Located in Opal Cliffs, this attractive villa for $420 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. This luxury second-floor Santa Cruz beach rental located a few houses from the beach exudes Mediterranean charm and offers panoramic ocean views of Monterey Bay. It was selected to appear on the show Sweet Retreats, which airs nationally on the ABC Live Well Network. A spacious living room, dining room and kitchen open onto an expansive rear deck. During your days, a short walk, without crossing any streets, leads to the top of a wood, railed stairway to the beach, and an outdoor shower awaits you upon your return. Spend a romantic evening listening to the waves crashing on the beach or drown them out with the surround sound state-of-the-art home theatre system for DVDs. Three bedrooms and two baths offer comfortable sleeping in beds for up to seven guests. The master bedroom, which also opens onto the rear deck, includes a gas fireplace, an HDTV, a Blu-ray player and Apple TV. A large walk-in closet provides ample storage for all your travel apparel. Enjoy the wonders of the natural world with stone floors in both bathrooms, granite countertops throughout, and three radiant skylights. This remodeled Santa Cruz beach house has insulated walls and double-pane windows, which will allow you to sleep peacefully even if the kids are still awake. So that you don’t lose touch with the outside world, high-speed wireless internet and video streaming are provided. Finally, a high-efficiency washer and dryer will ensure that your clothes come home just as clean as they were when you arrived. Our vacation home is packed with everything you will need to enjoy your escape, including: five beds; hypoallergenic comforter for each bed; two complete baths with granite countertops and stone floors and walls; a 55 inch 1080P LCD TV and 5 speaker in-ceiling surround sound in living room; a 40 inch 1080P LCD TV in master bedroom; Blu-ray Players for each TV, allowing for viewing both Blu-ray Discs and DVDs; Apple TV for each TV; beautiful gas fireplaces in both living room and master bedroom; a smartphone connection to the speakers in living room; a fully stocked kitchen that includes a refrigerator, a dual fuel range, a dishwasher and a microwave; and a dining room that accommodate six people at a table and three at a bar. We are located 40 minutes south of the San Jose Airport and 1.5 hours south of the San Francisco Airport and 30 minutes north of Carmel and Monterey. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is about a 10 minute drive; ride the historic Big Dipper and enjoy a great family outing. The Santa Cruz harbor is just over a mile to the west, where you can check out the lighthouse and some nice restaurants. Pleasure Point, where you can experience some of the best surfing in the United States, is only a short mile away. Capitola is less than 3 miles to the east; take a walk down the pier or cruise around the local shops. Unfortunately, there is no access to garage and no indoor storage for bicycles. It was a huge and happy surprise to walk in for the first time to a beautiful view of the ocean. We didn't know it was that good. Our family came from various parts of California to spend Thanksgiving here and enjoyed every aspect of being in the house. It has a unique design. The kitchen is well stocked. It's centrally located. And very clean. Well worth it.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The layout was perfect for our family, with rooms the kids loved, and a lovely master bedroom. The views from the back deck were stunning - we spent a lot of time relaxing there. Walking to the beach was a breeze, as was getting to Capitola, the Boardwalk, restaurants, etc. Best of all - everyone slept really well, and definitely better than we have anywhere outside our own home.

We had an excellent week. Great Ocean and Beach views from the Balcony and living room. The host was very accommodating and communicative. Took long walks on the beach and relaxed on the balcony to the sounds of the ocean. Hope to stay again soon.

Our group of 5 had a great stay. The house had everything we needed and the location cannot be beat! Great house for generations staying together. The older folks can sit on the deck and enjoy the view while others hit the beach. The access is just a few houses away. The owner is super responsive and easy to work with. This is our second stay and hope to stay again in the future!

What an ideal property. Watch the sunset from the comfort of the living room, sit on the deck and sunbathe, cuddle up by the fire while listening to the waves crashing on the shore…this property is everything you want in a beach house. The kitchen is well stocked if you enjoy cooking. Easy and quick walk to the sand. 20 minute walk to shops and restaurants. If you want to splurge on a beach vacation this is the spot. There is a large steep staircase to get inside so if you have trouble going up and down stairs that can be a little troublesome. We would absolutely come again! It was perfect for us!

This is an excellent property, among the many rental choices in Santa Cruz. We have been going to Santa Cruz for over 20 years and have stayed in several rentals in the area, and this is definitely in our top 2! Having the ocean view was great! We had our windows open and heard the waves all day and night. And the beach is a 5 minute walk, so close!
Traffic on East Cliff can be a little noisy in the 2 back bedrooms, with the windows open, but the other pluses made up for that. The master has the best setup, with en-suite and walk in closet.
The furniture is comfortable and in good condition. We loved the open floor plan. The outdoor deck furniture is also of very good quality and well maintained. The beds and linens are fine. We were a little disappointed that there weren’t any beach towels, but we made do bringing our own.
The kitchen is very well stocked. We like to eat in and we had all the pots, pans and dishes we needed. Love the Fiestaware! All the appliances were good and basic kitchen spices and supplies were there.
Edward was very up front when we made the reservation about the construction going on next door. We took the property knowing that, and it was only a slight distraction. Hopefully they will be done sometime in the next year!! But just a heads up.
We will definitely be booking again for next year!

The property was immaculately kept and exactly as advertised. It was a short, easy walk to the beach and the views from living/dining area and master bedroom were fantastic. I have never stayed in such a well stocked rental either...the owner literally had everything in the kitchen you could possibly need. He also left very detailed instructions on how to work the electronics, etc. which is something that I have had to struggle with at other rentals in the past. Overall fantastic stay and experience!

We loved our stay. The house is lovely, with quality touches from the solid wood doors to the beautiful cabinetry, and the location is wonderful. We especially loved listening to the waves going to sleep at night.
The kitchen was well stocked. ( a blow dryer in the bathroom would be a helpful addition.)
It may be COVID related but we would have loved more pillows on the beds and throw pillows on the sofas.
Ed was an available and communicative host.
