Private fenced in area with gas grill. 13% state and city taxes. Cozy gas fireplace to take the chill off in the spring and fall. AC for summer comfort. Located 10 minutes walk from town. Just up from Ida Lewis yacht club and New York yacht club. 7 night minimum- 10% discount for weekly, 15% for monthly pets are welcome. $20/ night fee. Stayed 6 nights at The Barn. It was an enjoyable experience. The beds were comfy; the shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water; the provided thick robes were a nice touch; and the semi-secluded private patio was a great place to have a snack or a glass of wine. If you want to sleep in, make sure you have eye shades and ear plugs as the sun shines through the curtains and the many birds start chirping early. It's a mile (give or take) to walk to many of the restaurants. If you want to eat in, the kitchenette works well. We would stay here again.

My husband and I rented The Barn for two weeks following the birth of our granddaughter. It was just 1/2 mile from our daughter’s home in the Fifth Ward — what a charming neighborhood. I walked everywhere — just a few blocks from the water, restaurants, the Cliff Walk, and Newport mansions. Mostly it was convenient for us to go back-and-forth to help out with our daughter and son-in-law with their new baby. The cottage itself was just perfect. We didn’t do any cooking, but loved the Keurig coffee maker in the mornings. We also enjoyed the outside patio for wine time and the comfortable couch for evening tv watching. Kathy was a wonderful host (just next door) and whenever we had a question, she answered it immediately. The Barn was quiet, safe and cozy. Oh, and great wifi!

This is a best kept secret. Location was fantastic and accommodations spot on. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood. We were in town for a wedding and close enough to family to make daily trips. Loved the privacy of The Barn with the patio tucked away on the side. Beds were very comfortable and outdoor shower a big plus. We will definitely be returning for another visit.

Our host was delightful, the barn was a perfect retreat. Clean, much charm, very comfortable on all levels, lovely gardens. Location close to Ocean Drive, Fort Adams, King Park by the bay. We will look forward to staying again. Thank you for a perfectly delightful experience.

Staying at the "Barn" in Newport was a dream. It was fully equipped, even with coffee pods (a morning treat!). It was clean, lovely, had a wonderful patio and the nicest owners ever. It was in a neighborhood that let you pretend you were suddenly a "Rhodey".

The property is beautiful. You can't beat the location, near the shore and yet in a quiet spot. It's the best of Newport, near restaurants and night life, but without the congestion. Our dog loved the fenced in yard and garden, as well as the nearby walking opportunities. We'll be back.

Terrific location -- hard to find a rental like this close-in -- you can go to Fort Adams or downtown without any trouble -- and hosts who go the extra mile, and then some! The rental is set in a delightful garden, and has everything you ever wanted. We hope to return next year.

My wife and I were fortunate to find this cozy cottage especially since we only began looking for a July rental just after Memorial Day. It’s conveniently located to Newport’s beaches, harbor and the shops and restaurants on Thames street but in a very quiet neighborhood. The cottage is all that it looks to be - cozy and comfortable surrounded by lush gardens. Kathy and Turner are wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome to their home. We’d not hesitate to return.

It was simply perfect. Location was great. Barn was roomy yet cozy. The yard made for some great fun in the sun. Hosts were the kindest people and went above and beyond. If there was a sixth star option, I’d give that.

Although this cottage is small, it nevertheless met our needs in every way. The location is perfectly situated to explore Newport. The neighborhood is a mix of moderately sized homes and estates dating back to Newport's gilded age. We particularly appreciated the quiet and the safety of the area. Casey, our golden retriever also rated this location a 5+. Finally, Kathy the owner lives in a lovely home on the premises and was attentive to our needs. Highly recommend to others.

I hesitate to review The Barn, because I selfishly want it available when I go back to Newport (!) The property, accommodations, location and hosts EXCEED expectation. It was an absolutely perfect place to stay. If you are considering The Barn and reading this, look no further.

I enjoyed my 2 night stay in this cute converted polo pony barn. It was just as pictured and fit my needs for a nice place to stay near my daughter's wedding venue. The owners were friendly and accommodating and the neighborhood was lovely. The short walk to the King Park was a plus. Really enjoyed the outdoor terrace and pretty gardens too. Thanks Kathy!
