Situated in Palm Harbor, this lovely house for $179 per night is a great option for your next break. Welcome mermaids and mermen to Ozona, a friendly waterfront community located in Palm Harbor on the gulf of Mexico with a laid back vibe and easy access to six marinas as well as 45 miles of the Pinellas trail. Founded as a fishing village and seaside sanctuary, the Ozona bluffs have maintained a true small village unspoiled ambiance. Walk or bike down streets lined with old oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. Live like a local. . . hopping from serene sunset spots overlooking the sound, or hit one of the half dozen unique local restaurants or pubs accessible by golf cart. Located 3 miles from Dunedin, 2 miles from Honeymoon Island and 1 mile from downtown Palm Harbor this area offers an eclectic ensemble of dining options and not-to-be-missed coastal shopping. Trolley service is available just blocks away to chauffer you from Tarpon Springs to Clearwater Beach. Bring your boat (22' or less) and keep it on the lift in your backyard (fee applies), or rent one and get out fishing, dolphin or manatee watching. Make a run out to one of the 9 islands in the inter-coastal waterway and have an entire beach with fabulous shelling all to yourself! House has just undergone renovations and is located on a quiet cul-de-sac on the water, with boat lift, dock, and canoe available. Driveway easily acommodates 2 vehicles. House if fully stocked and pleasantly decorated in an inviting coastal motif. Choose from the Tommy Bahama room with queen bed or the Surf Suite with dual twin beds and make space for additional guests on the pull-out couch. What an adorable, comfortable place, and a wonderful neighborhood. The hosts added several 'extras' that really made us feel at home. We greatly enjoyed our holiday stay here (they even set out a countertop tree for the occasion!) and we are considering a return trip next year!

The property was spacious, clean & packed with all the amenities we needed for our 6 night stay. The neighbors are all so friendly & helpful. Quiet neighborhood. Great place for walking to other streets to view sunset. Walking distance to little downtown area. Loved Molly Goodheads. So close to the Pinellas Recreational Trail. We biked from The Mermaid House to Dunedin, had a great lunch at Carvor's Fish House, walked around checking out the shops & then rode bikes over the Dunedin Causeway to Honeymoon Island State Park. This home is very centrally located to all that we wished to see & do. Simply ran out of time. Amber & Greg very responsive & were great hosts.

The Mermaid House in Ozona has everything you need: peace, location, amenities... You're close to great places to eat and hang out; my wife and I really enjoyed our time here. I would recommend to anyone wanting to unwind and enjoy the old Florida charm of Ozona.

My husband caught a tarpon, snook and some catfish off the backyard dock. We were delighted when two manatee come up the canal while we were sitting to enjoy our morning coffee.

Very laid-back neighborhood with enough things to do taking the car as well as nearby.
The small center with bars and restaurants is within walking distance, just 0.5 mile. The house is comfortable and cozy.
The bed in the main bedroom could use a new mattress.
Check in and check out procedure is very easy. We met the owner, nice guy.

We stayed for 8 days and it literally felt like home away from home! This property and experience exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend! Location is perfect! We will definitely stay here again!

The mermaid house was perfect. It was very clean and exactly how the listing describes. The backyard is great to spend time in. You have the dock you can sit on over the water to enjoy the sunset. There is plenty of space for you and the family. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Florida. Thank you Amber for the great experience.

Stayed 9 nights along with our dogs. House is very quiet and in a quaint laid back neighborhood. Easy access to Honeymoon Island State Park with excellent beach and easy parking and beach access. Enclosed lanai with AC really nice to hang out in and enjoy the view of the backyard area. Would stay here again should we return to the area. Hosts are very responsive to any needs. 4 star vs. 5 star because I reserve 5 star for more luxury type accomodations, but doesn't mean this isn't a very good choice for the price.

Wonderful Vacation Home!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Mermaid House! The only problem was that our stay was way to short! Loved the cute decor and quiet neighborhood. Neighbors were really nice and chatted with us! Everything was completely furnished with all your needs! Will definately stay again and try to get a longer reservation next time! I can see why this place is always booked! Greg and Amber were very quick to respond to us! Thank you Amber and Greg!

Loved hearing the birds. Loved how close it was to Bike trail. Loved the quaintness of Ozona and restaurant suggestion Loved the proximity to Steve’s Produce. Loved that we brought our life vest for kayak adventure. One of best rentals ever!

Communications were all clear, concise, and courteous. Amber was quick to respond and the arrangements went smoothly. Arrival details were clear. House rules were clearly spelled out and very reasonable.
First Impressions
Area is attractive, both the general surroundings and the immediate neighborhood. Plenty of convenient shopping, and lots of great restaurants, particularly if you’re a fan of seafood or microbreweries. .
As can be seen in the description, the house isn’t all that large (at least compared to our own home – 2600 ft2). But the layout is open and well organized, so it seems spacious. Furnishings, appliances, and kitchenware are all first rate and 100% working.
All the equipment and supplies were as described.
As noted in the description, this is styled as “The Mermaid House”. If you’re a mermaid fan you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven! From the full size mermaid trunk and tail in the garden, to the mermaid drawer pulls, Amber has gone overboard. The theme is supplemented with general coastal decorations. We actually have one bathroom in our home with similar decorations but we’re nowhere near Amber’s league!
If you’re a boater, be prepared to be jealous of the neighbors’ boats! Though if you bring your own there is a full dock, including a hoist to get the craft out of the water.
Wife and son were also delighted.
Things to be aware of:
We had one puzzle upon arrival. My wife and son arrived ahead of me due to complicated travel arrangements and complained that there was just one bathroom.. Later we discovered that the second bathroom was there… but accessed from the garage. Facilities were clean and fresh, just oddly located.
Summing it up: We were disappointed about only one thing… we learned that the unit had been rented for the full 2023 season already and we couldn’t come back right away! Thanks to Amber for a great experience.

Magic at the Mermaid House
We enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid House. Easy walk to downtown Ozona, and not far from the Pinellas Trail (I brought my own folding bike). Large enough house that my wife's parents could visit a couple of days; while her parents used the main bedroom and bath, we switched to the nicely updated shower and facilities accessible through the garage. Also notable: I had a zoom business meeting where one colleague gasped "is that a dock in your background?!?". Why, yes; yes it is.
Entering and exiting Ozona is most convenient using the traffic light on Tampa Road. We like the Cool Gelato shop in nearby downtown Palm Harbor. A short drive to US19 put us at Olive Garden, a favorite of her parents. Tampa Road has a small Winn-Dixie for groceries. We rarely missed a sunset on the Dunedin Causeway, because I like sunsets and the Causeway view is fabulous and convenient. We all enjoyed watching the manatees at Craig Park in Tarpon Springs one fine afternoon.
There's a lot of magic at and nearby the Mermaid House. 🧜♀️

Our family had a great stay at the Mermaid house in Ozona. The house is in a very nice communiuty, quiet, safe and friendly. Everything was just as stated, clean, in good shape and well furnished. Our host's the Smith's were very nice, and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend the Mermaid house for your next get away! We are looking forward to coming back next year.
