The property is on the main road down to Charlestown Beach but there is SO much property, there is no issue! There is a ton of room in the house as there what’s considered the main area and there’s almost an in law type space so you get a second dining and living room. We really only used the living room space when 6 of us wanted to watch two different things at night. You can tell that they are working through updating the property as there were pending completion on a few projects (new master bathroom was waiting on glass for the shower, wainscoting type wall in the second bathroom that appeared new but unpainted, etc.). Overall, the house gave us everything we needed, the location was great and in biking distance to the beach, etc. The hosts (or hosts family) are in a second home on the large property and they were so friendly, gave us some of their beautiful vegetables and let the kids say hi to their sweet dogs! Completely satisfied with our stay.

The location of the house is great and convenient to the beach. I also found the owner very easy to communicate with and she promptly answered all my questions in advance of the rental. Overall the house itself is only okay. It was sufficient for our stay but we wouldn’t rent this one again. Everything is a little dingy and beat up and the house doesn’t seem like it’s had a lot of upkeep. It’s unfortunate because it’s spacious and has potential. The layout is a little strange in that it’s set up to be split into two separate properties if desired. One of the bedrooms listed is the only pass through to the third bedroom and second living space without walking outside. It’s not a convenient place to have a bedroom - especially with putting kids to bed early but we made it work. We’ve rented at Charlestown for years and have had much nicer houses for the same price point so we would look elsewhere in future years.
