Pros: Cabin was nice with plenty of space, good location! All of the basics were there in the kitchen. Enjoyed the hot tub and gas grill worked great. Really enjoyed the pool table and spending time on the decks in rocking chairs. CONS: We were terribly disappointed that there were zero Christmas decorations up. Weve been coming in Dec for years and this was the first cabin we’ve stayed at with nothing. I bought 6 movies for us to watch and they were blue ray because the cabin listed blue ray players but every player in the cabin was basic dvd so we couldn’t watch them nor could we get the big screen tv upstairs to work. We didn’t call because not a reason to send someone out on Christmas to service. Only other issue was dish washer. We ran it twice and dishes weren’t clean. It’s just time for it to be replaced I think.

Cabin is nice. Location is great in regards to proximity to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville. The house is in a steep hillside so caution needed with children. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin upon arrival. Visibly dirty floors, dog food from previous guest in most rooms. Sheets in one bedroom did not appear to have been recently washed or had dirt from washer/dryer still on them. I understand this is a pet friendly cabin but for the price we hoped for more attention to detail when it came to cleaning of obvious dirt/food on floors. The resort staff is very kind and did call to check in.

My husband and I took my dad to the mountains in Gatlinburg. This cabin was a great choice. We had so much room and plenty of outdoor spaces.The Elk Springs Resort team communicated very well! One thing was I read there was a screened in porch and I searched for it. Other than that,it was perfection and we will return soon.

The cabin was just "ok". We have stayed with Elk Springs before and the experience was amazing. This time around was a bit disappointing. The cabin was not properly cleaned prior to our arrival. The floors were dirty, as in, dirt and other debris sticking to our feet dirty (this was primarily in the bedrooms). We also found food still stuck to the counters and bar area, a used wash rag was found hanging on the shower rod, several long hairs (abnormal amounts) were found in the shower stuck to the walls,, and the beds had dirt and hair on the sheets. After contacting Elk Springs, housekeeping came out and switched out the sheets after our first night. We cleaned most of the other issues, but did notify Elk Springs about them. They offered to clean up the missed areas, but we declined as we were on a busy schedule and did not want to wait around for someone to show up and clean the cabin. The appliances have also seen better days. The dryer would not initially work, but after contacting Elk Springs, they sent out a maintenance tech and he fixed the issue fairly quickly. The hot tub was low on water, the water smelt bad(not typical chemical smell), and debris was floating in the water. I will say that the customer service portion of their business did a good job, but whomever is contracted out or hired to clean the cabins, should be reviewed.Overall, outside of the cleanliness issues, the cabin was just ok. Due to the cleanliness issues and with the shear number of properties available to rent in the area, I cannot say we would return.

We had a great time staying at Southern Comfort. We were in town for a large family reunion. The other two cabins I saw were equally as nice.Southern Comfort was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was well-stocked and the beds were extremely comfortable. Dan was very helpful with a last minute change due to our need to bring our dog. If we are ever in the area again, we will rent from Elk Springs Resort. I have already recommended it to friends.

The cabin was very nice overall. The pictures best described what to expect. However, cabin was advertised as 3 full bathrooms and this location had had only 2 full bathrooms which did not work well when you have 11 people. We were also not happy with the cook ware arrangement. There were only 11 place settings and we had to use the dishwasher at least a few times per dya. Pots and pans were minimal too. The owner needs to spend a few hundred bucks to upgrade pots/pans and utensils (this was very disappointing) If the bathroom and utensil situation taken care of, we would have rated close to 5 star. I hope this gets corrected in the near future and do not understand why there were not prior complaints

Many cabins we’ve stayed in over the years have had some kind of Christmas decorations, maybe just a string of lights or even a Christmas tree, so that would’ve been nice. Coffee cups in the cabinet were dirty. We saw a couple of roaches in the downstairs bathroom. Overall we enjoyed staying there.

Using VRBO is easy. Cabin was difficult to find at night. The sign “Southern Comfort” wasn’t easy to find. No reflection on you, but getting into Gatlinburg was brutally crowded. Doubt I’ll visit again. The city needs to accommodate the annoying traffic. Also frustrating that while traveling you can’t always get internet.

