About this cabin rental
Nestled in Michigan, this lovely cabin for $175 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Getaway to Northern Michigan! Although this 1 bedroom (queen bed plus a sofa bed in the living room) A-frame for up to 4 people is in a wooded setting you are minutes away from Lake Bellaire, Torch Lake and Clam Lake. The quaint little villages of Bellaire and Alden are within 10 minutes. Everything you need including a washer and dryer are located on 1 floor with no steps. Central air conditioning, heat and a gas fireplace guarantees comfort always. A lovely deck with furniture and a gas grill await you. There is a fire pit along with free firewood to enjoy the evening with some smores. A short walk on a boardwalk will lead you to a dock on Grass River where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book a relax. There is a canoe for you to enjoy at the river. Enjoy watching wildlife, passing boats, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, relaxing, taking pictures, picnicking, and reading on chairs provided. The 1 bedroom A-frame includes a bathroom with a shower only. All you need to bring is food, toiletries and clothing. everything else is provided (linens, dishes, pots/pans, all kitchen needs, towels, etc..) A flat ROKU TV and wifi are included with this getaway. A quiet winding paved road allows for safe walking and bike riding. This location is ideal for canoeing and kayaking as water access is within 5 minutes. 5 minutes away is Glacial Hills - 31 miles of hiking and biking. Fat tire bikes and kayaks are available for rent at Paddles and Pedals. Area activities include downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, morel mushroom hunting, golfing, swimming, boating, scenic drives, photography opportunities, antique shops, restaurants, brewery, unique shopping, consignment shops, day trips, local festivals and much, much more! Day trips could include: Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, Traverse City, Leelanau Peninsula, Old Mission Peninsula (wine tours/tasting), Hartwick Pines, Lake Michigan towns (Elk Rapids Charlevoix, Petoskey), state and township parks, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island and Grass River Natural Area. Short's Brewery in downtown Bellaire attracts thousands annually. Shanty Creek and Schuss Mountain provide visitors with skiing, golfing, and other activities. Boats, jet skis, canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and other outdoor activity equipment are available to rent in the area. Fishing is a popular activity with licenses, bait, and equipment available locally. There are many scenic drives you can take to explore the area. There are too many golf courses in the area to list! You can be as private as you want to be or as social as you choose with this rental. *If you have more than 2 people (up to 4 total) the cost is $25 per person/per night for guests 3 and 4.

The two of us just wanted a little New Years getaway, and this cabin in the woods was perfect for us! Adorable property, and appointed perfectly for everything we needed. We used the firepit both nights, and used the grill/kitchen each day. The area is beautiful, and we took advantage of being up north - in all it hs to offer!!

We loved every minute of our stay. When we first got there we saw a buck in the yard! The house is simple and quiet. The short walk to the dock is worth it. We walked to the dock at 1 am and we saw the stars light up and we could see them reflecting in the river! It was incredible. We took a drive around Torch Lake, but we actually preferred the cabin! We would come back again and again.

The home is really cozy. Its settled in the woods with the river right thru the back yard. Plenty of things to do withing an hours drive in any direction.

This cottage is beautiful. The place was very clean. Kristi, the owner, is very prompt in reaching out and she is very helpful with suggestions about things to do around the area. The location is about 10 minutes from downtown Bellaire which is a charming town.
The back deck is a great spot to observe deer and other wildlife. The river is a 5 minute walk and everything is as described. Next time we will have take the canoe out.

Another amazing stay at the cottage. Everything was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The cottage has anything you need from the fully-equipped kitchen to the chairs down by the river. The only disappointment was that we had to leave! We will be back! 😁

We enjoyed this A frame tucked away in the woods for a weekend. Loved how the kitchen had additional information like emergency contacts, near by hospital addresses, local plants to avoid contact with and an image of them. The fire pit was amazing to enjoy at night with free wood near by. The patio in the morning was the perfect place to enjoy seeing deer and watching animals forest in the woods. The only things that could have improved our stay would have been newer chairs by the dock that were more stable, a cutting board, light bulbs in all the lamps and some complementary soap/shampoo. The place was very clean. The host very responsive. I would go back again in a heart beat!

