About this house rental
Located in Grand Lake, this lovely house for $561 per night is a great option for your next break. ** Please see NOTE at bottom about Off Season Rates ** Just minutes from the historic town of Grand Lake and the 415 square miles of Rocky Mtn National Park, this property offers the ultimate retreat for those seeking scenic beauty and activities suited to all ages and abilities. Nestled among the aspen and lodge pole pines, the Lakehouse in the Woods sits on a rise overlooking Shadow Mtn Lake, Grand Lake and Mt Baldy. This beautiful cabin with its spacious wrap-around deck, was built in 2007, and offers an exceptional open design and upscale craftsmanship throughout. Inside you'll have plenty of room to relax and spread out. The great room offers comfortable leather furniture, a flat screen TV with satellite and streaming, and huge natural stone wood-burning fireplace. The open kitchen has a large quartz island that seats 7, with views of the surrounding lakes and woods. There are 4 bathrooms, plenty of soap and towels, and a laundry room to use if needed. The tiled front entry has a full bench and plenty of hooks to hang jackets and recreational gear. We have kayaks, and a stand up paddle board for rent during your stay. Please don't ask. - No events, parties or large gatherings - House is not child safe or child proof - no children under 13 - Exterior cameras are used to verify that the rules about pets, 8 person limit, and parties are followed. * Note - Off Season Rates (mid-October through May) reflect a 6 person occupancy and the 5 bed bunk room is locked and inaccessible, leaving three separate king bedrooms. This allows us to offer the house at a lower rate for smaller groups. Additional guests allowed (using the bunk room) for an additional fee. *Note - Road to house is short and steep. Incline to driveway is generally snow packed in the winter even though it's plowed. It is recommended to have 4-wheel drive during winter month stays. Without 4-wheel drive, you may not make it up the driveway in winter.

A beautiful spacious home with amazing views! The kitchen was well stocked, the furniture was comfortable and the beds were great! We had easy communication with the owner and she was very nice and helpful. The only issue that folks should be aware of, is that traffic noise could be very loud at times. Other than that, it was wonderful and we would stay there again.

The house was beautiful, well maintained and VERY clean! The views were spectacular, we enjoyed sitting out on the deck. The house was perfect for our family. It was fun to come home after a day of hiking in RMNP to cook dinner together, play games and relax. The town of Grand Lake, and it's activities, was close by and handy to get to. The hosts were amazing; organized, thorough and very responsive leading up to the trip as well as addressing any questions we had while we were there. We look forward to an opportunity to return again!

This is a really beautiful property ideally located to Grand Lake! The home was exceptionally well maintained and very well appointed with everything you would need for a great family vacation. This is one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed at. The view of the lakes is spectacular off the deck. The owners were really thorough regarding all communications. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation in the Grand Lake area. Excellent stay!

We have been coming to Grand Lake for many years and have never stayed in a more beautiful home. The owners attention to every imaginable detail was impressive. We felt like their home was truly ours for the week we stayed there. From the gourmet kitchen, to the lovely view and wrap around deck, it is a retreat like none other. Thank you!

This house was all it was pictured to be. An extremely well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and lots of room to visit, read and relax. This is the first Vrbo home that the garage was not made available for our use, and while we were in Grand Lake there were two very rough hail storms. We had a great time and wish Krystal and Matt all the best.

This property was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Krystal was very prompt with answering any of my questions and was clearly eager to ensure our stay was a pleasurable experience. We used one of the outdoor fire pits for roasting hot dogs and making s’mores. The view of the lake and mountains was incredible!

The owners clearly take a lot of pride in this property and it shows. Clean and well-maintained, comfortable for hanging out, with all the household items you'd expect. Our group (4 couples) cooked every night and had everything we needed for a variety of meals. Walkable distance into town, and easy access to RMNP.
Note that the owners require both a damage deposit AND insurance and that any damages come out of the deposit before insurance kicks in, which is unusual and a considerable up-front expense.