Location was great! Management company was thorough and professional, easy to deal with. The house was large and accurately described. The property itself wasn't clean. Floors were filthy, counters sticky, just generally could use a good cleaning inside and out. The dishwasher didn't work well and utensils were cheap. Overall the property needs to be upgraded considering the rental fee. We also felt there should have been some Christmas decorations up since it was a week before Christmas. We would book with Elk Spring again but probably not at this particular cabin.

The cabin was nice, but the beds are not comfortable, not enough sitting space in the theater room, just one sofa, when I turn on the fireplace upstairs the fire alarm would come on but the maintenance did come and fix within 4 hours, downstairs rooms are really cold, the rocking chairs are not suitable for large people and the furniture in the living room area sits to low making it hard for tall, heavy or older people to get up, the TV in the upstairs room didn't not work and the TV in living area you couldn't see it if you sitting in the kitchen area, the air hockey machine was not working.

I stay with Elk Spring because I can always count on their cabins to be first class. And they always are. But this cabin is mediocre at best. It appears to be older. The toilet seats are all scratched up. Floors are scratched up. The heating is definitely a problem. In order for the bedrooms to be warm, you have to heat the living room up super hot. Very uncomfortable. One of the bedrooms, you can’t walk on both sides of the bed. So one person has to crawl over the other person to get in and out of bed. I did have dirty dishes in the cabinet and the cleaning lady left the rag she cleaned with, wet and balled up on the counter upon arrival. The beds are super hard. To get to the cabin, the roads are very winding and the whole vehicle would get sick every time we drove it. I have honestly never had anything negative to say about one of their cabins before. But I won’t be back to this one.

Overall a good experience. The cabin location was great. We appreciated all the email and text reminders from management regarding processes. Many of the dishes and the grill were not clean on arrival. The dishwasher did not work properly and used a specific type of tablet which we had to purchase. The bedrooms and baths were clean except very dusty under the beds. The cabin was cold and we could not adjust the thermostat. Additional blankets would be great. We really enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor decks on both levels. For the price and length of stay, additional paper goods, soap and dishwasher tablets would have been helpful. We had to purchase all.

We stayed at Southern Comfort and it was the worst cabin I’ve ever stayed in. Was suppose to check in at 3 they called and said it would be 6. We got in the cabin around 5. As soon as we got there we saw that one of the toilets was broken and we you flushed water went everywhere. They replaced it but didn’t have a water line so it was another 2 days before it was fixed. My niece was going to sleep on the sofa bed and when we pulled it out there were 2 big blood stains on the mattress. Had to call them again and they picked up the mattress but never replaced it so I had to buy a air mattress. Never picked up our trash. There were centipedes all over the downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. Cabin needs a good cleaning. Will not be going back. Very dissatisfied

Good cabin, low on supplies
This cabin has a great set up, but was low on some key supplies. For a house that sleeps 12, the cookware was insufficient to cook a meal for that size of group. More towels could have been supplied and no extra blankets were provided. All the bedrooms were very cold, extremely cold in the basement, no matter how high we set the thermostat and the bedding was light weight. Everyone had a very cold nights sleep. Lastly, there were no cleaning supplies provided other than dish liquid and laundry detergent. This may be due to covid, in which then I understand.
Regardless, we still had a great time!

This is quite comfortable cabin for multi-family group. Description matches property, including accessories. Parking space in front of this cabin can park 4 vehicles (we have 3 small SUVs and 1 pickup) without problem. During the stay, we contacted Elksprings for garbage collection, open door (kids played it and locked accidentally) and dishwasher leaking (our mistake), they always reply promptly and send staff shortly.
Some Kids love the hot tub; others enjoyed the home theater system and air hockey. I would say this company has won my trust. Before selecting this cabin and Elkspring, I searched other more renowned cabin agents, they charged a lot of fees and had discrepancies between virtual pictures and actual stuff.
Something that I recommend to improve is better cleaned kitchen (some cabinets’ doors are sticky and oily). Quits and blankets are kind of old. If you sensitive to these, it is recommended to bring your own.
Overall, we had a good stay in Southern Comfort.
