About this house rental
Nestled in Washington Island, this charming house for $325 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This well built ranch home sits on 2.5 beautiful wooded, private acres. The interior of the home is primarily beautifully crafted wood. There are two bedrooms and also 2 Great Rooms! Two, 25x25 ft. rooms with cathedral ceilings and lots of open space. In one of the great rooms there is a door for privacy and a pull out queen sleeper sofa. In the main great room there is a twin size day bed under a window. 2019 new bathroom! This home sits with the most beautiful views of Green Bay waters. Directly facing west, the most amazing sunsets are right out your door, and can be viewed from the master bedroom, dining room, and 2 great rooms. Every year we like to surprise our return guests with something new. Most recently, removed carpet to expose gorgeous maple floors, washer and dryer, new decks, new furnishings, new roof, new bathroom and much more! There is a large window porch that has an eating table and a large sofa. There is a roomy open air deck that faces the water attached to the home. There is another large deck halfway down to the water, great for outdoor eating. Then there is a 3rd deck down by the water, perfect for watching the amazing sunsets. This home sits on a rolling hill filled with grass that walks you down to the 280 ft. of private waterfront. This beach consists of small and a lot of large rock. We are experiencing record high water, so our water frontage is getting hit pretty hard. We always ask that everyone use great care when getting in the water. Water shoes recommended. There is also a nice drop off approx. 50ft out, great for fishing, diving or snorkeling. You will see fishing boats at a distance as this is a popular area for salmon...you can see them, but they would have trouble seeing you. This home is in a private setting with lots of mature trees. We enjoyed our stay, despite very hard twin beds and uncomfortable seating. We had to bring our own sheets and towels. There were lots of signs with dos and don’ts around the house. We did our best to comply.

The backyard on the water makes the trip, gorgeous! We had a great time! House is super cute rustic cabin vibes:) Some days it gets a tad hot without air but by the time you go to bed it’s good.

This was a beautiful place on Washington Island. With lakeside views, a firepit, comfortable furniture, supplied kitchen, etc, it was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend our honeymoon. The property manager made the experience so easy with little to no stress. Definitely will be returning!

She kept our group in the loop about bad weather limiting travel to and from the island, allowing us to keep on schedule. Very kind and thoughtful throughout the whole process. Property was clean with plenty of amenities and space for our group. Modern bathroom was great for our group. The water was pretty choppy on the beach for this property through our stay, compared to other places on the island, but still enjoyable to take in and relax. I would absolutely recommend for anyone new to Washington Island to have a nice getaway.

We are frequent visitors to Washington Island and this year we decided to book the Funk Cottage. We loved it! Great, very clean and had a well-equipped kitchen, complete with spices, and every pot, pan, dish, glassware you can imagine. Cooking was a breeze in the kitchen. Lots of choices of where to sleep, but we picked the comfy beds. The newly remodeled shower was beautiful. We had two days of magnificent biking, then two days of rain, but we brought books and cooked and still had a great time. And, how many cottages come with an organ?? Seriously. A real organ! That raised the cottage to a whole new level. We already booked it for next year and plan to master both "In the Gadda la Vida" and "Smoke on the Water." Thank you Amy!

We absolutely loved everything about this cottage. The sunsets were gorgeous. We had an eagle fly by a couple of times. A heron flew by like clockwork every night as the sun was setting. We rode our bikes around the island and spent one day exploring Rock Island. The weather was perfect. We look forward to coming back.

We had a great week at this lovely property. Staying on island for a week was a change of pace from our usual Door County vacations. After a couple days of exploring the island, we came to realize that hanging out here was our favorite way to relax. The swings, hammock, decks and firepit all were situated so that the lake view could be maximized. Great wifi. Comfy beds. Would love to return someday.

Great R & R Retreat
the pictures of the interior of the property and the sunsets were greatly under represented. It was far more than expected. It was peaceful and relaxing and the location relative to everything on the island was fantastic. Would definitely do again.

Wood to burn and time to kill is all you need.
Two cozy separate rooms that sleep 4 people and can sleep additional 3 adults in other rooms was very convenient. Newly remodeled bathroom with a walk in shower was great! Lots of space for your belongings and absolutely gorgeous outdoors!!! 2 wooden swings, a hammock, two (or was it three? Lol) decks and seating around the fire pit. And lots of big rocks to chill on by the water!!! We sun bathed on the lounge chairs and played croquet.
Private drive and privacy all around makes this original cottage a great retreat to the past.
Kitchen to cook in and closed in porch to enjoy your meals with family. Lots of fans throughout the cottage to keep you cool and other supplies that come handy, like cleaning products. Oh and kitchen has it all to cook and dishes, etc. We shopped at Mann’s grocery store and stayed in to make family breakfast.

This is a beautiful home; spacious and inviting. A short bike ride from the best coffee shop and ice cream shop. The host was very responsive, even stopped by to help access Netflix. My family highly recommends this home.

Relaxing and beautiful sunsets
Beautiful property, better than advertised. The only thing that would have made the stay better is not having to worry about the garbage and having wood for the fire pit. Those are very minimal though, compared to our wonderful vacation.

What a great place for a getaway! The house was so cozy and eclectic and the property was beautiful. So many great little touches around the house that we have not found in other places (sunscreen and bug spray, extra fans in nearly every room, etc) made it that much more inviting. All of the communication before and during our stay made it a breeze! I would absolutely recommend this property!

What a great place for a getaway! The house was so cozy and eclectic and the property was beautiful. So many great little touches around the house that we have not found in other places (sunscreen and bug spray, extra fans in nearly every room, etc) made it that much more inviting. All of the communication before and during our stay made it a breeze! I would absolutely recommend this property!

Beautiful view
The sunset view is the best. Comfortable home and very well stocked. Having the doors to close off one great room made wrangling toddlers much easier. New bathroom and kitchen appliances were very nice. Only complaint was the kitchen was dark. Wish the lighting in that room was better.

We had a wonderful time at Funk's Cottage on Washington Island. Comfortable accommodations, books to read, a well stocked kitchen and awesome view. Amy was great to work with and answered all questions in timely manner.

The pictures did not do justice to the cabin. It was spacious enough that everyone had space to be alone when wanted, but it was somehow cozy at the same time. The décor is warm and inviting, the perfect mix of cabin comfort with a few well appreciated modern touches (WIFI!)
The view of the bay from the deck was mesmerizing. You could sit on the deck, the swings, the hammock, or go down to what my son called the "secret beach." It was so quiet and peaceful. We knew there were neighbors, but it was easy to fell as if we had this corner of the island to ourselves.
I almost hate to bring more attention to the place so we can continue to book the cabin, but it was the best vacation we have ever had. Amy was gracious and very responsive .
