About this condo rental
Located in Imperial Beach, this charming condo for $200 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. A 2 bedroom, 2 bath (sleeps 8) family friendly beach retreat overlooking the Pacific Ocean in a secure condominium complex with a pool, jacuzzi, poolside barbecue area and underground parking. Located on a long stretch of relatively quiet Southern California beach. Surfing, beach volleyball, basketball courts, children's playground and bike riding paths all easily accessible. Several good restaurants, local shops and markets within easy walking distance. A full service spa in the Pier South hotel one block away. Bike to Coronado along the Silver Strand. A short drive to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo, downtown San Diego, and the International US/Mexico border. Imperial Beach Water Advisories During 2023 water advisories resulting from overflow from the Tijuana River and other cross border flows increased substantially. Historically this has been only an issue during winter storms. Significant Federal funding has been ear-marked to address the issue, so we can only hope both governments will proceed with some efficiency. You can check the status of water advisories at the San Diego County Beach and Bay Water Quality Program site I am providing further context from my personal observations if it is helpful. These are not professional assessments. These estimates were made by me using Google maps, walking the area on foot and conferring with the IB lifeguards. The Imperial Beach Club (IBC) condo complex is located approximately 3.5 miles from the Mexican border if you were to travel along the coast line. IBC is located at the very northern end of water zone Imperial Beach Pier (EH-030); slightly over a mile from the south end of Seacoast Drive. The next water zone is Silver Strand Campground (IB-070), approximately .25 mile north of IBC. There are three levels of water quality alerts: 1. Advisory: beach water exceeds State standards 2. Warning: beach water exceeds State standards and there are transboundary flows which may bring sewage contaminated water 3. Closure: there are sewage or chemical releases when the Tijuana River is flowing or sewage can be detected by water odor or discoloration. Imperial Beach has recently experienced sustained advisories or warnings. The beach is open during these water advisories/warnings. Citations are not issued for individuals who choose to go in the water. You may cancel your reservation at any time without penalty if EH-030 is under a water advisory.

We feel so lucky to find such an amazing and affordable place on the beach. The owner was outstanding. Housekeeper responded within minutes. Super easy check in and out. Place has absolutely everything you need. Kind of like staying at a friend’s condo. Going to book our next vacation here as soon as we get home. Thank you so much for an awesome vacation!

The condo was a perfect fit for our family spring break! We just stepped right onto the beach from the property! Having a secure parking garage and locked entrances to the property helped with feeling of safety in what is already a very nice neighborhood!

We stayed here for 10 nights with our almost 3 year old, and it was such a great spot. The pictures really don't do this place justice, and we realized it's because it's been renovated and has new furniture than what is shown.
The ocean view is breathtaking and the beach is lovely and quiet. You literally step out of the condo and onto the beach. It wasn't really beach weather in Dec/Jan, but we still enjoyed playing in the sand with all the included sand toys, and going for nice walks. There are several great restaurants close by, and a few great breweries.
There are lots of great board games, books and even kids books at the condo for enjoyment- we played several games after our little guy went to bed and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to cook with.
This place was quite spacious for just the three of us, and could easily accommodate a larger family or two groups of friends.
While this was in the South end of San Diego, we had quick highway access to everything we wanted to enjoy- the Zoo, the aquarium, Mission Beach, Coronado Island, Shopping etc.
Overall a fantastic place- if we ever come back to San Diego we would stay here again!

We had our family of 6 here for about a week long stay. The place is not overly huge (a little deceiving with the use of lots of floor to ceiling mirrors), but it provided enough room for our family to not be cramped, even with extra comfortable beds to spare. The place has been updated quite a bit from the pictures in the listing. For the most part the updated decor is great (minus the naked lady painting in the living room that we had to take down during our stay).
The place is really well stocked with everything from beach towels to boogie boards. If you need anything for the beach, this place probably has it for you. And on the topic of beaches, the view from the window and private deck is so nice! I could stare out over that view for so long. While Imperial Beach may not be the most perfect beach, it's very decent. The whole area (complex and neighborhood) feels a little "beach grunge" but it's about what you'd expect for the price. The complex has a pool, hot tub, BBQ grills, picnic tables, and an outdoor shower (for coming in from the beach).
The overall location is good. There are decent restaurants and grocery stores a short distance away and access to the I-5 is pretty good from this location. Most major San Diego attractions are only about a 30 minute drive from this place.
All in all I would recommend this place. Sure, it wasn't the cleanest or nicest, but decent enough for sure. If you have a family or group of about a half dozen people and want a good beach access on a budget, this is really hard to beat.
Lastly, a shout out to the host who was awesome with communication by text, despite VRBO's messaging system having some maintenance issues.
