About this house rental
Situated in Opal Cliffs, this attractive house for $325 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. SC County VR Permit #CO00012. Custom built by and for the owners. This 1500 square foot, two bedroom, 1 bath house has much to offer the active beach lover in addition to the sun worshipping lounger. Ideally located one block up from 26th Ave beach and conveniently centered in Santa Cruz from Capitola to downtown Santa Cruz and the world famous Boardwalk. This sweet beach home beckons visitors to relax in a peaceful atmosphere. Fall asleep to the sounds of crashing waves and wake up to the scent of the ocean. Guests can walk or bike to many desired places around town and avoid the hassles of driving and parking. Guests love staying in our friendly neighborhood, walking, playing at the beach, watching surfers and abundant wildlife just off our shoreline. This house is a breath of fresh air with an open floor plan, hardwood floors, fireplace centerpiece, vaulted ceilings, skylights, spacious kitchen and living area. The gourmet kitchen is a food lovers delight, focused around a granite slab island for easy gathering and food prep. There is a double electric oven, 5 burner gas stove top, warming drawer, microwave oven, TVs throughout the house. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking essentials. There are fresh flowers and living plants throughout the house. *Provision services or catering can be provided by request. For example, local farmers market produce and fresh local fish. In addition to the comforts of this home, guests can enjoy the fireplace on cool Central Coast evenings as well as the deluxe Dimension One therapy hot tub and convenient outdoor shower after a surf session or beach run. The outdoor yards are wonderfully manicured and fully fenced. There is a Weber gas BBQ, patio furniture, umbrella, fire pit and hammock in the back yard. Washing machine and dryer in garage. Off street parking for several cars. For the working vacation, wireless high speed internet is available throughout the house. Active families will appreciate this house has available wetsuits, boogie boards, beach chairs, wagon, beach toys, Pack and Play, high chair lots of children's books and toys in garage as well as movies. The Live Oak library is a short walk away and is surrounded by Corcoran Lagoon which is home to Great White Herons and many other types of animals and birds.There is wood for beach bonfires and a small portable BB-Q. There are so many great things to do in our neighborhood that it is possible to spend a week or longer and never have to drive anywhere. During the Summer months and holiday breaks there is a five day minimum stay, unless there are small gaps between to be filled in for shorter visits. Keywords: house

Our son, his wife and baby daughter live in Capitola. Our younger son and his fiancée flew down from Oregon to join us (we flew in from Texas) The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas which delighted us and our granddaughter. We were able to prepare and serve family meals so the family members living in Capitola could join us as well.
The house worked perfectly for our needs - sleeps 4 people but accommodates 6 adults plus a baby for meals and family time. We were very pleasantly surprised that there was a highchair stored in the garage.
While it’s one bath, there’s a pocket door between the shower and toilet; this allows other family members t use the sink and mirror as needed
The owners were Very responsive and while there were a few requests concerning the use of the house, there weren’t as many as we’ve experienced elsewhere.

This property was a really great stay for our family. We were traveling with an 18 month old and it had everything and more to keep her safe and entertained with special toys.
The place was spotless- so clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is great if you are looking to do some cooking. It is fully stocked with every possible piece of kitchen equipment you can imagine.
Overall, the place was very cozy and comfortable. We were able to relax and the neighborhood was walkable and safe. Great coffee shops just up the street (cat and cloud).

I absolutely love this house. The beautiful grounds, the sweet bird feeders, the cute nautical decor, the relaxing hot tub, the short walk to the beach where I saw sea otters and dolphins! Cathy and Andre are the perfect hosts; very responsive and provide everything you need. I’m glad I live in the Bay Area because I will be back!

Our stay at Cathy’s property was perfect. Check in and check out was very easy and Cathy was very helpful. We were dropping our Freshman off at UC Santa Cruz and the house was a great base for both getting ready for drop off and exploring Santa Cruz. Beds were comfortable and the living room was great for relaxing. We loved walking down the street to watch the sunset over the beach. Will try to stay here again when we visit!

