We are family owned cabins nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. our cabins are less than one hour driving distance from attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Crabtree Falls, Montebello Fish Hatchery, Oak Ridge Estate (Infinity Downs/Lockn'), Wintergreen Ski Resort, Rockfish Valley Restaurants, Wineries and Breweries, Walton's Mountain Museum, and the Appalachian Trail. We are also within an hours time of Lexington, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Staunton, and Waynesboro, Virginia. All cabins are modernly equipped and ready for your stay. Come explore the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bedrooms: 1 Queen Bed in main bedroom, and 1 Full Futon in living room.1 full bed on lower level. There are spiral stairs to lower level also there is a outside entrance if one would prefer. Bathrooms: 1 Full Bath with tub/shower. Full Kitchen Washer and Dryer Central Heating and Air Wood burning Fireplace Fire wood is not furnished for outdoor campfires. We absolutely loved this property. It might look a little small on the outside but is very spacious. It is beautifully frnished and had everything we needed and more. The owners contacted me to make sure we were settled and were incredibly kind. We didn't want to leave and look forward to booking again in the summer!

The cabin was in excellent condition and very clean. The depiction on Vrbo is accurate and the cabin contains all the needed amenities. We had immediate contact with the host who offered information and assistance (though none was needed). The stream or brook is near enough to provide a backdrop of pleasant sound and the leaves were just beginning to fall - altogether a very relaxing environment. While the cabin is a little remote, there are interesting day trips available in the region to places like Crabtree Falls and several wineries and breweries. The cabin in the woods is a great place to escape and relax!

The cabin was great. The location was great. We started a fire in fireplace the first night. When we opened the damper for the fireplace, there must have been a bee's nest in the flue so we chased bees in the cabin both Wednesday night and Thursday night. We decided not to have a fire Friday night so we didn't have to chase bees. Also I don't think the broiler element works on the oven.

I was so pleased that the home was as cozy as the pictures. The nearby brook and swimming hole were steps away from the property. The listing was accurate as listed. The property owners were sweet and attentive to our needs.
Loved it and hope to go again when I am back in the area.

The house is located up a single lane road that turns to only gravel, which is fine but could be intimidating to some, so just be aware of that.

The property was presented as described on the website. Charming and comfortable interior, relaxing stream outside the property, fire pit and grill for outdoor cooking or roasting marshmallows. This was an excellent getaway rental for us and would recommend it.

I wanted to be away from the busy city life and have some peace and quiet for my 40th birthday. Deer Run definitely delivered. The cabin was perfect for my family of 3. There was no shortage of things to do either. From the small surrounding towns to Crabtree Falls, you will not be bored. Definitely will try and get back again.

The cabin was perfect for our family! Our kids loved playing in the river, which is a small walk from the cabin. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived and check in was a breeze.

We enjoyed our time spent "off the grid" at this cute, comfortable cabin. Although unfortunately we had car trouble and therefore could not explore the surrounding area as planned, we still had a good, restful time. We walked down to the gorgeous river, fished, and gathered around the fire pit in the evenings. We did have some trouble finding the cabin--use the actual cabin address with your GPS instead of the suggested GPS address mentioned in the vrbo keys to the property information. We would love to return to the Deer Run cabin with a functioning car to explore this beautiful part of Virginia.

The three cabins, including Bear Paw, are all wonderful. We rent one when we have family in the area. It is always clean, spacious, and welcoming. Deer Run, ( along with Hawks View and Bear Paw) is great with the side deck that overlooks the stream. My relatives said it is almost like camping, with a cool breeze and sounds of the river through the windows. There are lots of places to walk, right out the front door, and access to the Tye, right behind the house. Plenty of wineries, breweries etc within 30 minutes, as well as Crabtree Falls. Any season is nice here, enjoy!

This home in the mountains of Virginia had everything! It was isolated and quiet, but with all the amenities you’d expect. The property is perfect for a weekend hiking trip, with easy access to several well-known Virginia waterfalls, including Crabtree Falls in George Washington and Jefferson National Forests and White Rock falls. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Remote cabin that backs up on a creek, as advertised. Hosts were very accommodating with an early check-in and late check-out. My son and I had a great time. Margaret called to check on us and give us ideas of things to do in the area.

What a lovely property! Everything was clean and well organized. We slept so well in the quiet of the mountainside (and super comfy bed). This is exactly what I was looking for me to take my 80 year old mom. It was peaceful yet easy to get to. We LOVED the creek being around us. To walk right out on deck and see the creek, awesome. The downstairs bedroom had access right to the creek and you could lay down and just listen to the creek. Great quality time with us reading our Bible together and discussing everything. Happy Memories!!

Deer Run was amazing! Highly recommend this unique opportunity/ location. Cabin was exceptionally clean, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The drive to and from the cabin could not be beat…. We didn’t want to leave!

Great little cabin off the grid. Walk down to the river was awesome. 30 min drive to the breweries! Landlord called to make sure we had everything and she was super nice. Highly recommend.

Our family stayed for a long weekend at the cabin and had a wonderful time! Kids aged 3 and 5 had a blast with the spiral staircase, outside deck, marshmallows over the fire, and of course the beautiful creek behind the house. I will recommend to all my friends and family!

From the side porch you see and hear a rushing stream. Behind the house is a river with huge boulders and a place to lie down in the cold mountain water. I'm front of the house is a picnic table and a fire pit. Wonderful

It was better than I expected. Having coffee on the porch with the creek right beside you, listening to the water, watching the wildlife. It was the perfect weekend getaway. The place was very clean and well maintained, and a short walk took you to the river, shallow and rocky, it was great for just soaking and exploring. Crabtree falls are just a few miles down the road, a challenging hike, and worth every step. We will definitely be back!

Favorite place
This is our fourth time back to the 3 cabins owned by Kenneth and margaret. Out of the 3 this is our favorite one! This was our first time with our 3 month old daughter and we will make a tradition out of it as she grows up! The last time we went there wasn’t a bathroom downstairs but they did a great job installing one. They also got new sheets and a shower curtain- loved what they picked out! Love pulling up and seeing the river and hearing it in the morning. Will continue to return for years to come
