Good people: Kathy the owner/contact was most accommodating and genuinely concerned about helping us enjoy our stay.
Good places: The cottage is located on the first street you encounter walking into town from the ferry port. The living/dining room is spacious with a wall of windows looking out to the street. The roof-top deck provides panoramic views of the island.
Good things: Great six-burner chef's stove and new fridge. Games and puzzles to help keep the kids (and adults) entertained on a rainy day.

We loved the big common area with 2 couches and 2 tables. The location was SO convenient to everything!
I wish there were a way to flip a switch to light up the deck at night, and that the porch light was operational. But everything else was perfect.

Everything about the stay was flawless. The instructions and communication before arrival were complete and clear. The home was clean, stocked with everything you need to cook. The location is perfect, just a few flat blocks to the Main Street and beach. This is our 2nd stay at Summer Love and my friends and I had a beautiful trip. We will be back again next year!

The property is well put together and perfect for us. We had 3 of our adult kids and two plus ones so a total of 8 and the house accommodated us perfectly. Enjoyed morning coffee and evening wine on the roof top patio. Great location for walking to the boardwalk and eateries. Kathy, thank you for everything. 🙏

We had the most amazing time in Avalon staying at Kathy’s beautiful home. It was the perfect setting for my family who were all there celebrating my mom’s 60th birthday. We all agreed that it had the best energy and location! We are already planning our trip back and will definitely be staying at Kathy’s. Thank you!!!

After many years staying at another property on the island, we have found this wonderful home. It accommodated our seven member family comfortably. It has a bright and airy living space, comfortable beds and the kitchen is fully equipped. In addition, a huge plus is the upstairs deck for lounging and dining. We bc are already planning our next visit!

This home is such a lovely place to stay! The cleanliness, the charm, the location and the communication was on point. Myself and another friend who stayed with me are already talking about the next time we have the opportunity to stay at this home on Catalina Island! We had a wonderful stay at this property! The location was perfect for our family and everything we needed was in walking distance. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with linens and supplies. We very much enjoyed the rooftop deck! For me personally, the beds were very comfortable! I rarely sleep well in new places and I slept like a baby both nights we were there. I would definitely consider this property again! It is great for kids and adults alike.

Its a nice short walk to the town area. The vrbo is very cozy inside. Nice roof deck area to hang out at night or while the family finishes getting ready to go. Would definitely recommend.

We came during the week for a family get away with older teenagers. The house was super central from the boat, activities and vons but tugged away from it all. With a glass of wine on the beautiful rooftop terrace, you could still sense the old days of beach bungalow life, sleepy quiet and dreamy restfulness: exactly what we needed. With all that, the house was well maintained, with fresh paint, clean and well equipped.
The hosts were super responsive, very clear in their explanations and accommodating in ways that really changed our stay. Thank you for all of that.

this was a great place to stay and the owner was so speedy in responding to a request to fix the grill we had expected to use.. it was replaced in a day with a brand new one.. yay!! it is located in a great spot!!!! nice and roomy space and brand new appliances in kitchen with a beautiful new stove and griddle.. well done!!

The cottage has all the unique charm and classic character you’d expect on Catalina Island. It’s spacious and the upstairs deck is a wonderful place to relax, soak up some sun and then chill with family and friends as the sun sets on Avalon. It’s a special place.

Our recent stay was everything I had hoped for!
The highlights of the cottage were the rooftop deck, the open family room with its abundant windows, the upgraded stove, the comfortable beds and the location of the cottage couldn't have been more ideal! It was conveniently situated so were able to walk everywhere!
The host, Kathy and Linda were fantastic hosts. They were responsive, accommodating, and provided us with all the necessary information for a smooth check-in process.
Without a doubt, we would wholeheartedly choose to rent this lovely cottage again in the future.

Had a great time visiting Catalina. The property was in great shape and provided everything we needed. Kathy was a wonderful host to work with.
Pros: fully equipped kitchen, BBQ grill available, nice instructions throughout, easy access to everywhere we wanted to go, nice deck to chill on.

We had a wonderful 5 day/4 night stay at this charming house. It was just a couple blocks to the beach and main shopping strip. The grocery store was just around the corner which was very convenient. We noticed lots of little 1920’s details around the house that they’ve kept and maintained. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond. We would definitely rent this property again.

I brought my three daughters (and one friend) to Catalina for spring break. The house was absolutely perfect for those traveling with younger ones. Very close to all of the fun and the essentials (Vons). Really flat as well, which is extra convenient with a tot in tow. The house had everything we needed, was clean, and comfortable. I can not say enough good things. None of us wanted to leave, and we will certainly be back.

Kathy was a wonderful host, more than accommodating for any questions and requests. The ferry was cancelled on our departure date and she quickly replied to help us extend the stay for another night. The house was older, but perfect for a large group. Location is central, couldn’t be better. Only note for winter travelers is that winds on the island can be high and the front room with pull out couch has older windows, so doesn’t get as much even heat as the bedrooms. Regardless, we had a great time. Would recommend to anyone looking for a homey getaway.

Summer love cottage was a perfect spot for our mother daughter trip. The house is so comfortable with all the amenities you could need. We were a group of 6 adults and we all had room to relax and enjoy the gorgeous weather, roof deck was great! The location couldn’t be better, 10 minute walk to the ferry, 5 minutes to town, easy access to the grocery store. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Location location location! Easy walking distance to everything and its NOT up hill! This is not common on the island. Lovely patio very comfortable beds cozy living room. Can't wait to go back. Host was wonderful and accommodating.

Our stay at the Summer Love cottage was lovely! We stayed four days and took advantage of everything Avalon had to offer. Kathy and Linda gave easy instructions to entering and staying at their home. It was also in a perfect location to walk anywhere. We were able to walk to Vons for snacks, drinks and things to make meals. We could easily walk to all the shops, restaurants and beaches. All around it was a perfect location and enough room to make 6 people comfortable! We also loved the roof top deck. It was just missing a golf cart but we were able to rent one in town. We will definitely be back for another visit!

It was great being able to rent a whole house for our family of six instead of having to get two hotel rooms. Plus we had the convenience of being able to make our own food if we wanted which is helpful since one of our kids has a peanut allergy and can make it difficult finding a place to eat. We enjoyed the puzzles and games when there was downtime too. We were here for our daughter’s birthday and she loved it. We were worried about having to rent a golf cart for six people but we never needed one. We were easily able to walk everywhere we needed. Lots of great food nearby as well. Owners were very responsive if we had questions. Thank you!!!

This property had very comfortable beds. This is always an important item. It was also well equipped with everything that we needed in the kitchen. This location can be a little noisy as it is a main thoroughfare but it did not bother us and quiet at night. It is also very conviently located. Very easy to get to the grocery and very close to the water and restaraunts.

We loved the home.and Catalina decor. The house was clean and organized. Vons is just two blocks away and very convenient. We grilled on the roof balcony in the evening. We will definitely come back again. Kathy was quick to respond to my text and available when I had questions . We enjoyed the home very much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay in Avalon, and so thankful we chose this location. Short walk to the beach, grocery store, and all of the fun in the area. At the same time, we found it to be relatively quiet and a great spot to relax. We loved the outdoor space on top, and the bright and airy living area below. Bedrooms are towards the back with the extra privacy, and the kitchen is well-stocked and spacious. Lots of space to spread out and enjoy all that the island has to offer. Thank you, Kathy, for your responsiveness to our questions, and we look forward to staying again next summer.
