Located in Indian Rocks Beach, this charming cottage for $188 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. SANDY SHORES has three beautiful cottages: THE PATIO, THE GULF (VRBO #78339) and THE GARDEN (VRBO #508994) Please be our guest! Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage (vrbo/78339) followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores! Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat. Free Wireless/WIFI available. Visit our other COTTAGE at: VRBO #78339 - Gulf Cottage Sandy Shores is a very unique “slice of old Florida”, with lots of flowers, palms, lounging areas, privacy, all with a relaxed vibe. There are only four units on the property and three of them rent on a weekly basis – so most of the time you have the whole place to yourself. The Gulf Cottage is a single story, one bedroom House, very private, quiet and clean with a spectacular, unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. It has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa. The kitchen has everything what a chef would wish for, a big fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove included. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower. Behind the Gulf Cottage and landscaped courtyard is a two story building – the top floor I reside in – with the PATIO and GARDEN Cottages below. The Patio Cottage has a King Bed and Queen Sleeper Sofa, the Garden Cottage has a Queen Bed and a Queen Sleeper Sofa. Both have a full kitchen with stove, fridge and microwave. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower.

My wife and I have stayed at a few older style beach front cabanas on the Gulf Beaches. Sandy Shores is now our "Go To" choice. It is clean and well appointed. Lots of room for a one-bedroom unit. Literally just steps from the beach and across the street (Gulf Blvd.) from great eateries. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but not a deal breaker. Myrtle has done a wonderful job of maintaining the property and keeping things "modern". The television and WiFi work as you would expect.

Our stay at Sandy Shores was wonderful. Myrtle was a fantastic host. Upon arrival she gave us a thorough tour of the cottage and property. The garden area is beautiful. Myrtle has a supply closet full of beach essentials - chairs, umbrellas, noodles for floating, etc. Our cottage was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. There were plenty of bath towels and beach towels. We had access to an outdoor shower to rinse off and a clothesline to hang swimsuits and beach towels. Every detail was carefully thought out. The beach was just steps away via a private beach access only open to people staying at Sandy Shores. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. The sunsets were stunning. CVS is right across the street for supplies and basic food necessities as well as several restaurants and gift shops all within walking distance. We parked our car when we arrived and didn’t have to move it to drive anywhere. The trolley stop is right across the street if you’d like to venture away some. It even goes to Clearwater. Thank you Myrtle for hosting my family. We are already planning another stay at your beautiful property.

This was my first trip to FL and it was great! My husband said I did well when picking Sandy Shores. The place was clean and beautiful. We could walk to restaurants, bars & shopping. Myrtle was absolutely wonderful and charming. I highly recommend Sandy Shores. Hopefully, I can go back and stay again.

This is a delightful "Old Florida" style cottage. The unit we stayed in was not directly on the beach but the compound is. It is a veritable jungle of plants!. The cottage is a bargain for this close to the beach. Myrtle is delightful and has most everything u need, including beach chairs, umbrellas, floaties, bogie boards, towels, etc. Great restaraunts are across the street or very close. The only down sides are: bathroom is very small, has one window unit ac which is in the living area (kind of awkward with our adult sleeping on the sleeper sofa). The house next door (which is very nice) rents for >$500/night making this a bargin!

This place was incredible! Perfect size for my lady and I. Myrtle was very kind and helpful. Conveniently located where you can get ice cream, pizza, beer and beach merch with in 100 feet from each other. The plants around the property lovely and the wildlife was real. It kind of felt like a small jungle leading in to the beach passing through some sand dunes. Highly recommend this place!

Not only was this property everything we wanted and more Myrtle was absolutely amazing. From our check in with her in depth guide throughout the property and all it has to offer to her amazing hospitality. This cottage is definitely a hidden gem and we are so happy it fell in our laps. We will absolutely be back yearly to stay here and how anyone else looking for that old Florida feel will too! Steps from the beach with all the chairs, loungers and beach towels provided to you! We even were able to use laundry on site! Thank you Myrtle for such an amazing trip.

My wife and I were suppose to be celebrating our honeymoon. We both work in the healthcare field and work a lot of crazy hours and only wanted to getaway for a few days after the wedding. Online reviews for this place seemed right up our alley. Quiet town, quiet beaches, lots of rest and no need to be near a phone. The last town we passed through to get gas one last time before arriving at Indian Rocks there was a kitten that had been abandoned. We coaxed it to us and was gonna take it to a rescue as soon as we got to Indian Rocks. Which we did within an hour of arriving at the condo. The very first night we slept there, after being awake two days prior, we were awakened at 2 pm the next day. Which were we at home yes that is very late to be in bed. But this was our honeymoon. The owner was checking to see if that cat was gone. Every morning after she continued to knock and get us up for something or other. We were so ready to leave that we packed everything, cleaned the condo the night prior to leaving. Today, October 27 our checkout time was 10:00am. At 9:00am on the dot, knock knock knock. And who would it be at the door? The owner reminding us at 9 that checkout was at 10. We were only trying to do a nice thing for that little kitten. But it set in motion 4 days of the worst vacation I’ve ever been on. And can’t redo a honeymoon.

Sandy Shores is nothing short of perfection. From your lovely hostess Myrtle to the quaint, cozy and clean cottage. You will not be disappointed. Conveniently located to many restaurants, CVS and a little general store. All within walking distance. Sandy Shores is just steps to the most beautiful beach and amazing sunsets. When leave this little piece of paradise you will leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated all at the same time. We will definitely return.
