OPEN south seas ON beach 2\/2 renovated 2023 pool amazing sunsets from unit
About this condo rental
Nestled in Captiva Island, this lovely condo for $339 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Elevator is under maintenance so should be back up by January 2024 but please ask PRIOR to booking if necessary 2 bedroom 2 bath totally renovated. Custom granite in both the kitchen and the bathrooms not your typical home depot 'stuff' custom wood cabinets in kitchens and baths. Brand new decor 2023 Brand new mattresses, duvets, some new furniture, Internet smart TV's and more. All brand new kitchen supplies new AC and new paint Glass doors on the showers. I hate shower curtains I find them to be unsanitary. you have access to beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler and beach toys. I do not guarantee the umbrellas any longer due to breakage and mishandling of them by the guests. Pool chairs are provided at the heated pool and also the grill has the gas hooked up and provided. There is access to 3 pools since I own in each one of the associations at South Seas beach villas. Tennis will not be open until February 2024 screened balcony facing the pool and the ocean. You have access three pools. 4 tenis courts (ask the resort for pricing it changes seasonally and ask to see if availabledue to renovations), and a BBQ grill area. There is a nice walkway to the beach that has a foot cleaning station. Pay washer and Dryers on the first floor. This building has an elevator unlike some of the units that are rented that are on the beach. Keywords: beach front water view high floor totally renovated professionally decorated unit granite kitchen, screened balcony I do require a rental agreement be signed Golf Carts can be rented with a local provider I no longer guarantee the use of umbrellas in my units due to the damage by guests I do have beach chairs and umbrellas but DO NOT guarantee the umbrellas YOU CAN USE THE FOLLOWING:ONLY 1. 3 condo pools 2. 3 BBQ areas 3. All pool chairs, loungers and tables at the 3 condo pools since I own in all 3 associations 4. Tennis pay for play just as you would at the resort as of this moment it is $25 per person per day. Rates subject to change by the resort 5. All my beach items to include chairs, beach towels, cooler and sand toys 6. 7. You can rent bikes, golf carts and other items of interest with local providers that are less expensive than you would pay with the resort Laundry on first floor use your smart phone to operate

I input on line was for a different unit owned by the same person. She told me that unit was booked. Then she switched me to another unit she owned without my agreement. I was charged by vrbo and had no choice.
The unit I wanted was larger and had two bedrooms with king size beds. The unit I was placed in had one bedroom with king size bed, one with twins..not what I wanted for my friends, but I had no choice. I did not pick the unit was charged and could not get a refund.
The elevators do not work so you have two carry everything up and down two flights of stairs. At 8 am drilling and sawing in unit upstairs.
Not relaxing. The unit is lovely. However there are some flaws. Be prepared. Eventually South Seas with be repaired from Ian.....but it is not yet.

Great location. Short walk to beach. Captiva beach the best. Forget Sanibel. Great shelling and clear water. 3 minute walk from condo.
Condo was clean with everything needed. Comfortable king bed.
The AC new and quiet! Several great pools to use.
There was construction going on at South Sea re hurricane fixes. WE where at beach all day so not bothered.

We booked this trip in January and received the information at that time. We had 3 trips between the the time we booked this trip and the time we actually went on this trip. We received the check-in information with all of the other information in January. By the time July came, we forgot. At the airport in Florida, I sent a message asking about the process and received, "as per the documents sent to you. . . I will resend the documents you misplaced." Not the warm fuzzy vibe we have come to expect from Vrbo, but a very quick response.
The property appears clean; however, sticky dishes were put away and we had to wash everything prior to use. The dishwasher is not effective. Netflix, Disney, and other apps are not included. Both bedrooms have DVD players that do not work. The outside of the refrigerator is rusty, wallpaper is peeling off the walls, paint is peeling off the ceiling, and some of the furniture has been well used.
All of these shortcomings can be overlooked, but we gave this property 3 stars because of the mattress in the primary bedroom. It is the worst bed. We had difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, and both developed back pain that continued following our trip.

A big draw to the place was the sleeping arrangements. The lounge chair in the living room was where one of us was going to sleep for health reasons. The chair was broken, and seemed like it was broken for awhile. The handle of the lanai door was broken off, again off for some time. The picture from the lanai was a similar view but I think was taken from another condo just to the right of the one we rented. Enough information was not given concerning SSP before you paid the fees. Would we go back to this location? No {also refrigerator was extremely rusty and there were no dishtowels, wa;ll paper in bathroom was coming off, the lounge chair on the lani was also broken.)

