Charming Country Home Nestled In Kenwood Village the heart of the wine country.
About this house rental
Located in Kenwood, this lovely house for $470 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Maison Jacqueline is a country home located in Sonoma county's Valley of the Moon and in the heart of the wine county. It appeals to local San Franciscans and out of town folks as well. It is only 1.5 hours from SF airport. Maison Jacqueline is a country cottage styled with good taste and comfort, combining local charm and modern living. When you cross over the foot bridge and enter through the gate you feel instantly relaxed. Especially when you see the hot tub...wink...She has 3 bedrooms, 1 den, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen with indoor and out door dining areas. The living room has a flat screen TV giving friends and family a center for entertainment. There is a wrap around deck with a gas grill, a dining area and a lounge area. Maison Jacqueline was recently renovated featuring new hardwood floors, windows, new appliances and fixtures. She has a wrap around deck with 3 shade umbrellas, and a Weber gas grill. My favorite is the hot tub tucked away under the plum trees. It is a little piece of heaven... The scenic drive from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco is just the beginning of your amazing getaway. Lakeview highway is the route that takes you through hills and valleys covered in grape vines and fields of wheat as far as the eye can see. You will see horse ranches ranging from “mini” horses to Clydesdales, more recognizably know as the Budweiser horses. It will take your breath away! Stop at the eclectic Earnie’s Tin Bar frequented by the locals for a sophisticated microbrew on your way. Quirky and fun! End your 1.5 hour journey from SF at the doorstep of Maison Jacqueline. A breath of fresh air and a pocket of heaven. Google Sonoma County Regional Parks facilities. It's a great site for out door activities. Kenwood is in the heart of Sonoma wine country, lying east of Sonoma Creek in the upper part of Sonoma Valley. “The Valley of the Moon”. Bennett Mountain lies west of the town, and Sugarloaf Ridge to the northeast. There are 3 state parks in the vicinity where mountain biking and hiking are to die for. There are 2 mountain bikes at the house for you to use. As you drive through Glen Ellen on your way here, you may want to stop and pick up wine, cheese, local produce, dairy, meats, and fish at The Glen Ellen Village Market (right side of Arnold), boasting an amazing deli with beautiful food to go. Across the street you will notice Les Pascals a newish Patisserie that is amazing !!! and you may experience local flavor at the Wolf House bar and grill, a former haunt of Jack London. Don’t leave there without trying the onion rings! Sit outside by the river. A heavenly spot. Once you have settled in, you may want to walk over to Muscardini's wine tasting room, just a couple of blocks up Cypress Ave on the corner of Hwy 12. It’s a local favorite. Sit out side and enjoy the view. Or, cool off in their wine tasting room. If your lucky James will be there, he plays super cool music and will give you a wine tasting you will totally enjoy. VJB is 2 blocks up 12 just before Cafe Citti. It has a gorgeous wine tasitng room and a fabulous deli dept. VJB is a family owned vineyard, who are originally from Itlay. Visit their high quality deli and their own locally produced wines. Kunde and Kenwood wineries are up Cypress on an route 12, both have good wine and lovely tasting rooms with out door seating. Kenwood village is only 4 blocks away. Try Palooza, a fun casual beer and wine bar with great food and locally brewed beer and ales. Most nights they have Ping Pong tournaments ! Café Citti, just before Kenwood village on 12 has "light" Northern Italian cuisine with a casual atmosphere, home made pastas and sauces, just like Nonna would make. Salt and Stone is wonderful and has good bar area that serves food if you feel spontaneous and don't have reservations. Or just relax, have a glass of wine. Take a hot tub, and/or lay in the hammock to read or check your email. Activities close by: Sonoma Valley is full of fun things to do. Whether you're into bird watching or skydiving, hiking, picnicking, horseback riding, or biking, ballooning, golfing, or gliding, there's something fun for everyone in our area. If you’d like to see the Pacific ocean, it’s about an hour drive out to the coast. Good oyster tasting, kayaking, and walks on the beach. To get even more relaxed we can arrange for a private chef and/or massage therapists on site. And there is one of the World's top spas rated by Conde Nast magazine just a couple of minutes up on 12, with a lovely pool. Sonoma Valley has been rated as one of the top destinations in the world for food and wine. Come on up... Sonoma Square: Is a 15-minute drive from Kenwood. There are unique shops, a multitude of restaurants, and a wonderful cheese store right there on the square. A farmers market is held on weekends. My favorite restaurant on the square is “The Girl and the Fig” It is wonderful! A must “go to” restaurant. I advise making reservations ahead of time. She also has a sister restaurant in the town of Glen Ellen only 7 minutes down Rt. 12 that is equally delicious. Suggestions of local wineries: Kunde, Chateau Sr jean, Matanzas, BR Cohn, Chalk Hill, Schug, Anaba, Sabastiani, Tin Barn, Gloria Ferrer, Armida. I love Kunde right across the street on 12. The wine is delicious and the outdoor tasting area is in a gorgeous setting. The people who work there are terrific, and I recommend taking the cave tour, it’s free and very informative. Things to do: Sonoma Valley is alive with activities and places to go. Morton’s Hot Springs on Warm Springs Road is traditional for families who grew up in the bay area. Take a swim, have a picnic by the creek. Relax no worries… Google Sonoma Regional parks for more detailed info. Dining: In Kenwood and Glen Ellen: Café Citti: Northern Italian cuisine; delicious and reasonably priced. Out door seating is available or get it to go and take it back to the house. Palooza” has local and a trendy atmosphere. Good food, wine and beer. The Fig: great food similar to its sister restaurant, The Girl and the Fig on Sonoma Square. The Glen Ellen Star: The chef from French Laundry is the chef and owner. It is casual yet elegant. The Glen Ellen Inn: is charming with good food and a sweet outdoor dining area. Wolf Bar and Grill: Very local, old style bar and grill. Property Type: House 1700. ft. Meals: Guests provide their own meals Catered meal available upon request. We were thrilled with this house and had a fantastic weekend.