Overall our experience at this VRBO was great. It’s a nice sized cabin, has a short walk to a beautiful river and is quiet and secluded. The owner was quick to respond when needed and we had no issues at all. There are a ton of deer in the area along with other little wildlife so be cautious if out and about at night. I’d definitely stay at this cabin again.

We absolutely loved this cottage. Close to the chain of lakes. Short walk to a dock on the Grass River where we could watch boaters go through. Near boat rentals and Lake Bellaire and Torch Lake. Quiet and close to everyone we were in town visiting! We will definitely be coming back

The property was perfect! It was exactly what we wanted for our anniversary. Our only complaint was the people staying in a house next door were sometimes loud, but this is not the owner's fault and is probably not a regular issue. In general we had plenty of privacy and were able to enjoy some peace and quiet. We would definitely be open to staying here again.

This little cabin in the woods is the perfect place to get away and recharge your batteries. The cabin is immaculately clean and stocked with everything you could need. We only had to bring groceries everything else was available. It has a a nice dock with a canoe that only a 5 min walk through a path in the woods. They also have fishing poles and firewood for the fire pit.

This cabin was perfect for our stay in Bellaire. Glacial hills is just a 10 min drive away. The Grass River is a nice boardwalk through the woods. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed to eat in. The host was easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Property was more cluttered and dated then Youtube video or listing. Dishwasher was broken ( not a big deal & mentioned), but it made a continuous "morse code" 24-7 which was not pleasant or stated when told it was broken. There was also a very notable mold smell throughout the entire property. Cable wires unattached and coming from the floor as well as the fireplace had no remote and the module for turning it on/off was hanging out of it randomly. The closet ceiling wasn't finished and the whole thing was clearly not built/remodeled by a pro. Wouldn't recommend.

Where to start such a cute little cabin. The board walk was amazing. First day so many deer. Lots of snow. We did go for a kayak ride on the river. It was beautiful snow and all. 20 stars for this place and secluded location.

We loved this cozy little cabin!! The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had a smooth getaway! This is perfect for couples looking to relax and unwind, yet there’s also so much to do in the area such as hiking, biking, restaurants, shopping, wine tasting… My only complaint is that 2 nights was not enough, we wish we had booked at least 1 more night!!

Such an incredible stay at the Poels' cabin. The perfect little getaway in Northern Michigan - it has everything one can want, easy access to the lake, gorgeous views and a super cozy, clean cabin. My husband and I traveled without our son for this first time since he was born. He will be 9 in 2 months. Our son has special needs and requires special care, so we just hadn’t been able to get away. The cabin was perfect. The little town about 5 minutes away is adorable. We so enjoyed being outside in nature enjoying a campfire, walk to the river, and observing all that nature had to offer. Highly recommend this place. Wonderful house and superb owners. We will be back!!!

You’ll want for nothing here. It’s an absolutely delightful setting and the cabin has every reasonable amenity one could hope for. I highly recommend taking your coffee or tea with you down to the river in the morning.

The cabin is beautiful and well- maintained. Just a little off the road, this is an idyllic setting of forest, very close lake, and river. We enjoyed several day trips including Mackinac Island and Petoskey. We will definitely be back again !

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kristi’s quaint Aframe in the woods. We walked to the dock, star gazed, sat by the bonfire and biked the surrounding area. Beautiful place!

Cute and well appointed cabin
My wife and I spent two night here. Everything was in great condition. The listing well represented the cabin. The bed was very comfortable, the driveway was big enough to park my 22ft boat. Kristi was an excellent communicator. We didn’t use the dock and canoe but we did walk down and check it out. It would have been a great feature if I didn’t take my boat. The cabin is convenient to a couple towns and a boat launch. I would definitely stay there again.

A perfect getaway
This cabin was so beautiful and peaceful with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The river access was a huge bonus and we took the canoe out regularly during our visit. The cabin was not hard to find and it was an easy drive to local shops and things to do. I would love to come back soon.
