Romantic Mendocino Coast Getaway in the Redwoods with Ocean View
About this house rental
Situated in Gualala, this charming house for $200 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Sleeps 2-6 Our house in Enchanted Meadows (that is the actual name of the area, you couldn’t make it up!) in Anchor Bay, California is the perfect place for a couple or a small group of family or friends to get away for a few days. It sits on top a hill along famous Highway 1 on the coast. Because Enchanted Meadows is located in the so called banana belt, the weather is warm and sunny even if much of the coast is covered in fog. The main house has a living room and dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, one bedroom, a large bathroom with floor heating and a huge deck around the house. Two additional cabins serve as two more bedrooms, one with a bathroom. Rent for the cabins is NOT included in the base rent which covers the main house only. If you only rent the main house, you will still have the property to yourself. The house sits in a Redwood forest with a partial blue water ocean view. You can hear the waves and sea lions from the house. The setting is very private, calm and romantic. The deck and garden are perfect for hottubbing, relaxing, sunbathing, enjoying meals or watching the local wildlife. You will most likely meet the local bevy of quail, watch the hummingbirds dart around the garden, hear the ravens in the trees, see the chipmunks and squirrels and maybe get a glimpse of a deer. One of the most wonderful features of the house is the light. In the morning, the whole house is flooded with warm morning light. Watching the full moon from the hot tub on the deck or through the windows inside the house travel across the night sky is spectacular. And without the moon, the sky is exploding with stars and planets, an amazing experience from the comfort of the hot tub. For city dwellers the lack of light pollution is awe-inspiring. In the winter, the wood burning stove in the living room will keep you warm and cozy. Though you feel like you are away from it all, you are very close to civilization. Anchor Bay is just 5 minutes down the hill and offers a supermarket and two restaurants. Gualala is about 10 minutes to the South and offers a variety of restaurants, two supermarkets, a post office, gas stations, gift shops and live music. Gualala is about 10 miles north of Sea Ranch in Sonoma County. The spectacular Mendocino coast and its beautiful beaches are a great place to explore, hike, fish, dive and surf. Our house is a short drive to the Point Arena Cove and the Point Arena Lighthouse which offers some of the best whale watching on the entire West coast. Keywords: House

Loved being in the trees and forest with this property, the out- bedrooms are good for privacy in a group setting. There are definitely critters and birds and more to this property be prepared for an active outdoor experience. Only thing to recommend is maybe bring a fan if it’s going to be warmer weather. And I would have loved more screens on the windows and doors. Loved the property though!

My 3 friends and I stayed here for my birthday weekend and it was perfect. It had everything we needed and we loved the tranquil surroundings in the forest. Communication with the host was a breeze. And we loved that we weren’t far from the main town and beach area. We’d definitely return!!! Oh one thing I’d suggest is to to bring an eye mask to sleep with if you’re sensitive to light. The two cabin rooms didn’t have curtains on the windows - which I understand why - they overlooked the beautiful trees. But it was helpful to throw my mask on in the morning so I could sleep longer.

We couldn’t wait to get back to this spectacular property! We again made full use of the hot tub, the deck, the grill and the calming and serene view. This time there were four of us, and the main house and other two buildings were perfect. Katrina was wonderful to work with. We shall return!

This property is up a steep hill, but driveable. It's odd with a main house, 1 bedroom and deck, with another separate sparse bedroom on the same deck and another bedroom and bathroom with deck located below the main cabin. The Internet was spotty, but otherwise comfortable. If you're driving from Crescent City to Visalia, like we were, it's right in the center of the drive for a quick overnight.

This cottage is such a gem! Very spacious for 2 people and you feel totally secluded in the redwoods. The hot tub was awesome after days of hiking too.

This place exceeded our expectations! Beautiful surroundings and a view to lose yourself in as you sit on the deck gazing out at the ocean, fantastic setting! Very well-stocked kitchen with an array of cooking supplies, super clean, and instructions were easy to follow during our stay. Excellent communication with our host, very reliable WiFi. You can tell she puts a lot of love and effort into this place, making it special for all who stay here. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay and it was a perfect location on our coastal route drive from Crescent City to Oakland. The home was very clean and there was no issues. What we enjoyed most was peacefulness of the surroundings!

Flawless check-in process, various quirks as far as cleanliness goes but nothing atrocious, & well-thought-out manuals. Very quiet and dark surrounding area. Morning breakfasts with the ocean view are supreme, and the stargazing (**when not foggy/overcast**) is better still. Be prepared for early rises as sunlight will come in quite early circa 6 am; the bedroom's curtains are more for aesthetics than functional purposes.
Overall wonderful stay for the price point, would rent again!

Loved our little retreat in the hills! The house had everything we needed for the few days we were there. I will agree with a previous review, if you sleep with more than one pillow bring your own! Other than that and the damp wood that was rather difficult to get lit, everything was wonderful. Hot tub was a wonderful addition to this hideaway.

We unfortunately only booked one night, but we had the most amazing time. The house has a wonderful location, nestled in the forest with stunning views. The setup was perfect for our family with the two cottages on that are separated from the house, to have some extra privacy. Check in was very easy and the house was very clean, well equipped and cozy. We had the best time enjoying the fireplace, the hot tub and the spacious living room and kitchen. We will certainly be back for a longer stay sometime soon!

The house had everything we needed to cook meals in, watch movies and TV on the couch, and relax at the end of the day in the hot tub. The property is secluded but you can also easily access gas stations and stores in case you forget anything. The view from the porch is absolutely stunning and if you feel like exploring, there are lots of short hikes and coastal access paths along Highway 1. Katrina was also super thorough in her directions and description about how to enter the property. We loved this spot and hope to return at some point in the future!

Cozy cabin with all the amenities needed for a casual get together. Older furnishings but very clean. The hot tub is a wonderful addition to the experience. If you want a gorgeous north coast get-away, this is it!

The pictures don't give this listing justice. It was so relaxing, and the hot tub was huge in the backyard. It was really nice to unwind after a day of hiking and view the ocean. The kitchen was fully stocked, and all the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean.

Katrina was so kind and made herself very available to us. She provided a lot of amazing recommendations and was able to accommodate our schedule for a short stay. The surrounding nature even in walking distance was beautiful. You could hear the sea lions. And the hot tub on the deck was fantastic. Really can't say enough good things about Katrina and her property.

Very relaxing house and neighborhood. No neighbors, no noise. The hot tub and view were amazing. You CAN hear the sea lions, as advertised. The road to get here is long and twisty but when you arrive, be prepared to enjoy yourself. Bring extra pillows though :)
