Cantaloupe Cottage is a classic Mid Century Modern island home built in the 1950’s and completely restored with Central AC and all modern updates, this ground level, pet-friendly home features a large fully fenced back and side yards with views of the Back River and 1.5 blocks to Alley 3- the local Kayak launch area. 3 bedrooms and 1.25 bathrooms (one full bathroom with a tub/shower combo and one shower-only room), plus a Florida room and an amazing kitchen, this home is a little charmer! House was two blocks from the beach and four blocks from shops, and clean (except for the coffee pot). Manager was responsive and friendly, as always. A little trouble getting into the home as the screen door was latched from the inside. The area was quiet and safe.

Very impressed with our stay. The cottage matched the beach vibe and was the cleanest place I have ever stayed. Tammy was awesome and a pleasure to talk to. The yard was great and we sat out at back patio every day and enjoyed morning coffee. We visit Savanna often and will stay with Mermaid Cottages again.

Perfect cottage for our family get away. Plenty of space for 4 adults and our 2 dogs to enjoy and relax. We really enjoy paddle boarding, fishing and playing in the waves. Just a short walk and we could do everything. My dogs loved the secure backyard . The island is so clean and walker friendly. Would highly recommend.

It was nice n quiet. It's anything to complain about was couldn't get tv in 1st bedroom to right to work n wish there was an outlet in bathroom but that's minor. We really enjoyed our get away.

A wonderful little home right near the beach. We loved staying here and loved Tybee Island itself. The locals were all SO friendly and Steve and Tammy with Mermaid cottages were amazing and helpful. I will say if you're staying a full week like we did to bring extra trash bags and paper towels.

Cantaloupe Cottage was a great place to stay while visiting Tybee Island. If you prefer a quiet neighborhood and don’t mind a short walk or drive to the beach, this is the place to be. It’s affordably priced and provides a quiet place to relax before and after time spent out at the beach. The management team was very responsive and checked in on my family several times while we were there to make sure we had everything we needed. When the kitchen faucet started to leak, they it fixed within an hour. Overall, we had a great vacation!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the cantaloupe cottage. The house was comfortable, clean, and cute. The only issue we had was with the spotty internet. It was not very reliable. Otherwise we loved it! The house is only a couple of blocks away from the back river beach (our favorite) and 1/2 mile from the beaches at the pier and pavilion. We watched the sunset from the shore at the fisherman’s walk pier each night - amazing! We brought our bicycles and were able to bicycle everywhere! That was the best part - no driving or fighting for parking spaces we had to pay for. Even the lighthouse is within bicycling distance. The house is in a quiet residence neighborhood. We plan to come back next year!

Very cute and clean property. Had everything we needed and we felt very comfortable and relaxed there. Easy check-in and check-out process and communication with host was excellent. Loved being able to walk to both the river and beach and the delicious restaurant down the street. Sad we didn’t get to stay longer.

My family enjoyed our stay very much over spring break. It was clean and well equipped for any cooking that we did including a bbq grill. It was peaceful and quiet and a short walk to the restaurants we like on the beach.

Cantaloupe Cottage was perfect for our family. We loved the sitting area in the back of yard to soak up the late evening sun and the cement patio for the dogs. The location was perfect for walking to the beach and restaurants, such as Pier 16, Sunrise and AJ's Dockside. We rented bikes from Fat Tire bikes and basically biked the entire island the last 2 days of our vacation. Also, I want to mention Tammy was extremely accommodating and pleasant to deal with. She was quick to respond to any questions we had regarding our stay. Thank you so much for such a wonderful memorable vacation! Tybee was a beautiful place and we hope to be back! We would rent again.

Our stay at Canty Cottage was one of our absolute favorite vacations we have taken yet. The location is one that can’t be beat. We were just a short walk to the beach and fishing pier. The cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood, we would walk to the beach early in the morning and everyone in the neighborhood who was out walking was extremely friendly. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in back yard as well. Mermaid Tammy was absolutely wonderful and checked in with us throughout our stay. Tybee Island is truly magical and mermaid cottages helped make our stay that much better! We will definitely be using them again in the future.

This was the first vacation home I have ever rented so I was a little worried about how the entire process was going to go. Each year we take a beach vacation for my Son's birthday and this year we chose Tybee. My Wife and Son have never visited but I stayed on the island on and off about 15 years ago. We picked this pet-friendly location near the river and a few blocks from the beach. The property had everything we needed for our stay and some. The property manager was very helpful, accessible and assured we had everything we needed for our stay. The home was very clean and the yard was spacious. Everyone had a blast and we are sad we had to leave. Until next year...

This is our fourth year coming down to Tybee for our annual family vacation. We grew out of the house we normally stay in so some of us decided to venture out and secure a new home to stay in during the week. This was so close to my families home and it's in the exact location we love on the south end of the island.
The entire house was perfect ( I really appreciated the extra fans they had for use, because I have to sleep with a fan blowing loud on me and it's too much to pack one for every trip). The only complaint I really had, which isn't even really a complaint is the bathroom situation. It would be great to have one more bathroom with at least a toilet, but this issue wouldn't deter me from staying here.
We hope to stay here for many more of our vacations.

We enjoyed ourselves so much, this was a trip to celebrate our daughter graduating from college so we had a few family members with us and staying near by. It was such a nice place to just hang out catch up and celebrate together. Conveniently enough AJ's restaurant is within walking distance is a great place to eat and see a beautiful sunset. The 'mermaids" are attentive and so nice, the cottage was so clean and neat, I loved it!!I would totally tell anyone who is going to Tybee to check this place out. My only regret is our dog couldn't join us because of her knee surgery. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. P.

Cantaloupe Cottage is a sweet little place located away from the hustle and bustle and perfect for travelers with pets (although we did not have our pets with us). Very close to beach access along the river and standing on the side porch you can catch a glimpse of the water. Nothing fancy about Cantaloupe Cottage but cozy and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The Tiki hut is a lively spot for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. We very much enjoyed our stay and are so grateful to the Mermaids at Mermaid Cottages who came to our rescue to find this place for us during an unplanned longer stay than we had expected. We would recommend The Cantaloupe to fellow travelers.

Canty's Cottage is a wonderful look into the past. The vintage cottage is a step back into the fifties but with modern amenities. We loved our week there. We stayed at Canty's because there were few steps into the cottage. My daughter is in a wheelchair. Although the cottage is not fully wheelchair accessible, we managed. This would not be a cottage for those who have no help getting into the bathroom as the door is not wide enough for a wheelchair. With a few adjustments such as widening the bathroom door and a small ramp into the cottage this would be a perfect cottage for the wheelchair user.
