About this cabin rental
Situated in Munds Park, this charming cabin for $195 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Spacious Rustic country cabin nestled in the Ponderosa Pines, over 100 trees on this large double lot. Quiet dead end street, a half a block from the forest preserve walking trail, quad trails close by. Munds Park is 15 minutes south of Flagstaff. Comfortably and uniquely furnished, extra large sectional, 2 easy chairs, sleeps 8, indoor or outdoor dining. 1500sq ft. with large loft. 1 3/4 bath, Propane BBQ, washer & dryer, dishwasher, 3 fire places, three minisplit heaters /air conditioners, antique claw foot bathtub, board games, we provide high speed internet through Starlink, Netflix, no regular TV. This cabin is a work in progress, we are always upgrading & creating interesting cool spaces within the property. The floors currently have a small step down to the kitchen area and main bathroom. Lots of TENDER LOVING CARE HAS GONE INTO THIS CABIN. Non Smoking Cabin! Cute rustic cabin that makes you feel like you are in the middle of the woods, yet close by restuarants and the freeway to Flagstaff.
The loft area was perfect for our kids. The fenced yard was ideal for our dog.
And all the snow was an unexpected treat for everyone. The national forest was a few blocks away, a nice short walk to an easy trail that was perfect for some afternoon fun!
Odessa and Rose were helpful and responsive to all of our questions and needs.
I would highly recommend and would love to stay again!

Great getaway from the Valley with our kids and dog!

The only issue we found was that the only source of heating was through the fireplaces, space heaters, and wall heaters. We found that it was quite cold without a central heating system so we had to keep a fire going in the living room to try and keep warm. There is a heated blanket that we discovered on the second night that helped us stay warm at night. We slept in the loft as well because it was the warmest spot in the cabin. The stove worked well as well as the other amenities .

Positives- The property has a great location in Munds Park, the trees in the yard are nice and we loved the hammock. The kitchen was nice.
Negatives- The home was not clean. My daughter's feet were black after walking around in the house barefoot. We found feces and urine on the floor in a crawl space upstairs. I was pretty shocked they rent it out in the condition it is in. There are many areas where young children or elderly could get injured or hurt (stairs on patio for example). We could not get the tv's to work at all. The outdoor furniture is not comfortable to sit on. The master bathroom smelled horrible. And the overall feel (especially in the evening/nighttime) was just very creepy to be honest. We made the best of it and still stayed, but it is in very poor condition. I tried contacting the owner a few times during the stay. Heard back after we left, they were nice and said they had a new cleaning crew that must have done a poor job cleaning, and refunded our cleaning fee. But in reality it's more than just the cleanliness of the home that was disappointing, it was the overall condition that was horrible. Would not recommend renting this home.

Cozy cabin
This cozy cabin was just what we needed for a short get-a-way from the Phoenix heat. Great location, close to many outdoor activities and very quiet. It was lovely to hear the wind in the pines and birds.

Great weekender
The cabin is eclectic and quaint. My kids and mother-in-law all loved it too. Would definitely book again.
Only draw back was hot water in the master bedroom bath and cookware.
The hot water in the master, I think, comes from an inline heater. We tried once to figure it out but instead just opted for the main shower.
The dishware was great and plenty of it but the cookware wasn't the best. Made french toast with the griddle and 10" skillet, they could have been flatter. Challenging to get even cooking. A big plus though was the gas grill outside. According to my wife the best steaks I've ever made
All in all a great place to get away.
P.S. the only sounds I heard were the birds and wind, extra bonus ;)

Charming and Rustic
Charming and Rustic are the perfect words for this little cottage. My family of 7 plus a dog just came back from a stay where we enjoyed the coziness of the house and Mother Nature gave us a hefty dose of snow! The Rustic Rose provided my family the perfect, comfortable and cozy place to land after a long day of sledding and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thanks again to Rose Ann who checked in and made sure we had enough fire wood for the frigid nights we appreciated that :)

Wonderful mountain get-away
We loved our time at the Rustic Rose. Very relaxing and rustic cabin very close to hiking/biking trails and a short drive up to Flag or down to Sedona. We would definitely go back!
One complaint was that there was no hand soap or extra trash bags anywhere in the house... For the high rental cost it would have been nice to have these basic supplies instead of having to go buy some at the gas station.... Not something I usually think to pack from home. Other than that it was fantastic!

Review of Rose's Cabin
Health problems made it impossible for me to get to the cabin. My daughters took two long week-ends and my remarks are their comments.
The cabin is on a beautiful lot. The lot is very large and shady. The cabin is clean and well furnished. The temperature was cool but I could imagine a hot time when an air conditioner would be needed. In general, we enjoyed our week-ends.
A speedy return of the $250 cleaning deposit would be appreciated.

A few negatives, but a delightful stay nevertheless
My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Rose. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was nice, and the living room was spacious and cozy. The Rustic Rose is a quaint and cozy place set in the quiet area of Munds Park, about 20 minutes from downtown Flagstaff. The perfect getaway.
Although we enjoyed our time there, there were a few problems. First, the wifi does not work. We tried multiple times, and we could not get it to register or work for us. The water pressure in the showers is not great. Plus the temperature of the water changes from hot to cold ever minute or so. There were a few other minor problems, but overall we loved staying here. Cozy and interesting, there are a ton of little nooks and crannies to find, and the Rustic Rose is a wonderful location for a vacation getaway.

We loved our time up at your cabin. You can tell how much love has gone into making this cabin feel like home. The weather was perfect for enjoying lots of our time outside, too. I loved that the cabin had everything we needed, as well. Thank you!

Extremely DISAPPOINTED
We were already in Sedona, AZ when we rented this property not even 20 hours before checking in (my 1st time using VBRO). After multiple, unsuccessful attempts at the door code provided I attempted to email Rosanne (the owner), but the Wi-Fi provided also did not work. I did not get cell phone service on the property, so we had to drive back to main road to call. Rosanne was unapologetic , just said "Oh, the code was changed" and provided the new code. When we finally were able to enter the home, we were highly disappointed. The first shock was the smell from a wood stove, not properly vented/functioning. We have a wood stove in our home and it does not make the house smell. A well-functioning wood stove with proper exhaust does not allow wood smell to escape back into the house.The French door to porch was unlocked and OPEN. I did not feel safe staying here, not knowing if it was broken into or just left open and unsecured. When leaving the property we saw a note from prior renters stating issue with door code and no access to Wi-Fi. We stayed at the property a total of 10 minutes and I called Rosanne to inform her about the unlocked door, smell, and Wi-Fi, she did not care. I told her we would not be staying because we did not feel safe, the smell (my daughter has asthma) and the issue with Wi-Fi. I asked about a refund even though I knew there was a no refund policy if cancelling within 30 days. Rosanne said "they won't allow it". I understand policies are policies, but we rented not even 24 hours prior and I feel she could have been a little more customer service oriented. Rosanne did not seem to care about any of my concerns and was not friendly at all. She did not comment about the open door or smell. She said she could have the internet service company call me to figure out the Wi-Fi. She did not know about the previous renters note left on the kitchen counter nor seem to care they had some of the same concerns. She didn't even know what property I was renting because she has others listed on VBRO. I would not recommend this property or any others Rosanne has listed. Her lack of concern was the most disappointing. Not one single apology for the inaccurate information she provided or the inconvenience we went through to obtain the correct information to get into her inaccurately, described cabin. To submit this review I has to click on 1 out of 5 stars, I would given 0, but had to click on 1 to submit.
