About this cottage rental
The Skagit river in the front yard, this house is an ideal home base from which to explore the area or just stay put. You can take a day hiking trip in majestic mountains and come 'home' to sleep in a comfy bed instead of a tent! There are several dams to visit nearby and the historic town of Concrete is fun to explore and nearby. This is also the perfect place to just relax on the deck enjoying a lovely view of the Skagit River or roast marshmallows at the fire pit next to the river. The large sandy beach at the community park is within walking distance and a must see with beautiful vistas. Bring your camera and your fishing pole! Come in the winter to see the eagles or in the summer to explore the North Cascades! The neighborhood is a mixed use community, full time residential and camping or vacation properties.

In December of 2025, the Skagit River hit a high level of 41 feet. At this height, the river left a lot of silt in the yard and even some parts of the road into the community of Cape Horn. I have been keeping an eye on the yard and cleaning it up as much as possible. The grass in the yard is starting to recover although it is sparse. Please check the weather for Concrete, WA and pack your clothing with that in mind. Bring your boots!
Security Cameras have been installed and are pointed at the river, catching the fire pit and the side yard, catching the driveway and front steps. The images of these cameras are only for the owners use in viewing the river levels and are not on a open website.

Nothing but good to say about this property! We were a little concerned driving through the neighborhood but once we arrived all concerns evaporated! We loved every minute and the yard and river were lovely. Home was comfortable and host was available to lovely to converse with! We are thankful!

We had a great time at this river cottage. We used the location mainly to tour North Cascades National park and Baker Mountain. It was a great location to come back to from a day of hiking and relax.

Mallory Cottage has a beautiful view and access to the Skagit River. The cute cottage is well maintained and fully equipped! It has two full bedrooms complete with extra bedding and storage areas. All the rooms are spacious with well-preserved vintage furniture. Everything is clean and in working order. Our host, Robin, responds to questions immediately and is very helpful.
