About this cottage rental
Nestled in Sunset Beach, this charming cottage for $195 per night is a great choice for your next break. FLIP FLOPS & FLAMINGOS Located in Shoreline Woods, one mile from the beach, we offer a comfortable cottage surrounded by trees in a quiet waterway community. The house is on the mainland; to gain access to the beach, there is a free public parking area next to the pier and a larger "pay-to-park" lot beside it. We currently offer a free parking pass, but this is subject to change. Once your toes hit the sand, you can stroll the wide beach, walk to the Kindred Spirits Mailbox, fish from the pier or just sit, relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. Dogs less than 20 pounds and house-trained are welcome for a nominal pet fee of $100. No smoking or vaping is allowed in the cottage. There is no maid or linen service; we ask you to provide your own bed linens, towels and wash cloths. All cleaning supplies are provided so that you can perform the exit cleaning, which is part of keeping rates reasonable. The cottage has an energy saving HVAC system; the cooling system low is 72 degrees and the heating system high is 76 degrees. Ceiling fans and blankets are present to help with any temperature extremes. The cottage features 3 bedrooms (1 king bed, 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds; plus, a queen sleeper sofa) and 2 full bathrooms. There is a renovated kitchen with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances, an extended countertop with two stools, and a washer / dryer. The great room has a cathedral ceiling and Smart TV and is open to the dining room featuring a table and 6 chairs. The backyard has a deck with gas grill and a fenced in patio area, with additional seating and two chaise lounge chairs. Deck boxes are filled with beach chairs, umbrellas, body boards, beach toys and sand buckets. Perhaps the best part of the cottage is the screened-in front porch; great for enjoying an early morning breakfast, an afternoon happy hour or listening to the rain at midnight. The cottage is the perfect location to serve as home base for excursions to Calabash (the Seafood Capital of the World), historic Southport, neighboring beaches in NC and SC (Ocean Isle, Emerald Isle, Holden Beach, Cherry Grove, North Myrtle Beach), dozens of golf courses, the planetarium, and a multitude of specialty shops and restaurants. There are also two bicycles if you just want to cruise around the neighborhood. The Coastal Cottage is a family-owned second home that we hope our guests will enjoy. We are not a rental agency or a property management company. We are not currently offering monthly rentals with reservations limited to no more than two weeks. We ask that guests be married, accompanied by a parent or over 25 years old. We want you to have an amazing time on your visit to Sunset and will be happy to make recommendations if asked. Very close to everything and the neighborhood is very nice and quiet. My dog was very comfortable there and loved the fenced in back area. But the mosquitos! Spray before walking and bring Quit Itch stuff because you'll still get bit. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and my brother loved the cable TV!

This attractive and endearing home welcomes you to Sunset Beach community. The neighborhood is beautiful and fun to explore by walking or cycling and the island is a short drive across the bridge. Best of both worlds. Clean, well equipped and looked after. Definitely want to return!

Beautiful, clean, close to not only Sunset Beach but Ocean Isle, Holden and Cherry Grove Beaches. Was so impressed with how well stocked the residence was, there were cleaning supplies, extra paper towels, toilet paper, coffee maker, dishes, pans, everything you need! Communication with the host was amazing, they were so helpful and very kind. Would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage and will most definitely be coming back! First time at the beach in North Carolina. Enjoyed the location. I would stay there again. The house is in great shape and many amenities are provided. Close to great restaurants and amusements for the kids.

This great little house is one mile from Sunset Beach in a quiet neighborhood. The home is supplied with plenty of items for the beach that you don’t need to bring, like boogie boards, umbrellas, wagons, etc.
Just bring your own bed and bath linens and off you go, enjoy!

My kids and I loved this cottage! It's in a nice neighborhood
and very close to the beach. It was bigger on the inside than I expected. The big open central living area has two bedrooms on one side with a bathroom and a third on the other that also has a full bathroom. The deck and backyard were both good-sized which was great for my kids and dog (owners pre-approved bringing him). My kids liked using the boogie boards the owners made available. We played games at the kitchen table, ate at the kitchen island, and relaxed on the screen in porch. The big living room couches were great for spreading out to watch movies. The beach was about a mile away. Grocery store, pharmacy, gift shops, and good restaurants are all within a 1-2mi radius.
Bringing linens was new to me but no big deal at all. The owners provided lots of details on the property including what to do on arrival and a checklist of what to do before leaving were very helpful.
This is definitely a great, peaceful vacation spot I plan on returning to with my family.

Going off season was amazing! The beach was beautiful and peaceful, fun to walk and explore, with NO crowds. We stopped at local fish markets and I prepared dinner at this properties kitchen, no problem.
In the evenings, and we played family games, took long walks, enjoyed the screened porch and had much needed conversation. It’s spacious and equipped. Best of all our dog had his first vacation and loved walking the beach and being with his litter. Thanks Randy, we will be back soon!

We love, love, love this place....it is fully stocked with whatever you might need.
Unfortunately we had to leave a day sooner and we're in a little rush, but life happens....we definitely want to come back in Wintertime because that's our favorite time to walk the beach with some hot cocoa and cookies in a backpack and a lot of cool, fresh air to breath in .....

Everything was great.. the floors could have been a little more cleaned (sandy) but some of the dishes were dirty. (We cleaned them then put them back) There was a lot of animal hair on things! Over all we enjoyed it and would stay here again, I would recommend to anyone!

We stayed for 3 days and we felt it was too short ! It is such a amazing place to stay , you have everything you need , nothing is missing there !

This property is amazing! The pictures don't do it justice. Randy was so easy to talk to and always there to answer any questions we had. He was very accommodating and fast to respond. The neighborhood is quiet and in the perfect location. The cottage is very clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Can't wait to go back!

This owner has thought about your needs while vacationing! Plenty of dishes, pots and pans. More than enough outdoor seating if needed, for us too hot to be outside the week we were there. Plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, water boards, sand toys. The cottage is very appealing, a little too much decor for me, but very beachy. Enough paper products to last at least 2-3 days, along with some detergent for clothes. The only drawback for us was having to haul our sheets and towels, and cleaning up after previous renters. Not everyone will clean the same. All in all, may stay there again

Home away from Home
This is definitely our home away from home. We have stayed here multiple times over the past year and now feel like we are at home for sure. The amenities are beyond plentiful... the comforts await you to relax and enjoy... The hosts, Randy and Lynn have generously provided a place that I will continue to visit throughout the upcoming months and years... My 81yr old dad absolutely loves to come vacation and relax here with us. Can't wait for the next visit very soon

Peaceful and Lovely Cottage
My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. We had everything we needed and much more! The beach was beautiful and only a short drive. With the pier parking pass we never had any issues finding somewhere to park. We Will definitely book again!

The best cottage and home I’ve ever stayed in at Sunset Beach… We were so comfortable in this well-equipped beautiful cottage… It provides anything and everything you could need for easy and simple vacation… The Hosts Randy and Leanne are amazing to deal with… And so easy to contact should you need them… But I can’t imagine what else you would need in this beautiful vacation cottage… We can’t wait to come back in July… And this will be our go to every time we come to the beach
