Located exactly one mile from downtown Mount Dora - and around 7 minutes by car from Renningers Antique and Flea Market. Fully furnished 1 Bedroom cottage adjacent to our home. Full kitchen including: refrigerator with ice maker, stove, microwave, coffee maker and access to outdoor grill. Flat screen TV with Cable and wireless internet. Plenty of books to read, games and cards to play. Recently renovated bathroom with walk-in shower and upgraded fixtures. Private bedroom with comfortable queen bed - sleeps 2. Dining room seats 6, as well as small kitchen table for 2 - either one perfect for games or dining!

We were in Mt Dora for a long weekend visiting family, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! SO much more comfy and cost-effective than a hotel!! Our hosts left us welcome treats, and communication with them was easy and fast. We very much recommend High Hedges.

Barbara and Mace are perfect hosts. They go to great lengths to provide privacy and make you feel like a welcome guest in their home. Parking and check in instructions are clear and easy to follow and the cottage is clean, comfortable and thoughtfully stocked. When rain caused us to change our plans, we were very comfortable just hanging out at the cottage one day of our stay. The location worked well for us - just a short drive to downtown Mt Dora and easy access to the highway to visit family in the Eustis area. This was our first visit to Mt Dora and we hope to return in the near future.

We stayed from a Saturday to the following Tuesday, and were not there much as we have family living nearby. The cottage was hot when we arrived all window coverings closed so a little dark and not very welcoming. We opened the blind on the living room window and found a dead gecko on the window sill. Cleaned the window sill and threw out the gecko.

The cottage is very nice for 1 or 2 people. Very clean, we had everything we needed. I would suggest that there should be more than 1 towel per person. Overall we would stay here again it has a nice patio to sit out and enjoy the outside. The lake is very close if you like to walk. Town is about a mile from cottage.

It was a roomy and well cared for place to live. We enjoyed just relaxing on the porch with all the trees and greenery. The facilities were working well and it was very cozy and comfortable.

This was hands down the best stocked vacation rental I have stayed in…and it makes a difference that it is move in ready. Clean and exactly as described. Everything about this place was easy. Would stay here again for sure.

Well equipped for long stays. Private setting in a 1950's cottage and very safe residential neighborhood. This modest cottage is near many million dollar estates. We spent leisurely mornings with coffee listening to the birds on the private deck. Convenient walking path around beautiful Lake Gertrude.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this property. It is a block from Lake Gertrude for sunset walks. It is 5 minutes to downtown Mt Dora. Barbara is a delight to work with. The property was comfortable with all the things you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We will be back!

Thank you for a lovely vacation home! This was the most complete kitchen we have stayed in. The furniture is comfortable with an outdoor table and chairs to enjoy a meal outdoors. The neighborhood is quiet, close to a lake and a wonderful place to walk. Lovely.

Came to Mt Dora to unwind and this cottage was the perfect place. It was close enough to town yet nestled in a neighborhood on the beautiful Lake Gertrude. Clean and comfy and very accommodating hosts!

This property is even better than described — super clean, spacious, a great location, and fully stocked with everything you need. We were in the area for a short time to watch our son golf in the NCAA Division III golf championships. If we need to travel to central Florida again, we will surely stay here! - Laurie and Doug
