My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights while visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. It was great to go to sleep and wake up right next to the water. I sat outside for about an hour in the mornings, my husband was even able to photograph the Milky Way. I'd love to

This property is fantastic in every regard. Larry and Diane have thought of everything at this property. The accommodations were spotless and well appointed. The location is gorgeous and you hear the rushing river inside and out. The outdoor kitchen is superb! The grounds are meticulously maintained and "Colt" is the perfect host and mascot. It sort of feels like camping in the outdoors, but in total luxury and a great space to sleep indoors. Great access to the river and lots of great private spaces to relax in the shade. We will be back again soon!

Everything was clean and comfortable. Especially appreciated the a/c when the temperature hit 90+ the first week of May. Outdoor kitchen had a refrigerator with an ice maker which provided enough ice for our cold drinks. Convenient to sequoia national park. Be sure to try the icecream shop down the road.

The River Jewel property is amazing. The grounds are beautiful. The Sequoia Charm unit is spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Steps outside the unit is the great outdoor kitchen which I used all three mornings. This unit and the attached suite has multiple outdoor seating options on the deck and along the river. The owner's have done a really nice job with the landscaping . The added bonus for me was the owner's dog Colt who greeted me every morning and hung out with me in the evening relaxing on the big rocks in the Kaweah River. I hope to be back some day!

This is an incredible place! The photos don’t do it justice. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. Great communication. The suite exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable bed and suite surroundings. We loved sitting on our outdoor balcony and at beautiful spots along the river path. We loved cooking in the outdoor kitchen. It was so awesome and relaxing walking down to the river and sitting in the cool water of the rapids to cool off. We also loved meeting the property ambassador, Colt, a sweet and beautiful doggie that hung out with us a couple times on the river. We would HIGHLY recommend visiting this beautiful retreat!!!!

This place was clean, welcoming and so relaxing. We listened to the sounds of the river all night long and enjoyed it in the mornings and evenings as well. There are several places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The outdoor kitchen looked perfect though we didn't have a chance to use it while we were there. The bed was super comfy--the best sleep of our trip was in this quiet, relaxing place. It was very close to the Sequoia NP entrance as well. Definitely the place to stay.

This property was amazing; above and beyond our expectations. The owners are friendly and very prompt at answering emails. Their dog should be a good will ambassador! Colt (the dog) was there to greet us and showed us the way best path down to the river. I'll list the pros and, since there aren't any cons, I will list things that might make your stay more enjoyable.
Pros: While the house is a duplex you would never know it. We stayed in the Sequoia Charm, with another couple staying on the other side, and the house is so well built that we never heard a peep from them.
The kitchen is outside and amazing! Coming from Indiana, the thought of an outdoor kitchen was intriguing but I can see how it would work in California. The appliances are top notch and it's even stocked with condiments like olive oil, ketchup, salt and pepper, etc. If cooking isn't your thing, there are several grills to choose from.
There is a small refrigerator in the room along with a microwave, a sink, and a coffeemaker. The bathroom is more than adequate for 2 people but the shower itself is on the small size.
The room has a balcony that overlooks the Kaweah River and it was soothing to sit out there in the early morning and evening to drink coffee, read, chat with my husband, and just enjoy being unplugged from everything. (They do offer wifi so I was still able to check email and play games.)
Things to know:
The Sequoia Charm is a loft (although very big) and there is a slightly steep set of stairs that you'll need to be able to get up and down. I am a middle aged Mom from Indiana and didn't have any problems. Even with my extremely overpacked suitcase.
The town is small with limited places to eat. It's easy enough to stock up on groceries as you pass through Fresno and store them in either fridge. We ate at the Pizza Place and the Mexican Restaurant; both were decent. The two ice cream stores were delicious!
I do need to bring up ants. There were none in the room; no bugs at all, but the ants do love the path where the chairs are and the rocks in the river. To avoid them, either take the lawn chairs that are provided and actually sit in the river, or (ask the owners first) spray down the area you want to sit at with ant spray. In the middle of the day the ants weren't a problem, only when it was cool outside.
This place is amazing and I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to just get away for a few days.

Can’t imagine a better place to stay if you’re visiting Sequoia National Park. Just a short drive to the park entrance. The multiple outdoor lounging areas made it a great place to hang out when not at the park. Highly recommend!