The house was a nice refuge for four days in the Sonoma rain. It had plenty of room for a family of four adults. We enjoyed walks to the creek and around the area. Hot tub was nice, too. But for the most part, we jumped into the car and headed to the wineries we for which we reserved tastings. Jacqueline was kind, accommodating, and very helpful. We did not see her, but did not need to... Enjoyed our stay.

Great stay! Very clean and close to many vineyards and restaurants! The house was so clean and beautiful interior! Outdoor space was a little oasis! Would stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The location in Kenwood is perfect in my book, with multiple restaurants and tasting rooms in walking distance. The neighborhood is also quite lovely, and we saw interesting animals (fox, quail) on our walks.
The home itself is very nice, and the outdoor area/front yard is beautiful, in addition to being very attractive to humminbirds and other critters. The hot tub was always hot and ready whenever we wanted to get in, and our dog loved running around the fenced-in yard sniffing at the other animals and birds that she was sharing space with. She was in heaven on the entire trip!
We did feel like the shared indoor living spaces were a little small for four adults, and the kitchen left a little to be desired for us in that two of the burners on the stove weren't working and we struggled a couple of times to find the right cooking utensils and bakeware for the two nights that we had planned on cooking dinner.
Overall it was a great trip and we really enjoyed our stay. The beds were also REALLY comfortable, and were especially welcome after a day of wine tasting! We would certainly return.

Jackie's house is centrally located and fit our needs very well. We enjoyed sitting on the outside deck.

This place is great!
Comfortable beds, beautiful yard, responsive hosts, and a good location only twenty minutes from Sonoma square.
The dog also has plenty of space to run around the front yard!

We were in the area for a family wedding. The house was as advertised and we loved the outdoor space. Close to everything we needed/wanted. Great place!

Perfect little house for my friends and I to stay. Loved the yard.

We liked walking to nearby restaurants and found Palooza to be very dog friendly and only a couple blocks away. Palooza brought out dog water dishes right away. The make wood fired pizzas and have micro brewed beer.
Another venue we visited was Lou's which was a nice 50s style dinner. Once again, another dog friendly venue.
The property was very clean. One of the places that is a litmus test for a clean property is the spa, which was very clean. Keeping a spa clean with visitors using it is difficult.

