Nestled in Pacific Palisades, this attractive house for $826 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Fantastic tree top and whitewater ocean views are yours for the asking. Our 2 level family home is nestled in the exclusive Santa Monica Canyon known its tranquility and fabulous flora and fauna just a short walking distance to the Pacific Ocean. Only minutes away from downtown Santa Monica with incredible, shopping, farmer's markets, theaters, restaurants, and world famous pier. This charming house is perfect for entertaining with an open flow feeling and lots of natural light, hardwood floors and a cool ocean breeze that keeps the temperature comfortable all year long. There are four Redwood trees on the property and an enormous ocean view deck that is furnished with tables and chairs for outdoor dining as well as lounge chairs for relaxing in the sun. Each room has French doors opening out to either the garden or deck with canyon and ocean views. About 5 houses away in either direction are hidden steps leading down towards the beach (a 5 minute walk) and wonderful local restaurants. The other set leads up one more level towards Rustic Canyon Park which boasts a shaded playground, tennis courts, basketball, baseball and a local pool. This cook's country style kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. There is a separate laundry room with washer and dryer plus gas burning fireplaces in both the master and living room. This is a very child friendly home with a tree house in the garden. Utilities, Gas fireplaces, air conditioning, heat, Satellite TVs with DVR, stereo, Sonos hookup, FIOS high speed WiFi, gas BBQ and garage parking for one vehicle ( sedans and average size SUVs). Great house. Tons of room for our family. Back deck had views of the ocean and Rustic Canyon. Great location for exploring. Less than a 2 mile run to will rogers state park or 5 minutes to the beach. Can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed here for five nights while visiting family in Westwood. The neighborhood is quiet, yet convenient to PCH and other main streets. The house was very clean; kitchen well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. The host responds quickly to any question. We will definitely book this location again.

Beautiful property, exactly as portrayed on VRBO site. Fully equipped for cooking. Host went well above and beyond by retrieving a piece of jewelry we left behind and making arrangements to return it.

This is a charming house, spotless, comfortable, well-outfitted with a gorgeous deck, view of the ocean, surrounded by birds and trees. The location is great: 7 minute walk to Ocean Blvd overlooking the ocean or about 10 minutes to walk right on the beach. There are restaurants, grocery stores, Starbucks, shopping--everything you need nearby. It made me wish I lived there.
We had two sets of houseguests--a couple and then our family. There was plenty of room, and everyone loved it.
Bader, our host, could not have been more attentive. The house already had everything we needed, but she was quick to answer any questions and was always attentive. Great experience all around.

This is a beautiful and comfortable home with an amazing ocean view and wonderful deck/patio spaces. We loved that it was so relaxing and quiet but also walking distance to a nice shopping/restaurant area and to the beach. The host makes everything very easy! It was hard to leave and we hope to return.

Staying at a home away from home
Truly a great place to stay, short walk to the beach and local spots, easy for Ubers etc to find, central to many things in between Santa Monica, Hollywood/BH, and Malibu, and very relaxing. Host was very communicative and no issues with check in and out process. House felt like staying at a friends, immaculate views and a beautiful garden for a peaceful experience.

I can’t fully express how we loved every last inch of the house, the gardens, the view and the neighborhood. In the Morning when I’d have coffee on the deck if see hummingbirds. At night while i watched the stars come out I’d see an owl. The house is solid and decorated on a way that you feel right at home. The host was attentive and checked in frequently, nothing went wrong while we were there. Everything is fully stocked to cook, just go to the Ralph’s up the hill in the Pacific Palisades and get what your family needs and you’ll start to imagine that you’re lucky enough to live there. I hope to return several more times in the future.

My family & I stayed at Bader’s lovely home & enjoyed her beautiful landscaping & gardens & watching all the humming birds while we sat on the porch drinking our coffee. Paradise

This was our first longer-term house rental so we were nervous about it, but everything about this experience was first-rate. The location is very well-suited for anyone looking to concentrate on the West Side-Santa Monica part of L.A. Avid walkers, we loved the house's relative proximity to the beach and to Santa Monica's Palisades Park. As for the house itself - it was very bright, inviting and comfortable, with a well-furnished kitchen, attractive and comfortable bedrooms and living spaces, and roomy deck spaces (unfortunately we visited during an uncharacteristically cool and wet winter, so could not take advantage of the decks as often as we'd have liked. We took full advantage of the fireplaces, though). The house easily accommodated the two of us, along with a few visitors who passed through during our one-month stay. A one-car attached garage took care of us, but on-street parking is pretty limited so visitors typically had to park a half-block or so away. The owner was very friendly and responsive, both before our stay (answering questions, giving advice on local matters), and while we were there, even coming over quickly once when a power outage hit, followed by immediately ordering and sending over an emergency lantern in case it happened again. Couldn't be better
We had a great time at Bader's house. Everything exactly as described, awesome location, very comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and I could go on and on. So many great things to mention about this property. This house doesn't feel like a rental, but truly as a home away from home. I highly recommend staying at Bader's house in the Santa Monica Canyon. We certainly will do so again.

We just spent 9 nights at this lovely home! We required a wheelchair accessible living space for my daughter, and this home definelty met our needs! EvEverything was clean, and tidy, and any questions we had, were responded to quickly.The location is more centrally located, than one would think (due to the windy roads). It just takes a moment to get one's bearings. The neighbourhood is pretty, and peaceful, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable, yet, upscale place to stay.

Outstanding rental in Santa Monica
we stayed here for four nights in may - 2 adults and 4 children - and we all loved this place. Lots of space for everyone - beautiful gardens and two decks - plus a view of the ocean. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, but a short drive (or a not-to-far walk) to the beach. The owner was very helpful with anything we needed. Highly recommended. We would come again (and hopefully stay for a longer time).

