Overall, we throughly enjoyed our stay at the Jordan Cottage. This was our first trip to MDI and not out last. The cottage’s location was ideal for us being that we brought our bikes to ride the carriage trails. The central location made it ideal to navigate around the island. Negatives about the cottage would be: 1. No blinds at the windows on the lower level. There are neighbors next door who could see in at night. 2. No television- knew this going in. But feel like we are all adults and can turn on and off the tv when we desire. 3. The bathroom sink is way too small - especially with the faucet that is too big for the sink. 4. The black makeup towels are very hard to use on your face. Not absorbent. 5. Very loud squeaking front door. My husband, being the Mr Fix It that he is, fixed the problem!! He also washed the dirty glass hurricane globe to the light fixture over the kitchen table. Took it down and washed it!! You are welcome.

The property was clean, warm, inviting and full of natural light and space. There was no unnecessary clutter yet the manager did leave plenty of information including guide books and recipe books in the kitchen. We especially loved the handmade Jordan Cottage book with all the suggestions and stories about the area. Far enough from the town you felt like you were in your own woodsy cabin yet close enough for any creature comforts you would need! We went in the off season looking to just unplug and the cottage and location allowed for that to the letter. Great for out doorsy folk and those looking to just say inside and snuggle with a book. Tons of hidden gems to discover in the town and perfect home to come back to at night.

This is the second time we stayed here. We loved the access to nature and the proximity to friends we were visiting. It was such a perk to be able to go to the beach which is a 1 minute drive. Visiting in the winter months there was no traffic or tourists and many of the Bar Harbor restaurants were closed, but it didn’t matter. It was still beautiful and serene and we kind of liked it like that.

Less busy, more tranquil cottage and a short drive from everything. Host, Jen, has great communication and provided many suggestions on everything (food, places of interest, activities) along with a few treats. Enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful week at Jordan Cottage. The cottage was exactly as shown in listing with lots of extra welcoming touches. The location is amazing for seeing Acadia and other parts of the island. The hosts left thoughtful and detailed recommendations that were terrific!

My daughter and I, avid cyclists and hikers, stopped briefly in Bar and Seal Harbor on route to Rumford, Maine for medical work. We were blessed to have two nights in this tasteful, quiet, serene shingled cottage, where all the amenities of home with proximity to the sea where available to us. Despite the rain we took on the mountains and the roadways to soak in the beauty that is the area. We highly recommend this sweet cottage.
