Beautiful property, staff went above and beyond for us. Homemade breakfast and dinner were outstanding. Rooms were clean and we were well looked after

I must preface all my reviews of Sri Lankan hotels with this: most smaller hotels are family businesses whose ambition is not to be a mogul, but to make enough to get by. Hence, all the owners and workers are extremely polite and helpful. Their attitude is universally friendly and accommodating.
The room with high ceilings was spacious which could have caused one of the issues, see below. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. Wifi is fine.
Price per room is good, but you will have to weigh that up against the negatives.
The problems: my room was freezing. There is no air conditioning. Perhaps I was there at a freakish time but the room was uncomfortably cold. They provided a small fan heater which was useless. I ended up buying a small electric bar heater to help make the room warmer during my 3 night stay. I left this behind for the manager to use for future cold tourists.
The hotel, nestled amongst several others on a hillside, is located too far from the town of Nuwari Eliya to access easily. That's why the on-site restaurant is so important. As I stated above, the food is great. But the hotel is not walkable to anywhere.
Perched on a hill, the water pressure is horrid. Out of their control, but something to consider. You will be washing your hair one hair at a time.
