Nestled in Kailua-Kona, this lovely cottage for $159 per night is a great choice for your next trip. We are located on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii, directly above Kailua-Kona, on the side of Mt Hualalai, in Holualoa, with an awesome ocean and coastline view! Please read our reviews because the view from the cottage lanai is better than we can describe in words! Our custom built studio cottage is about 500 sq. feet with a roomy wide lanai, and special bistro high seating to enjoy the fabulous ocean view. MUST see to appreciate! The cool elevation of our cottage is 1400 ft. with a beautiful view of the coastline over Honokohau Harbor. The sunsets we get to enjoy are incredible! The coqui frogs will sing to you in the early eve but quiet down during the middle of the night. Some call them them "night singing birds". Holualoa town itself, is a small quaint art village now, and a classic old small Hawaiian town with lots of history. Holualoa area is a very preferred area to stay and live because of the cooler temperatures, Kona coffee country all around, coastline views, and it's close proximity to town. There are several events in our village including "First Fridays" each month when local artists, musicians, food booths and more are all along the streets through Holualoa Town. We love Holualoa and know you will too!

The property is a great place for a couple to stay on the Big Island. It was close to kailua-kona and in the middle of the Kona coffee belt, making it convenient for meals and activities. The property is secluded and beautiful and was a nice place to relax in the evenings and between activities.

A little bit off the beaten path but quiet and relaxing with a wonderful ocean view. Very clean and has everything one could need for a perfect vacation. Hosts did a wonderful job with communication and support with the property. We loved watching both the sunrises and especially the sunsets during our stay. We hope to be able to say again soon.

Berta and Billy are marvelous hosts and have the most adorable cottage overlooking the ocean. We will absolutely return in a heartbeat! The was no detail overlooked in this spacious home.

We had a wonderful stay at Billy and Berta’s gorgeous cottage. It far exceeds the rental listing photos. Very friendly hosts greeted us on arrival and saw us off upon our departure. This is a very well-appointed accommodation with everything one could need, and more, for a very comfortable stay. Fantastic lanai with epic, expansive view and stunning sunsets. Very private and quiet. Will be returning to stay again without hesitation.

This home is wonderful, sitting on a hillside overlooking great sunsets each night. It’s near several Kona coffee plantations, and a quick drive down to the beaches and towns. We would highly recommend it!

I had an unforgettable stay at this studio cottage. Berta and Billy were exceptionally kind and had thought of everything to make my experience perfect. From the well-stocked kitchen to the cozy living area, every detail was carefully considered. The cottage is surrounded by lush gardens and offers breathtaking views of the ocean. It's a peaceful oasis, perfect for a relaxing getaway. I can't recommend this place enough – it's a true gem on the Big Island. I'll definitely be returning for another stay in paradise.

The view is absolutely amazing! Roberta made everything about staying here easy. Excellent check in and check out instructions and let us know she was available if anything was needed. Everything was also very clean, especially the bathroom. We really enjoyed our time and would definitely stay here again!

This cottage was a perfect home away from home for us on the Big Island. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay: a well-stocked kitchen, tasteful and comfy furnishings, lots of beach gear, and amazing views from the lanai. The sunsets were fantastic! Berta and Billy were friendly and helpful hosts, and they have provided everything you could need. We loved our stay here!

Fantastic hosts. Immaculate, well-appointed cottage. Inspiring views (especially sunsets). Easy to navigate from this location. Very safe, lovely neighborhood. Super comfortable bed. My husband and I were both very pleased. It looks better in person than in the pictures! Highly recommend this property.

My daughter and I stayed in this lovely cottage for three nights, and wished we could have stayed longer. Berta and Billie were fabulous and friendly hosts, the cottage was so peaceful and pretty, and we enjoyed being up and a bit away from the more developed and busy areas along Ali'i Drive. We'd come back to this cottage in a heartbeat!

My wife and I are fortunate to have visited Hawaii more than 20 times, with at least 20 stays in a VRBO. No matter how nice or clean, you can nitpick something. Maybe it’s a loud neighborhood, parking is crowded or just an inconvenient location. This place was perfect for us! We loved the cottage, so much that by the end of our stay we were scheduling to be on the lanai in the evening to watch the sunset. Relaxing, perfect temperature. The cottage was clean and inviting, beautifully landscaped. My wife and I have back issues, but the bed was very comfortable. We felt secluded and safe. The location is convenient to all of Kona. The Tommy Bahama chairs and umbrella were like new. Berta and Billy were kind and friendly. I’ve wracked my brain trying to think of a negative and I’ve got TWO things; one, we didn’t get to meet the dogs and cat and two, we had to leave.

My friend and I really enjoyed staying at the ohana. The space was very clean. I really appreciate it all the extra touches that were provided by the hosts. The cooler weather made all the difference and I would definitely stay here again.

This cottage is absolutely beautiful. The hosts have thought of everything one might need. It is a place to rest, rejuvenate and a 15-20 minute drive to great snorkeling beaches, restaurants or nature walks. I hope to return! I was unaware of the sound of the Coqui frogs before coming to the Big Island - but of course, even two types of earplugs were provided should their calls keep you awake! Never had better hosts!!

What a perfect cottage for a relaxing getaway! The views and sunsets are unparalled! There is everything you need for a comfortable stay. Loved the fact that it is located away from all the crowds and hustle, but yet a short drive from beaches, parks and the heart of Kona! The owners are lovely people and readily available if there is anything you need. Can't wait to come back!!

Was a great cottage with beautiful views. It was quite a distance from the ocean. I thought the pictures made it look closer but that was probably my error. The cottage was stocked with everything you could possibly need for a stay including little extras like bag chip holders and soft sided coolers. One note is that the hosts are right above the cottage and we didn't know until we saw the rules sheet that they don't allow smoking anywhere on their property, not even outside. My fiancé smokes and while he doesn't even smoke inside at home, having an accommodation for outside smokers would be nice or at least make that very clear in the description of the property. He had to take a nice little hike down a hill (and back up) to have a smoke. Just good to know for any smokers. We actually met the hosts since they live right next to and overlooking the property. They were very, very nice!

We had a great time staying at this cottage. It is so cute and cozy. Everything is decorated nicely with all the amenities you would need. We loved coming back to eat dinner on the lanai and watch the sunset of the beautiful view. Bonus was having beach equipment that we could take and use for the day. The hosts were very friendly and we would definitely recommend this place.