The property is everything it looks like and more. We visited at Christmas time and the house had an enormous tree, lovely falling snow and fireworks for New Years. You can see them right from the deck of house! Its cold (of course) but there is a great fireplace with a fan to blow the air of the fire into the house. The house is obviously owned by someone who loves it and it feels like visiting family. Lovely decorative details. Warm and inviting. Books to read , games to play and tv to watch! Its beautiful!

Grand lake Retreat, is quite simply the best house that we've rented. Whatever your mode: hiking, boating, snowmobiling, couch potato & sunning (our mode), you can accomplish it from Grand lake Retreat.
It's the perfect spot; there are neighbors close enough in case of an emergency but they're distant enough that you still have your own privacy.
The view from below, the deck, the living room, back door are all worthy of experiencing. The house offers plenty of space for everyone. Oh, oh, oh, the towels are fluffy and smelled of fabric softener, the sheets are not those hard 200 count sheets. Grand Lake Retreat, lives up to its name and owes us nothing.
We're already planning our return.

This property was absolutely beautiful from the cleanliness, decor, to the location of overlooking the lakes. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay. Beds are very comfortable. The location is right in Grand Lakes and only a few miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. During our stay we did get to experience the park where we got to see an abundance of beauty and wildlife. Then in the afternoons and evening spent time just relaxing in the cabin that was perfect and visited the family oriented town. The owners were very attentive and was always in touch to ensure everything was as expected. I highly recommend and hope to return soon.

Our family had a wonderful time spending 7 days at Matt and Krystal’s lovely home. It was extremely clean, decorated beautifully and had a fantastic view! Kitchen was perfect, well supplied and great for cooking and sharing meals together. Matt snd Krystal were so nice and responded immediately to any questions. Location is great for RMNP and close to Grand Lake! We would definitely book again if visiting in the area. Thank You!

Lovely home with wonderful views of Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake. The kitchen has everything thing you need. We rented the kayaks which was so convenient with the home close to launching areas. Krystal and Matt were terrific hosts. They made my 65th birthday special!

It’s easy to get to and just a short 5 min drive from the Grand Lake shops and marina.

Family fun vacation
We had a wonderful week in Grand Lake the home is beautiful and the view was spectacular! Krystal and Matt were wonderful to work with.
We had 6 family members staying at the property and 5 more family members who have a home up in Grand Lake that would join us for family dinners and games, the deck is huge and the outside table was perfect for our gatherings.
We would highly recommend it.

Beautiful Cabin in an Excellent Location
The cabin is located just outside of Grand Lake, close enough to walk (20-25 minutes) into town or a very convenient 2-3 minute drive. It’s well equipped for almost any cooking, and there is a grocery store just down the road.
The best part is the deck - a beautiful wrapped around deck with a view of the lake and the mountains, perfect for sitting out and enjoying the scenery. We saw marmots and deer in the garden.
House is otherwise very comfortable and spacious.

A cool summer week!
We had the best time staying at this house. The views were absolutely spectacular and we had a doe with her two newborn fawns that would graze some mornings and a beautiful buck on others.
The furniture was comfortable, the kitchen incredibly well stocked with dishes, cookware & spices. There’s a little grocery store in town and a City Market in Granby. Several decent restaurants in town.
The owners were available if needed and so nice to work with. They had the entire house labeled which was super helpful.
RMNP is so incredibly close and Grand Lake is a much faster entry point than Estes. The temps are also a solid 10 degrees cooler, which we loved.
Thank you to the Flynn’s for a great week escaping the heat of our home state.

There is a market within minutes, which has everything we needed despite its small size. The entire process from booking to checking out is painless and efficient. Our family of 8 had a wonderful stay here. The home is lovely and was the perfect amount of space for 6 adults and 2 kids. Close to town and the view was spectacular. Only, issue were a couple of beds were very uncomfortable and the pots available need some replacing, everything else was fabulous. Would definitely stay here again. Even got to see a young moose in the yard 3 times.