The minute we walked in to Maison Jacqueline it felt like we could just move right in. Very clean and neat. Eclectic furnishings full of charm and character made it feel like a real home.
Plenty of sitting areas, both indoors and out, so everyone had their own space.
We only used 3 of the 4 beds, but all were incredibly comfortable with high quality bedding and pillows.
Kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance and kitchen tool you could want.
Walking distance to a few restaurants and several tasting rooms (Muscardini was the winner for us!) and a short drive to Glen Ellen and Sonoma for plenty of choice restaurants.
Jackie provided a great list of places to try, we did our best to hit them all, but sadly ran out of time.
If you’re looking for cleanliness, comfort, charm and a great location, Maison Jacqueline has it all!

Kenwood is a delightful neighborhood for a leisurely stroll. This home is very well-equipped and comfortable. Enjoy the blackberries behind the house, the plums off the front porch, and the sounds of chickens clucking next door. I only wish we had more time to enjoy it all.

Jackie’s home was just perfect for our 4 night stay. It was so warm and welcoming, with touches that made it feel like our own home. All of the beds were comfortable with lots of space to unpack. And even though it rained some of the time, we spent every moment we could admiring and enjoying the beautiful yard. So peaceful!
Three of us went hiking ( so many choices nearby) and one stayed at the house doing work. After dinner and hot tub, we played games at the kitchen table. Who could ask for a more relaxing getaway?
Jackie was great to communicate with and we went to several restaurants she recommended. We all agreed we needed at least a few more days to explore more of the surrounding areas.
We hope to be back!!
Thank you Jackie!!

This stay turned out to be the perfect end for a two week driving trip up the California coast, providing very comfortable and appealing indoor and outdoor spaces. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, the house is exactly as pictured. The kitchen is well equipped, offering new appliances, an abundance of cookware/dinnerware, and an ample supply of cooking necessities (oils, seasonings, etc). We definitely will stay again when we return to Sonoma.

Our family of six adults had a perfect weekend stay at Jaqueline’s darling Kenwood cottage. The booking, access to house, parking, Wi-Fi instructions, etc, were all a breeze. By the time we arrived in the cute neighborhood, crossed over Jackie’s little bridge (where ducks were floating past), went through the gate, and entered Maison Jaqueline, we felt instantly at home. The house oozes charm and comfort, is immaculately clean, and the kitchen was great for cooking. I loved the art on all the walls and appreciated the comfy furniture (lots of pillows and throws). The big screen TV was perfect to watch a movie after playing games at the kitchen table. The hot tub, tucked in the corner with views of HUGE tulips and tons of other flowers in Jackie’s garden, was fantastic after our 32-mile bike ride. There are two tasting rooms within a 5-minute walk, and one of them has a fantastic deli. The house was very nicely provisioned - everything we’d need in the kitchen, plenty of towels for bathing and hot tubbing, and truly comfy beds. We didn’t need to use the washer/dryer or gas BBQ, but we could have. Our son brought his older dog, who was relaxed and happy in the fully-fenced-in yard. We especially loved that the house and garden felt completely private on all four sides. This is a special place, and I look forward to returning and staying MUCH longer than a weekend.

Just returned home Maison Jacqueline. What a perfect home to celebrate Christmas with our Bay Area family. This cozy little house had everything we needed for our family gathering. Furnishings were well thought out. Comfortable beds, a dining room table to fit 6 or even 8 if you squeeze, and all the dishes and utensils for cooking fabulous meals. There was wine tasting just a block or two away, a store for things we forgot, even a couple of nearby parks (which received a P for approval from our dog). We rode bikes on quiet country roads, visited Jack London Park for something completely different. This was a great place to gather fairly close to the City but in a quiet setting. The neighbors all waved and said hello when we walked the dog even! We didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor spaces this time, but look forward to visiting again in the future. Maybe not while there’s an “atmospheric river” passing by!

Maison Jacqueline is a cozy bungalow in the heart of Sonoma wine country. Accommodations are comfortable, with entertainment center in the living room/family room, a good-sized dining table, fully-equipped kitchen, and four bedrooms. I found the bed extremely comfortable, with excellent linens and bedding. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, suitable for the secluded rest and relaxation we were seeking. The weather was quite cold during our stay, so we weren't able to sample the outdoor seating areas, though they appeared to offer many options for outdoor living, including a grill, picnic table, couch seating area, and hot tub. Most notably, if you are looking for a wine-tasting holiday, there are a number of top-notch tasting rooms within walking distance. There are also many outstanding restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. We would love to return to Maison Jacqueline if we get the chance!