Perfect Place to Rendezvous
With half the family living in London and the other Sydney we were looking for the home away from home which was half way between the two. We certainly found it, as soon as we entered the front door we immediately felt comforted and relaxed and like we had always been together. This home away from home was ideal to support a long overdue family catch up.
The house is wonderfully equipped. There is very possible utensil etc you could want in the kitchen to make perfect family meals. The laundry and drying facilities are big enough to fit huge piles of clothes in. The beds and bedding are lovely and comfy - no problems sleeping.
As for location for us it was ideal. Although a car might make it easier if you plan on doing all the LA sites, for us our holiday was about spending time together. Walking to the beach is nothing and the buses in the Santa Monica a breeze. There is actually a lot to see and do around Santa Monica so we never felt the need to head far away.
Lastly dealing with Bader was excellent. Nothing was ever too much trouble and everything was done as she said it would be.
All up the most perfect stay and certainly a place to highly recommend.

Paradise! Close to everything, but private for quiet time!
This house is so much more than expected. The picture doesn't do it justice. The linens were high quality, the kitchen had everything you need to prepare multitude of meals, and the view is spectacular! The beach is a great walk away as well as restaurants! Check out all the shops on Montana St. If you are a Santa Monica vacationer, I promise that this house & it's location will give you a new perspective on the area. Our 9-month old loved it and she's very picky ;-)

Bliss! A beautiful & tranquil oasis in SM Canyon
I'm a local SM gal who had to have a bit of surgery & my family came in from NY for a week to help me recoup. We all stayed at Bader's gorgeous home - 4 adults/2 children (kids ages 7& 5). It was absolutely perfect. The kids loved the tree house, the bunk beds & all the fun games & toys Bader provided, which even included bikes & scooters!! We walked to the beach & all through the beautiful canyon streets. It's such a peaceful, private, lovely spot... I know that I was able to rest & start feeling great again so much more quickly as a result of being there. Magical place!! We had the best time. Bader is a wonderful host, was incredibly thoughtful & attentive to needs/likes of all of us (grandma to little ones). Staying here was one of our family's greatest summer highlights! I would highly recommend this amazing home to anyone. Thank you, Bader!

Total House Envy!
It is not often that you find a house like this to stay in. I say this because when I travel with my two boys, we enjoy staying in private homes instead of hotels, because it feels more like home and we are not a big restaurant family. But sometimes it feels like we are intruding, but not here. To be able to stay in this lovely, tranquil, beautifully appointed home was great, but to feel perfectly at home was a real treat for us. The moment we walked in the kids felt at home and I relaxed. The furnishings are crazy comfortable, the bed linens and towels were exquisite and the owner's kitchen is so well-stocked, I was actually a bit jealous that she gets to cook in this kitchen everyday. Oh did I mention the bathtub, no crazy bubbles or jets, just deep and long, perfect for our tall family. Two outdoor spaces with terrific views gave us the chance to chat late into the night and have fresh Cali breakfasts while watching the hummingbirds buzz around and the mist roll off the Pacific. The walk to the beach is a breeze, even with a somewhat cranky six year old. The market on Montana is a short drive and has everything you'll need. Finally, her selection of books for adults and kids was a perfect fit for my family and she even left us the Wii,which I am eternally grateful for. An intimate, canyon experience not to be missed. We can't wait to book here again.

Serene and comfortable
Beautiful house and gardens, with great privacy and a nice view. The house and outdoor spaces are very well appointed, beautifully decorated and yet so comfortable and inviting. The kitchen has anything you would normally need, the linens are excellent and the entire place was scrupulously clean. The best part for me was the wonderfully comfortable bed in the master bedroom. It's often difficult to sleep when away from home, but the master suite was a quiet comfortable refuge and the bed was fantastic.
We would definitely stay again.

rustic canyon house
Our family of 6 plus dog enjoyed a happy and relaxing 3-week stay in this idyllic Los Angeles location. True to the owner's description this is a very comfortable and family-friendly home in a beautiful and peaceful residential neighborhood. We took advantage of the home's proximity to the beach and terrific neighborhood parks, excellent shopping and restaurants in Santa Monica, Brentwood, and the Palisades. Our children appreciated the games and toys left for their use and the owner and house manager were very pleasant to deal with. This was our first VRBO experience and it met our expectations, thank you!

A terrific place to stay!
I just spent a week in this home, my first vacation using this type of service. And it was an absolute pleasure.
I was traveling with my wife, our young son, and my parents, and we all stayed comfortably in the house.
The home itself is a warm, comfortable place to stay, with a spectacular ocean view, large master bedroom and a homey, inviting style. Everything described by the owner was exactly as promised.
The location, while quiet and peaceful, was very close to everything we wanted and needed. The beach, shopping, and major roads and highways were only a few minutes' drive. Our first trip to LA, we took in (and highly recommend) the Getty Museum, Griffith Observatory, Hollywood Boulevard, Venice Beach and so much more.
This is a perfect home-away-from-home for any family traveling to Santa Monica, and the owner was very accommodating and easy to deal with.

Dream home in Dream location
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely and comfortable home! Every day we had breakfast on your peaceful, sunny deck overlooking the ocean! We enjoyed our walks to the beach and the bike rides along the water. We loved walking to the beautiful Rustic Canyon Park where we played tennis. In the evenings we strolled Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and had dinner while people watching. The restaurant and bar "The Hungry Cat", a few walking minutes from your house was our favorite! We will be back for more good vibes!
