About this house rental
Located in Opal Cliffs, this charming house for $638 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. We think you will fall in love with this perfect house (SCC Permit #171257) just steps from the beach. It is a 5-minute shortcut through the estuary to the Moran State beach. (Don't let VRBO confuse you... they calculate 12 minutes to the beach based on the streets, not the locals' shortcut.). This family-friendly 3br/2.5ba getaway has also been equipped for remote work (see below). Our secluded, quiet street nestled up against the peaceful Moran County Park estuary is perfectly appointed for your comfort and enjoyment--a perfect change of scenery for families looking for a great getaway. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs that sleep 8 (1 king in master, 1 queen in the guest room, and 2 sets of bunk beds in the 3rd room). There are 2.5 baths--two full upstairs and a half downstairs--plus an outdoor shower. The private master bath has two sinks, enclosed toilet and a rain shower. We provide all the linens--bed, bath and beach--and soap, shampoo and conditioner. Hear the waves crash and enjoy the 360-degree views from the amazing rooftop deck that has 2 chaise lounges and relaxing seating for 8—a delight for sunrise coffee or wine and cheese at sunset. The house is freshly updated with a beautiful remodeled open and well-equipped kitchen, a spacious family room with plenty of comfy seating, gas fireplace, large modern dining table, garage rec room, outdoor shower with hot water, a back patio with dining and lounge seating and BBQ, and two smart TVs with cable to make your vacation a dream. If you need to work while you are there, we have HDMI monitors on desks in the master and guest bedrooms. There is also a desk in the bunk room. The house is well-located. It’s only a short stroll from the famed Pleasure Point surfing area. You can meander in the estuary, walk to shops and restaurants on 41st Ave or the quaint Capitola Village, or pop onto 26th Ave beach for surfing and long beach walks through Twin Lakes beach. Perfect for families and adults, the house is stocked with plenty of games and puzzles and there is a supply of boogie boards, beach chairs, beach toys and a beach cart to get all the fun down to the beach! We have a porta crib, sheets for a babies and a portable stair gate for toddlers. We would love to have you stay and enjoy it as much as we do! Feel free to ask us any questions, or request to book right now! ***IMPORTANT NOTES*** QUIET HOURS/PARTIES: As indicated above, this house is in a serene enclave which is part of the house’s wonderful charm. Per county code, QUIET HOURS for all Santa Cruz rentals in the Live Oak area are 10pm to 8am. We like to be considerate to our neighbors and we don’t like to turn folks away—we love all our guests. But if you are looking to have a boisterous party long into the night, please look for another property. Thank you for your understanding. PARKING: Parking is limited. Only three cars may be associated with the rental of the house and only three cars can fit in the driveway. There is no available parking on our street.

Very well laid out property that is comfortable for 4 kids (in two bunk beds) and two couples. One bedroom is larger than the other. The rooftop is nice (weather dependent) and the beach - a bit small - is quite close. Coccoran (sic) beach is about 11 minutes away 4 driving, and quite nice. Park above the stairs on 20th.

Even though it was a little cooler than expected the week we were there, the close proximity to the beach, eating places and shops at Pleasure Point near Santa Cruz CA and the nearby towns made the week very enjoyable for all of us. We especially liked the walks, the beach, and visits to the wharf at Monterey and the town of Carmel. Thanks for a good time away from the heat in the Sacramento Valley!

Love the house, an location. Did not use outside areas dirty an covered in cobwebs. Roof top not clean as well. Upstairs bedrooms very hot hard to cool down to sleep need more fans no ac.An tv only in master bedroom. Kitchen was amazing need new pans, spacious home kids room was great, master great deck very dusty. Extra bedroom nice very small

Frig had ice maker great. Oh an I would add a special lock on door to roof for safety maybe high lock that kids can’t reach. We had no issue but did not use roof. This is a beautiful place had amazing time good for family or anyone. I love all the details they provide.

This home was ideal for our celebration. It was spacious and had everything we needed and it is beautiful. It is squeaky clean too! The owners have thought of every accommodation. The location is peaceful and close to all of my favorite walks and Santa Cruz places.

Gorgeous, spacious, sunny, perfectly appointed home with beautiful amenities. Perfect for a family with teens or kids. Listing was correct that beach is just at the end of the road- although for our taste, that beach was small and windy and we ended up driving every time we wanted beach time, and so we spent more time in the car than we would have liked. The actual street is quiet and quaint and friendly. I wouldn't change anything about the place!

Been renting in the Santa Cruz/Capitola area for 15 years.... this home has all you need... kitchen is stocked with the basic condiments... choices of oil... pots, pans, muffin tin , electric kettle... I know I sound impressed ... well we were ... we never experienced this before in 15 years!

This home had every comfort of my own. We loved the cleanliness and decor. Owners are very responsive and helpful. Definitely will stay here again. We had a large group and every one of us enjoyed the common spaces and bedrooms. The rooftop was perfect and had comfortable furnishings.

We had a wonderful time. We have kids ages 8,11 and 14. The house is beautiful and perfect for us. Easy walk to the beach. My only complaint is that we couldn’t live there 😂

This house was perfect for us, two adults and two grandkids. Very quiet neighborhood. The beach is just a short stroll away. You can hear the waves from the rooftop terrace, or from an open window in the master at night. The beds are very comfy. The kitchen well supplied with dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils. Very neat and clean throughout. Such an enjoyable location, great hosts, and a great time. Thank you!!

We had an amazing time at Jon and Emily’s house! Jon was so responsive to all my questions! The house was clean and roomy and decorated very cute. The rooftop was beautiful at sunset and the easy beach access with the kids was a major plus! We walked to pleasure point and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and had a great time watching the surfers. Lifelong memories were made! All around such a great time and can’t wait to go back!

Very nice house and all accommodations, very close to the beach within walking distance, had small children which made the walk to the beach easy and comfortable for all. The roof area was fun and amazing for the entire family while spending time together and viewing the beautiful sunset and ocean.
