About this house rental
Nestled in Sunset Beach, this attractive house for $140 per night is a great choice for your next break. This mid-island home features an open and airy gathering area with the living/dining/kitchen opening into a sunroom, all with soaring cathedral ceilings. The screened porch and sundeck are accessible from french doors from both the living and dining rooms. The master bedroom has a private bath and the other bedrooms have an adjoining bath between them. The kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking needs and both a gas and charcoal grill are available. The beach is a five minute walk from the house and there is an outside shower ideal for rinsing off the sand each time you return. Linens are not provided, but can be rented from Julie's Rentals on the island and can be delivered prior to arrival. While guests must provide their own paper products and cleaning supplies, a broom, mop and vacuum cleaner are provided. Also the beds are furnished with mattress pads, pillows and comforters. The rental fee includes a housekeeping service provided at the end of your stay, except for rentals of less than 5 nights. Sunset Beach is the southernmost barrier island in NC with wide sand beaches protected by rows of dramatic dunes. It was ranked #4 by National Geographic as one of the 21 best beaches in the world in 2017, and made TripAdvisors list of budget beach vacations. It is a most relaxing, family oriented beach, with only a few low rise retail outlets, but close to the many amenities of Myrtle Beach. Just off the island there are also many restaurants, shops and other recreational outlets, as well as several world class golf courses. Just a short walk down the beach, Bird Island, a national wildlife preserve, consists of a two mile strand of uninhabited beach(except for the many species of birds, deer, goats and turtles) to make your walk or bike ride even more enjoyable. It was a great little place to stay, and was a short walk to the beach. If we weren’t at the beach, we were enjoying the screened in porch. We normally have more in our party, but not all were able to come this year, so It was great for 3 adults and a toddler. We really enjoyed our stay!

The house was perfect for what we needed. It was a short walk to the beach. The neighborhood was quiet. It is also close enough to drive to North Myrtle to spend the day also. Highly recommend & will definitely try to stay there again. Chuck was very helpful & responded to messages very fast.

We loved staying here for our first visit to Sunset Beach. The kids loved the hammock and looking for lizards outside! The light with the large windows in the main room is beautiful. We also loved hanging out on the porch. The walk was little long for the kids (4,6,8 years old) but no problem for my husband and myself. My watch said .3 miles to our beach spot and a lot of that is walking on the boardwalk itself. The beach itself is really pretty and we loved how there weren’t any houses right on the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay. Only issue was that the internet connection here was very limited. That said, Chuck was very responsive and did his best to accommodate our needs. Definitely would rent again.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The extras in the beach/laundry room under the house really made our stay more enjoyable. There is a cart to push everything down the road since there is a little bit of a walk, but the walk was doable for us. We absolutely loved Sunset Beach and the people there!! I think the only thing I would change about this house is the couch in the living room. There were a little fibers coming off of it that got stuck in our hands and it was a little bit uncomfortable. Everything else was great!! Thank you for letting us stay here and making our stay awesome!!

We had a wonderful time at sunset beach! The beach itself is great for families as it has a wide soft sandy shoreline and a gentle entrance to the water. We really enjoyed Chuck’s place. It’s as shown in photos, maybe even better! The main living space is nice and open with a lovely dining area as well as an outdoor patio. The walk to the beach is very manageable even with small children and the area is quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend! We saw Chuck a couple times during the stay and he is a friendly and easy to work with host.

This beachhouse was amazing, my family & I enjoyed ourselves! This place gives you a peace of mind! I mean it’s really quiet which is good especially if you’re from city area. Grocery stores are close which were also good because me and my family don’t like to dine out and it was good to make breakfast at the house afterwords go to the beach. There’s washer and dryer to wash your clothes & available chairs and beach accessories & bikes. If your reading this ,please just go ahead & book this house you won’t be disappointed!

Great family beach trip
Great beach house for our family of 6. Everything as advertised. Heads up as the wifi is Satellite internet. So it doesn’t work well when it is raining and cannot handle modern teenage expectations of large downloads and online video games.

Chuck was a great host, with great communication. The place was clean, and the AC was cool. The beds were extremely comfortable. Seemed like new mattresses. Our stay was fantastic!

First time renting through VRBO. Nice, clean home with just a few minutes walk to the beach. Well stocked kitchen & the grills were a major plus! Easy to contact owner, no problems with the home. It had everything we needed for our vacation!

A Perfect Home for a Beach Holiday
I am a very satisfied, returning guest, and I look forward to my next visit to "Sheer Delight." Yes, I'm already looking at the future availability!!!
Since this visit was in June, the water and air temperature were warmer, so I enjoyed lots more hours on the beach and in the water. Plus, I enjoyed the beach yoga class, the Bird Island Nature Walk, the concert in the park, the produce market/craft markets on island and in the community park, and delicious entrees at local restaurants.
Anyone who has been to Sunset Beach would agree that it's a very unique and beautiful place, and staying in "Sheer Delight" was the perfect place to call home for the week.

Being able to park beneath the house out of the sun was really nice. There are three little libraries on the island which provided plenty of reading material. After a busy day, there was lots of quick, hot water to wash away the salt water.
The grocery store is 6 minutes away, and so are delicious restaurants just as close. We went to North Myrtle just for a little adventure, but we were so glad to return to Sunset Beach, so quiet and welcoming. Lucky me, I'm returning in a few weeks.

Enjoyed our stay
We visit Sunset Beach yearly and have stayed in many rentals on the island. Sheer Delight was well equipped and met all of our needs. It was a great value for the size and location. I would recommend it to others.

The house is spacious, filled with windows, and well laid out for a family vacation. The kitchen is super stocked with everything you could need besides a few random items (meat thermometer & we couldn’t find the grill spatula). But they even had a blender! And there are board games, cards, etc. The beach entrance is a short walk and the sunsets are beautiful!
The cleanliness of the house wasn’t ideal. We informed Chuck and he did say he plans to go with his wife and the housekeepers to try and improve on this. The main issues we had were very stained/gross pillows, some mustiness, and hair left on the floor. The laundry room downstairs is also a bit moldy, but bathrooms were clean.
Our main issue was the satellite internet is VERY POOR, and basically unusable if there is a storm- the exact time you most need it!
We also mentioned to Chuck that the front door keys take a lot of jiggling to work and the sinks drained really slowly, so hopefully those issues will be addressed.
Chuck was very kind and quick to respond. Overall we still had an excellent trip, but probably would pick a different house next time to ensure good internet access.
