast outside every morning, visited a bit with the hosts and received recommendations for dinners; we even did a load of laundry to save time when we returned home. The apartment was fully stocked, VERY clean; it was wonderful in all ways!

Great location. Friendly owners. Very comfortable accomodations. Everything you need for a wonderful stay on Mt. Desert Island. Immaculately clean and well appointed. Kate stopped down briefly when we arrived to welcome us and answer any questions we might have had. Additonally, a binder with all pertinant information regarding the operation of the ventilation, fireplace, TV, etc. was available for our reference. Also lots of information about local eateries and activities. The only room for improvement was that the hot water in the shower could have been a bit hotter (just my personal preference, though). We had a small plumbing mishap and Kate and Blake came down immediately and we were up and running in no time. Thank you Kate and Blake for everything!

Beautifully maintained, excellent location, kind hosts
This place was so gorgeously decorated, very clean (spotless!), and the hosts, Kate and Blake, thought of every possible need (including cookies mid-week!). We were so grateful for the location in Seal Harbor - the proximity to the park was key for our hiking, biking and drives into Acadia. The beds were very comfortable and we couldn’t have been happier overall. We highly recommend a stay at the Blue Lobster.