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay in Pleasure Point at Cathy's lovely home The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with kids (ages 10 and 5), particularly a well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill, with everything we needed to prepare meals. I appreciated the coffee grinder so I could fresh- grind some local beans from Cat and Cloud and Verve (both nearby!). Our kids enjoyed the grass area in the front and the hammock in the back, perfect areas for them to play while we prepared meals, as well as all the outside toys and beach toys.
Having garage access was a big plus, to keep our bikes and for easy access to the house. Thank you Cathy for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back soon.

The house is cozy and was perfect for our 7 night stay! The location was absolutely amazing- we walked with our 3 year old to the beach daily! Thanks for the beach toys and wagon! The house is fully stocked and we really appreciated it! There were books and games for our little one. We loved all the windows and natural light and the hot tub and hammock! Also Cathy was just delightful. We will be back!

Loved the gated front yard and the spacious back yard. Beds were comfortable and there was lots of natural light. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to my messages. I appreciated being in a quiet neighborhood and away from all the boardwalk madness.

We were going to use the house as a home base to do more walking and shopping but, the house was so nice to be in the outdoor spaces. We just lazed around in the garden. Quick walk to the beach was very convenient with littles. My three year old and one year old loved the toys. My ten year old loved the games.

This home was so clean and inviting. The first thing we noticed was the mesmorizing smell of jasmine surrounding the house and the beautiful flowers and yards. The home inside was very tidy and super well organized! I personally loved all the labels everywhere to help us know where to look in the kitchen. Our 3 year old daughter loved finding all the toys, crafts, and gamesin the garage and we also loved spending time in the yards running, exploring, finding "treasure" and playing soccer. My husband and I loved relaxing in the hammock. We used the hot tub once and it was magical, wish we had done it more but our days were pretty full! We loved how close the house was to the beach and it was only a short drive away from some other highlights of Santa Cruz. Cathy was so easy to get in touch with and was always available to help out if we needed adventure advice or help with anything in the house. All in all, this home was incredibly comfortable and relaxing and we would definitely recommend it and know it will be our first choice if we visit again in the future. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Wonderful neighborhood, 2 blocks from beach, beautifully appointed home and flower filled garden for heavenly week in Santa Cruz. I cannot say enough about our stay and this property…every last detail was thought of and present…we have two large trucks but they both fit in the driveway off the street…such a comfort knowing we would be tucked away for the night…the white picket fence that bordered the enclosed yard was a blessing…two little ones could play out front while i read on the front porch sitting in a Adirondack chair with comfy pillow, supporting my back, surrounded by wildflowers and hummingbirds… Or I could easily watch them from the kitchen sink out the beautiful windows… The house itself is airy and sunlit throughout with beautiful plants to make you feel at home… A fireplace that you will find stocked with firewood, inside a comfy family room with lush pillows and fluffy blankets… TVs that can easily stream any of your favorite programs… The little touches in the kitchen were amazing… To find hot chocolate supplies, waiting along with extra keys to the front door… everything from coffee to cooking supplies to a warming drawer in the kitchen made it easy to feel at home… Off the kitchen is the entrance to the garage, which was like walking into a candy store… Washer and dryer, laundry baskets, bicycles, ice chests, beach chairs, board games, books, toys, wetsuits, water, shoes, and the list goes on… I couldn’t believe how perfectly appointed every detail was… My kids love staying in the sunlit bedroom with two twin beds… The back deck along with the spa and hammock made for wonderful memories… There’s even a fire pit right off the outside dining table… I can’t wait to stay again… the neighborhood was amazing and could easily walk to multiple beaches… Pleasure point pizza, and the pleasure point market were wonderful and friendly… Don’t hesitate… Book your stay here immediately

Even with some crazy weather we had an amazing time with this home as our home base. We traveled both north and south exploring the coast. The home was well stocked and had games that my kids enjoyed. The hot tub was a great perk. Cathy was so accommodating and we appreciated the special touches throughout the home.

It was a rainy weekend, but we definitely enjoyed our time visiting with our son who is attending UC Santa Cruz and with friends in town. During the one day of sun we enjoyed the cute little backyard and spa, and when it was damp we enjoyed to comfort and coziness of the house. Cathy is a wonderful host and we will definitely be staying again.

Perfect location, walking distance to everything you need! Went tide pooling during a minus tide and enjoyed beautiful sunsets at 26th.