Very Comfortable, clean and beautiful inside and out.
We really enjoyed our stay at the River Jewel we stayed upstairs in the “Sequoia Charm” room. We did watch TV which had a great selection of movies. Unfortunately during our stay the water in the river is going so fast, that you cannot go swimming which was a disappointment for me, I love the water, we had to go to Slick Rock Recreation Area to swim. They charge $5 dollars to park. The water was dirty and muddy, did not enjoy it very much. We ate at Sierra Subs & Salad, which was very tasty and the pizza factory for dinner which was also very good. The village market has a delicious barbecue in the back of the store which was delicious as well. We walked a trail which I also recommend it is Salt Creek BLM on skyline Dr. The GPS kept taking us wrong, so look for Skyline Dr. street and go up till the street ends you will find it there, very nice trail.

Excellent Place to relax after hiking or anytime!
If you are visiting the Sequoia National Park, this is the place to stay. It is only a few miles to the park entrance. We headed to the park early to beat the rush and hiked until mid afternoon and were back buy dinner time. We would eat dinner and relax in the river right outside the room. The room was spacious enough for a family of 4 (2 teenagers). The pull out has a Queen air mattress and the main bed in a King. While the kitchenette is small it was big enough to make lunches and snacks for hiking. There is a full outside kitchen including a grill to cook dinners. You can eat outside or bring your food up to the room if it is too hot outside. It was over 100 degrees each day, but the river helped us cool off (it was in the mid 80 in the mountains and very comfortable for hiking).
I would definable recommend the River Jewel to anyone. We had the Sequoia Charm suite, which is on the second story. There is another sweet on the first level. Both are right on the river and the host have many short trails and areas to relax by the river. The hosts also live on the property which is nice if you have questions or need information.

A true gem by the river!
Beautifully decorated and peaceful place by the river. Wonderful hospitality! We truly appreciated the snacks they provided and the luxurious sheets/towels. I would highly recommend it to others.

Wonderful stay in Three Rivers
Couldn't have asked for more from our stay. The space is SO wonderfully and playfully decorated. Plenty of space, nice and warm. We didn't have time to enjoy the outdoor cooking space or the river, but it all looked great. If you're looking for a place to stay that's clean, fun, close to the mountains, and run by wonderful people, this is it!
Our only trouble was trying to find the place in the dark and rain. The instructions sent to us were accurate, it's just a bit tricky when you're seeing for the first time. Another sign or two would be helpful. Couldn't sing enough praises of this stay, however.

Beautiful River Setting
We loved staying at the Sequoia Charm! There was plenty of room for my 9 year old son and my husband and me. We loved the view from the deck! The sound of the river combined with the gorgeous river and mountain views were so peaceful and relaxing. We were amazed by the super view of the night sky. We could see so many more stars than at home. We could see the Milky Way! We wish that we could have stayed longer. The hosts had some snacks and water in the room for us and a cooler that we could use in the park. Everything was spotlessly clean. The sheets and bed were very plush and comfortable. There were games and books to use while we were there. The street sign décor was cute and amused my son. We also enjoyed the ping pong table outside and the river path.
The cottage was so close to Sequoia National Park, making it easy to visit there. The night after our visit to the National park we enjoyed dinner right down the road at the Old Buckaroo- recommended by the host.

A One of Kind Riverfront Vacation Haven
This is a beautiful and romantic haven. Right on the river and my wife and I sat there every morning and evening enjoying the peace and sublime the mother has brought us. This is a rare find comparing with any places we had stayed previously in the Three Rivers. The host surely has a designer sense of decoration, paying attention to every detail for absolute visual feasting. You will definitely be pleasantly surprised for such wonderful experience at River Jewel, we highly recommend it!

Magical!
We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the Sequoia National Park and couldn't have had a better stay! The outdoor kitchen is awesome and full of everything you could need to cook a meal. The sound of the river is so peaceful and the little sitting nooks around the property offer a relaxing spot to sit and admire the river. The owners are so helpful and their dogs are friendly greeters welcoming you to the property. Highly recommend this rental to anyone in the area!

Relaxing & Romantic
My husband and I stayed in the Sequoia Charm for an Anniversary getaway. We loved everything about our stay and look forward to making it a tradition. The room is spacious and open. The private balcony looks out to the river and has an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. After a day exploring the Sequoia National Forrest we were ready for a good nights sleep and that's exactly what we got! The bed was comfortable and the sound of the river lulled us to sleep. We spent the next day lounging around the property, we made breakfast in the outdoor kitchen. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, stove, sink, cookware, plates, utensils, and cooking basics & spices! Next, we hung out in and around the river. There are huge rocks to lay out in the sun or comfy lounge chairs on the banks. The water was cold, but a nice relief from the heat. At the recommendations of the owners we went to dinner at the Buck-A-Roo. It was great outdoor dinning along with river.
