Nestled in Opal Cliffs, this lovely house for $725 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Our 'Sandcastle' Beach House is perfect for a family vacation by the sea! Its unique, soothing architecture brings the beach right into your living area. Our 2 story plus (3rd story Loft and Crow’s Nest) home offers 2,300 square feet of large, bright open spaces lending itself to gatherings of family and friends…plenty of space to spread out. Our Beach House sleeps 12 in beds (10 adults plus kids)and we provide a queen AeroBed for 2 more guests in the den. Perfect for 2 families! We also provide a new porta crib and high chair for the babies! Located in a quiet neighborhood only 1 block from one of Santa Cruz’s best sandy and sunny beaches with steps to the sand at the end of our street. A short walk to Sunny Cove and the other East Cliff beaches, surfing and many great restaurants. Short drive to Capitola Village, Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk, hiking and golf. Only 40 minutes from San Jose International Airport and 1 ½ hours south of San Francisco. Nearby, you will find Monterey, Cannery Row, the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and beautiful Pebble Beach and Carmel…only a 30 to 45 minute drive south. The views from the Sandcastle are outstanding…cook and dine while watching the lights on the Monterey Bay through the large solarium windows. Enjoy dinners with sweeping views from the second floor deck and sip a glass of wine from the top of the ‘Castle’ on the Crow’s Nest. Gather with the family in the downstairs family room with comfortable sofas, games, Foosball, ping pong and wet bar with a NEW under counter professional clear ice maker and refrigerator. Discover the hidden spaces to sit and read and relax throughout the house. The house offers 3 spacious king bedrooms and a bunk room with two bunk beds. From the loft queen bedroom, you can lie in bed and enjoy whitewater views. FREE DOMESTIC LONG DISTANCE! Note: During the Summer season (mid June to end of July), we prefer to rent by the week. Weekly rentals are discounted. However, contact owner if you wish to book a partial week and we will accommodate you if possible. Sandcastle is a warm, welcoming and very friendly and comfortable home. We came with our adult children and grands and totally enjoyed our Christmas. The owners decorated for Christmas, which made it extra special. Thank you for making this special place available to us!

We booked this for Thanksgiving and then half of our family couldn't attend with us. This was still an amazing space for our family even by ourselves for the holiday. My 7 year old LOVED the loft room, and we appreciated all the beach toys to use. I just want to live in that living room the rest of my life.

The house was great for our annual friend/family together. The beds were comfortable with nice crisp white sheets. Layout was great, I wouldn't put small kids in the loft but it was perfect for the teenage girl in our group. Kitchen was well stocked. It is a block and a half to the beach and the house had plenty of boogie boards and chairs. Would rent again if in the area.

The stay was everything we needed and wanted for a handful of teens/kids and chaperones.
Only issues were door code was based off of Vrbo account (old cell number) but the Welcome letter had my new number as the code, so a bit confusing. Also, there were some ants, the fridge filters needed to be replaced and the water filter on the sink didn't work so we just drank tap water and hoped for the best (we were totally fine).
Teens stayed downstairs and had a great time with the bonus room, TV area and bunk beds. Younger kids and adults loved the loft and master bedroom.

Lovely property, house was decorated for us to enjoy our Christmas vacation. Super close to beach, my Grandchildren swam every day in the ocean. Plenty of towels, beach chairs they even had sweatshirts if you needed one😊.

As someone who often rents via VRBO and is also a VRBO host myself, I'm pretty picky and have pretty high standards. Having said this, the Sandcastle was loved by the entire group including me, from the moment we arrived.
It is just the right mix of comfort and style, with furniture that is comfy and beachy, all placed perfectly for views and conversations. There are enough king beds, and a great bunk room for the kids (and how about that cool loft??? Loved it!)
The kitchen was well stocked, everything was clean and easily accessed, and it was obvious to me the owner takes great pride and has carefully thought out what creates a great vacation house (and succeeded!)
The location is perfect, only a few houses to beautiful beach. Off street parting for everyone, and even an outside area to relax with a hammock and patio furniture. The game room was such a bonus. We have no teenagers at this stage of life, but what an asset and how fun! Room for everyone in this house, no matter what age group.
My best memories would include cocktail hour up in the crow's nest, and waking up to coffee in the mornings with the sun streaming through greenhouse window that encloses the sofa. Had a blast, would love to come again.

We used to live in Santa Cruz and return twice a year to visit. We always rent different places, depending on the size of the group. This time, there were 11 of us -- a big group (including four kids)! I was a little worried we would feel crowded, but we didn't at all. Indeed, the home was perfect! It is very nice without being excessively fancy (which isn't our style). The views of the ocean from the kitchen and the decks are absolutely wonderful (and the walk to the beach is maybe 3 minutes). The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. One thing that was surprisingly great was having the foos ball and ping pong table. They provided HOURS of fun, and a great way for kids and grandparents to play together. The Sandcastle was one of the best houses we have stayed in in Santa Cruz, and next time we come with such a big group, we will definitely stay here again!

This house was in a spectacular location in Santa Cruz. Just one block to the beach, close to shopping, as well as the Santa Cruz boardwalk, made this a perfect house for our extended family. The hosts were very helpful with any questions we had and the house was well stocked with LOTS of amenities. We can see why this house has many repeat renters.

Best Vacation Rental Ever!
This rental was truly the best place we’ve ever stayed at anywhere! It has a fully stocked kitchen which made it so easy to cook and bake for our friends and family. Loads of kid and adult friendly games, and a short walk to great beaches. And wonderful views!

The Sandcastle was perfect for our family of 10. Lots of room to spread out. The beach is a very short and easy walk. We’ll stocked kitchen ware. Lots to do for kids.

This was our second stay at this wonderful house for an annual girls getaway. There were 8 of us with more than enough room to hang out together and have our own beds. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to eat in and cook all our meals. The beach is close by and it's not far to tide pools. Natural Bridges and redwoods are 20 minutes away for some beautiful hikes. Love the views from the living room and waking up to the sounds of the ocean. And the hosts even decorated for the season. So nice! We hope to come back.
