About this condo rental
Nestled in Vancouver, this attractive condo for $179 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Nicely renovated suite with lots of charm including architectural details such as exposed wood beams. The suite feels very spacious with its open concept kitchen, living area and 8 ft high ceilings. It is bright and cheerful with lots of windows, white kitchen cabinets and tile work. Enjoy the heated concrete floors that run throughout the entire suite. You will find a comfortable sectional couch in the living room as well as a cozy corner gas fireplace. The fabulous kitchen has top of the line stainless steel appliances, plenty of cupboard space and a huge island with 3 stools to have breakfast at or just sit and visit with whoever is cooking a meal. The kitchen has lots of lighting including nice under cabinet lights. Adjacent to the island there is also a table with seating for 4-6. There are two bedrooms in the suite. The large size master bedroom has lots of natural light and a queen size bed. The pocket doors to the bedroom can be left open to make the suite feel larger or closed for privacy. The second bedroom has cute bunk beds with a single mattress on top and a double on bottom. The modern bathroom is nicely finished with two vessel sinks and lots of storage. There is a bathtub/shower combination. There is an outside seating area with table and chairs. This suite is located in the East Village area, a residential area with lots of grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops, craft breweries, italian delis. Just two blocks from an elementary school and close to the Pacific Coliseum, the race track, New Brighton Park beach and pool. Just a couple of blocks to public transportation with easy bus rides to Downtown Vancouver only 15-30 minutes away. By car or bicycle downtown is 10-20 minutes away. Also close to the highway creating easy access to the North Shore mountains as well as communities further east. Boutique, fully equipped Pilates and Yoga studio on premises. By appointment. A lovely almost ground level basement suite with some vintage and antique touches. Mixed with modern pieces this gave an eclectic feel to the space, which was warm and comfortable.
The kitchen was why we rented and it didn’t disappoint. We cooked up a storm with all gadgets needed. Underfloor heating prevented any damp feeling that basements can have, and the addition of the gas fire made it cosy in the evenings. The bathroom was great, with a window for ventilation and plenty of hot water and loads of towels.
The bedrooms are comfortable, but the beds, while comfortable, squeaked; so if you’re a light sleeper do bring earplugs. The smaller bedroom has the furnace room next to it, meaning no closet space, but there are plenty of drawers and enough closet space in the main bedroom to cater to 3 adults.
It was a tad noisy at times, but the host lives upstairs and evenings were quiet. We appreciated the on street parking. I was concerned that there would be road noise but it wasn’t the case.
Our hosts were lovely people and helpful when we needed it.
There are a few steps down to the apartment, with a flagstone path along the house. Don’t wear heels! It is a lovely place to stay though - and spotlessly clean.

Lovely, spacious well-equipped basement suite. Odette and Ron were very welcoming and responded readily to any questions we had. This accommodation was the perfect launching pad for all that we had planned with our granddaughter. Wonderful!

good location clean and spacious. friendly hosts. there is street parking but it’s sort of assigned right in front of the house so it is convenient. there is wifi but no tv. that did not bother me because we were here to explore vancouver not watch tv however if for some reason that is really important to you be aware which is why i bring it up.

This is a pleasant basement property - all very clean with a good shower. The beds are a bit squeaky but comfortable. Wi-Fi was good. You do hear the owners moving around upstairs but that is the downside of any basement property. Well equipped kitchen. Parking is just outside the house on the street (free). Very handy location to drive to downtown Vancouver.

Our stay at this very comfortable, spacious, fully equipped unit met our expectations and worked really well as home base for exploring Vancouver and area. Located in a quite neighborhood with restaurants and market close by.

This Vancouver property was not only convenient as a tourist home base but immensely livable. Clean beyond reproach, comfortable and lovely interior plus the added charm of an outside sitting area surrounded by the garden. The host went above and beyond for n”necessities” like tea and coffee! Highly recommend this property.

We spent the last 6 days of a 3-week trip in British Columbia in Vancouver and used the apartment as our base camp. The apartment is in the private house of the owners and everything was super easy. We were welcomed by the owners and felt at home immediately. Strongly recommendable!

It is apparent that Odette cares about comfort and ease of stay from motion detector lights guiding us to the door at night to plenty of pillows and towels. Beautifully remoddled, spacious, equiped and with cute outdoor space.

