About this house rental
Located in Massanutten, this attractive house for $271 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Stylish and hip, The Nut House is located in the heart of Massanutten Resort, Virginia, yet surrounded by trees and mountains offering privacy and serenity. Offering a main level great room with floor to ceiling windows, gourmet kitchen, dining area, TV nook, and deck overlooking woods with babbling creek. The three bedrooms offer the following configuration: main-level, king-bedded master (1 K) and two upstairs bedrooms (1Q and 2T). Linens and towels included. The upper deck has views of the slopes and a babbling brook running under - it's a perfect way to end a day of skiing or hiking! Seating for 6 and a Weber grill (propane provided). The lower deck features an outdoor hot tub. Our home is very warm and inviting, with comfortable furnishings offering a classic retro mid-century modern decor. We have had a great time traveling to estate sales for authentic and whimsical pieces that continue to delight our guests. But we have not forgotten modern conveniences...free wifi, cable flat screen TV, dishwasher, washer/dryer, air conditioning, DVD player, iHome, etc. The kitchen boasts anything a chef could need - offering both Keurig and drip coffee makers, toaster oven, blender, crock pot, hand mixer, ice maker, microwave, and Henckel knives. And we make it easy: house includes all the “under the kitchen sink” necessities so you do not have to pack all the boring stuff. So we keep stocked for our guests: starter paper towels and toilet paper, dish soap, scrubbies/sponges, dishwasher detergent, dish towels, napkins, trash bags, disinfectant cleaner, coffee filters, tin foil, saran wrap, baggies, spices, cooking spray, salt/pepper, and laundry detergent. We provide linens/pillows for all beds. When you arrive you will find they are all made up for you, ready to go! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook and serve meals -- just bring your food. One final benefit of renting from us is our 10-page "House Info Sheet." It details everything about the house, resort, restaurants, shopping, wineries, hiking emergency information, and even where to buy the cheapest gas! Whether you have been to Massanutten or not, you will find all sorts of insider information on how to get the most out of your vacation! Ideally located in the resort, inside the guard gates less than 5 minutes from on-site resort amenities: skiing, year-round tubing hill, ice skating, zipline, indoor/outdoor waterpark (biggest on the East Coast!), terrific hiking, golf courses, driving range, horseback riding, mini golf, racecars, bumper cars, playgrounds, outdoor pool, summer concerts, skateboard park, and more! Some amenities are weather dependent. Please check the resort website for the up-to-date 2021 schedule. The community pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends. We have will purchased a 'renters pool pass' which allows guest access without the homeowner present. Bring pass and entry fee - $6 per person/day (5yo and under free) with in and out privileges. It is a lovely pool with diving board, lounging space and well-stocked snack bar. The Ice Cream stand is also there. Not all homes offer the pool access, so be sure to ask if this is an amenity you plan to use. We own our homes and choose to self manage as we are committed to providing a level of service and guest experience that is superior to any other. We have over 160 5 Star Reviews! We enjoyed our stay. The house is in a great location for hiking in the park. It was clean and comfortable. The info packet was great. Having not visited the area, before it was helpful to have the recommendations and info.
Also, cushions for outdoor chairs are in MB closet, as the info packet indicated.

Little things make a big difference. Provided items like TP, PT and cleaning supplies plus a book of local info were very much appreciated. Small things like much needed fresh paint, thorough cleaning, cushions for outdoor chairs and clean windows would also make a big difference. My biggest disappointment - two of the four large picture windows are in need of replacement - you can barely see out through them. Overall, would not recommend.

We were there for JMU family weekend . The house was perfect , loved how everything was labeled. House was very clean, cozy and loved the decor . Beds were comfy , hot tub was awesome on a chilly evening. Lots of deer , chipmunks and wildlife to watch. 10 out of 10!

We loved our stay! It is close to so many activities at the resort, was super clean, well laid out, and comfortable. The pool pass was perfect for our family of 4. The little extras like plastic baggies + trash bags were so nice to have. We felt like we were at HOME! We are excited to stay at the Nut House or one of their other properties the next time we visit!

The beds were comfy, the house was so cute with the decor and furniture. The hot tub was amazing and so clean. One of the best homes we have stayed in. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, apliances, pots and pans. Eveything was labeled and organized which made our stay that much easier. Thank you for a great trip from my son's 9th birthday!

Family spent Fall break in the area. We had a great time. The house is very clean and comfortable. Love this retro look and huge lava lamp. Location is perfect for shopping and multiple hikes. We would love to come back one day.

So glad we booked Jo's Nut House for a birthday weekend away with my friends! The house was spacious, clean and so well-appointed with the cutest furnishings and decor. The beds were comfortable with fluffy linens. The hot tub worked really well and made for a relaxing soak after the drive up and after hiking. We only had a couple of questions during our stay, but Jo was extremely quick in being responsive and helpful. We honestly loved it so much that we wished we didn't have to leave. The location was absolutely great. It is right on the Massanutten property, which allowed us to enjoy scenic hikes and explore nearby Harrisonburg and various places Jo recommended in the very helpful house information binder. Our favorites were Hank's, Clementine Cafe and Cross Keys Winery, but there are many other places we still want to experience in the area and will definitely be back! It would also be perfect for a family looking to enjoy the resort amenities and I can see coming back with my spouse and kids too. Thank you for hosting us for a wonderful weekend, Jo!

Our family stayed at Massanutten for our daughter’s birthday. We enjoyed our time at the nut house. One thing that was troubling was that upon arrival, the key lockbox was open. This left us uneasy when we first entered the house until we checked around. We all had a great time in the hot tub and had everything we needed in the kitchen.

Great getaway. Not the average (let's rent our cottage for extra income when we're not using it) rental. The owners used their talent and love of finding unique fixtures and furniture to give their rental a real theme. Art deco/50ish spacious comfort. We loved it.

We had a great time staying at this home. We arrived in the evening to find that it was clean and comfortable. This home is in a great location. Central to everything at Massanutten. We also enjoyed the amazing view from the living room windows. We also appreciated that this home had comfortable beds (which isn't alwasy the case at even high end rentals).

Fun and Relaxation at Massanutten Resort.
I highly recommend this home. I recently stayed at this home with my husband and two sons. The home is lovely and clean. The location is perfect. We enjoyed the hot tub, playing in the creek, and the relaxing and tastefully decorated vibe of the house. My favorite part was sitting by the windows, listening to the creek, and looking out at the trees. It was my first time in this region and we were able to explore and visit Massanutten Resort and Waterpark, Shenandoah National Park, and Luray Caverns. I hope to return soon!

Weekend getaway to the Nuthouse was perfect for our anniversary trip. The house is beautifully decorated with awesome views of the wooded outdoors. The kitchen is well stocked with pans and appliances for cooking. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub, hiking, and mini golf. We will definitely plan another trip!