Nice place for a short beach getaway!
Proximity to the beach and the pool made this a great stay! The owner provides many items to use on the beach. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed to cook some meals. There wasn’t much cabinet space for pantry items but we made it work!

The property was a great location, close to the beach and the main area of Captiva (Mucky Duck). Only thing I would change is the master bedroom's mattress was well worn not comfortable to sleep on.

Great resort, clean room with nice views. check in process needs work
The unit was as advertised and the resort is a great place to vacation. Two draw backs, WiFi signal was very weak and the check in process was a little clunky. The unit owner was very responsive to mitigate check in issues.

We thoroughly enjoyed this vacation spot--beautiful beach (or pool, if you prefer), dophins, pelicans, osprey, beautiful sunsets and all the charm of the Sanibel-Captiva community. The owner offered great recommendations for places to eat and activities to enjoy.

Was a little disappointed with our room. Refrigerator had a leak and had some rust. Coffee table leg was broken. The owner said the place was top notch but not true. Was very expensive.

Very nice property. Great getaway for the family.
Beautiful outdoor views. Just a short walk through the property to the beach. The swimming pool was just a few steps away. The condo itself was fully equipped for our needs.

This is a great place to stay on this amazing island.
Brighter LED lights would be welcome in several locations to ease reading at night. Two of the chairs and the coffee table need to be fixed or updated as they had previously been damaged.

Captiva Get-Away
We enjoyed our stay at this unit. It was clean and comfortable and well supplied. It was close to the beach and other amenities. We enjoyed going to the Bubble Room for lunch and the Captiva Wildlife cruise where we saw a lot of dolphins and watched them ride in the wake of the boot. Otherwise it was rest and relaxation. The only regret was that we had to leave.

The owners and managers HAD to be aware of this activity when we rented the condo on September 15, 2021 and rented the condo to us anyway. The bedding was filthy, the furniture broken down and dirty and the photos of the exterior were extremely outdated (2012) giving a false impression of the beach view. When I contacted the Vrbo number I was told "unfortunately they only managed the property for the owners." All beach accesses were closed with DANGER signs. The heavy equipment, diesel fumes and beeping noises continued day and night and we were unable to sit on our balcony with the misleading view to watch the sunsets. We arrived Sunday at 4:00 pm and abandoned onTuesday at 12:45 pm. I lay blame on the owners and Vrbo for this unacceptable rental experience. Vrbo had an opportunity to set things right when I contacted them on October 5, 2021 but the answering agent took no action other than to pass the buck to the owners rather than contacting the owners about such a serious issue. We will take issue with the owners separately for all the misleading information they provided. It is my understanding Vrbo manages several condos on the South Seas Plantation property, so renters beware of misleading information and no service by Vrbo if you get scammed. we would be happy to provide photos, but this email response does not allow attachments for photos.

Great place to stay
We enjoyed this condo and it was just what we needed for our stay. Directions on how to find the place and the address were unclear if you have never been to captiva, but it was an easy place to get to the beach and enjoy the island

Great Location!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much! It's our 3rd trip to Captiva and we love the area. The property was very clean and the location was perfect, as it's just a short walk to the beach. The condo itself could use some updates. The coffee table in the living room was broken, and the couch had a noticeable stain. We were told there were beach things we could use such as a cooler and beach chairs. We did not use the cooler because it had mold inside. We did use the 2 beach chairs, but one was almost broken. The threads at the seam were pulling apart and anyone heavier than me (130 pounds) would likely have gone right through the chair. It was also confusing that we were not able to rent the chairs on the beach from the resort. This was not communicated clearly. The check-in and check-out was the easiest and best I have ever experienced! We will be back and will consider staying at this property in the future.

Captivating time at Captiva!
Very smooth process overall! Check in was a breeze, very clean apartment, spacious and my family was very comfortable. Great location and views. The only things to mention that the appliances and utensils showed some wear and tear, and the wifi on the unit is iffy but that was expected we came to disconnect. I would definitely go back!

Wonderful Celebration
We celebrated our 40th anniversary at the same property we honeymooned. Still a very special place. This condo was wonderful. Had everything that was needed. And we could watch the sunset from the living room or the lanai. The text that we received before we arrived told us everything we needed to know. The restaurant suggestions were very helpful. We would definitely come again.