This was a gem. Tucked away, quiet and so accusable to public transit. The rooms are sizeable, as is the living room /kitchen. The apt has a small patio area for morning coffee or an afternoon book read. There's plenty of airflow through the apt. Really a super yummy place to feel homey. Many many thanks to the hosts.

We spent an incredible 4 days in Vancouver exploring the city and surrounding area. Our days were super busy and it was great to have a peaceful and relaxing home to come back to at the end of the day. Odette and Ron were great hosts and we loved everything about the suite, including the backyard patio garden.

What a great spot Odette & Ron have. It really is an oasis close to the heart of the city. The place was spotless, modern and extremely comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet and relaxed but yet close enough to everything we wanted. Our kids live downtown about a 15 drive away which was perfect for us. We'll definitely be looking to stay there again next time we're in Vancouver for a visit. Highly recommended!

Spent 4 nights with my mom and brother! They came to visit and watch me run the Vancouver Marathon! It was an awesome place to stay - to connect with family, to explore the city, to unwind and relax (and to recover)!
Super clean, all the amenities you need, very quiet! Usually I don’t sleep well in new locations - but I slept so great all four nights!
We managed to explore Vancouver quite a bit - we love to walk and managed to walk from here to Stanley park (avoiding the upper east side). Buses are super straight forward and get you right downtown (1 bus) and an UBER downtown is $14ish.
Overall great place to stay - would stay again and would absolutely recommend!

Although there were only three of us staying in the apartment there was plenty of space for us in the open plan area when our son and his partner came to visit. Cooking for 5 wasn’t a problem either as the kitchen was well stocked with everything including a selection of herbal trees to try – nettle being my favourite. The neighbourhood is quiet yet convenient for bus routes to Downtown and the North Shore a couple of blocks away whilst further routes are available on the Hastings Street corridor a bit further away. Although not close to any large supermarkets, the selection of shops on Hastings covers every need and there’s also a good number of cafes and restaurants. Being October we hadn’t planned on using the seating area just outside but we were so lucky with the weather that we were able to – a real bonus. Odette and Ron were great hosts and it was a particular pleasure to have a wee chat as we passed in the garden.

Excellent location
Short walk to lots of shopping and restaurants, and a fairly quick drive to downtown. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to do some simple cooking. We loved the large, open concept kitchen, dining, and living area.

Very nice open living/kitchen/dining space - great for gathering and hanging out. Kitchen was perfect for preparing our Thanksgiving meal. Easy access to downtown & north Vancouver - a bit longer to get to UBC.

Lovely apartment
Very much enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is very clean. We appreciated all the nice touches the owners have added to make this a comfortable stay. It's clear they have put a lot of thought into this. The apartment is located under the owner's home in a safe neighborhood. There is some noise from the house, but it is minimal. For being a lower level unit, it is very bright and airy. The only thing missing for us was a coffeemaker, although we made do with the french press provided. Also, there is no TV. This was not very important to us, but if it is to you, it's something to consider. Overall, a very pleasant experience and we would stay here again.

Wonderful, cozy stay
We had such a good stay. It was tidy, comfortable, and enjoyable. Able to relax after a day of visiting our daughter and sightseeing. We were able to park in the front and that made it just great!!

Stay in modern home in Hastings Sunrise hood
Ron and Odettes place was really beautiful and just as it looked online, I was very happy. The apartment was lovely; very well renovated with lots of open space, nice furnishings, and a great layout. We hosted several family dinners there and the double doors that opened to the outside with our own little private eating area was great for dinning with people during covid if you wanted to avoid indoors. Everything was well stocked, including the kitchen, which was very helpful.
The backyard and garden were beautiful and they were very nice about letting us use it, as well as the trampoline which we all enjoyed using. The neighbourhood was perfect for us, and felt quiet despite being on a busier street.

We knew nothing about the area and we discovered a nice place, with plenty of space and all the equipments needed for our family of 4. Great wifi so we could use all our iPad/phones/Switch at the same time.
It was easy to reach downtown by bus or the main highway from east village.

Vancouver East Side
We enjoyed our stay in Vancouver. The property was in a great location for us. My wife was able to walk to Knit City and my son and I were able to explore Vancouver, downtown was about 15 minutes away. Good restaurants were a 5 minute walk away on Hastings. Odette made us feel at home.

We had a great time!
This apartment is lovely, bright and cheerful. The kitchen is well appointed, we were invited to use whatever we found in the cupboards. The equipment is adequate for our simple needs. We were able to invite our family over to visit us and that was really fun.
