A quiet property within minutes of amenities. We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and well appointed. Many personal touches such as books to read or DVDs to watch.

Karen’s place was perfect for our family! It was well stocked and close to everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the back patio added extra space and privacy. Karen was a great host. Very communicative and accommodating . We brought our bikes and biked to the beach each morning with our dog. Overall, a great experience. Thank you

We were having a great stay at this lovely property until there was a disturbing incident. On Thursday evening a man drove up in a pick-up, parked across the front of the driveway blocking both cars in, and stormed over to the house where my son and I were chatting near the car. He was clearly angry and without any introduction shouted to my son "What's going on?" We were just chatting, so my son asked him what he meant and again this angry man shouted "What is going on here?" I stepped in and asked what the problem was and again he shouted "What is going on here, why don't you just answer?" Realizing he was looking at our electric vehicle which was plugged into the regular 110V outlet. I explained that we have our car charging. He then told us that he was the owner of the house and why didn't we answer when asked what we were doing. It became clear that he had never seen an electric vehicle charging, so I explained and offered to show him how it worked but he refused to see it. He said that he did not know about this that there would be an extra charge and that we should have asked permission. So I offered to remove it and charge it elsewhere, but this man recognizing that nothing 'bad' was happening reiterated that we should have asked before plugging in a car and then left. He did not introduce himself or apologize. My wife and daughter were very upset at this interaction.

Hummingbird Cottage is a lovely little space that has everything you may need during your stay. Pride of ownership and desire to offer a clean, family and pet friendly space is apparent. Communication with the owners was great and we would definitely recommend Hummingbird Cottage for your time in Parksville/Qualicum. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Perfect surroundings. Walking distance to mini golf, restaurants and beaches. Short drive to town and local attractions. The rental was well maintained, clean and a perfect place to spend the week with the family. We will be coming back..

Excellent cottage - close to amenities and centrally located allowing us to travel easily north and south on the island. Cottage owners had a very organized and handy binder that answers all your questions about your stay. Comfortable space - indoor and out and close to beautiful Rathtrevor beach (less than 5 min drive).

This cottage was exactly as described and was the perfect place to connect with the family. Very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the jetted soaker tub was heaven. The kitchen had all the appliances and dishes we needed. We enjoyed the resort pool and fitness equipment and there were many trails to walk the dog.

Hummingbird Cottage was a very comfortable home away from home for a month long stay on Vancouver Island. It is well furnished, decorated, and equipped. It was well situated to amenities, and a convenient base from which to explore regional attractions. Our host, Karen, was a pleasure to deal with!!

This home was a perfect place to stay while we explored Victoria Island. The beds are comfy, everything was spotless, and everything we needed was there! Communication with the host was super easy and convenient. Even when I managed to lock myself out immediately after checking in! Local beaches and activities are a short walk away. The area itself has everything you could possibly need. Thank you so much for providing such a lovely space and being wonderful hosts!
