We loved staying at Rick’s casita. Very quiet neighborhood in historic clarkdale but very close to the more active Cottonwood and Sedona hiking. We loved the fire pit and hot tub every evening after hiking. The property was really nice and Rick was extremely responsive and communicative. A great stay!

This casita had all we could ask for. Cute, quiet and in a nice neighborhood for walking. Good parking spot in driveway (not on street).
The bed and sheets were very comfortable and the shower was nice. The kitchenette had all we needed for coffee and snacks and there is a hot plate and pots and pans available if someone wants to cook. We also used the washer dryer which was nice to have after dusty hiking.
Tip...there is a little pocket door between the living area and the bedroom if you want to close off the two.
We don't watch TV but it was there if needed.
We would go back to this location.

The casita is a cozy place in the heart of Clarkdale. Its clean, quiet, and a short walk to downtown. The surrounding area offers beautiful vistas of Mingus Mountain, the Verde Valley and Sedona off in the distance. The manager is attentive and quick to respond to requests.
While visiting Clarkdale be sure to soak up the best the area has to offer. Start your discovery at the surprisingly interesting Copper Art Museum, for the rich history of Clarkdale. Wonder through the many rooms of copper artifacts from the unique to everyday use over many generations. Drink with the locals at the 10-12 Lounge and catch a local band. Grab a craft beer at the nearby Smelter Town Brewery. Most mornings, we started our day at Violette’s Bakery Café for authentic French pastries but be sure to check the days and hours of operation.
Cottonwood is a short drive from the casita and shouldn’t be missed. The new Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Winery & Trattoria is all the rage in town and sits atop a hill providing spectacular views of the valley. Last but not least – plan a visit to the Pillsbury Tasting Room to enjoy their wine offerings along with gourmet food by an in-house chef in a fun comfortable setting.
We chose not to fight the crowds in Sedona, opting for the more laid-back towns of the Verde Valley with their fine wines, gourmet food and rich history. We had a wonderful time and plan to return to Clarkdale often.

The place was nicely decorated and immaculate. We found the bed extremely comfortable, and the shower pressure was strong (a minor thing but definitely a plus!). Our host was very gracious and communicated well. Thumbs up on this one in every way!

Clarkdale is the perfect home base between Cottonwood and Jerome! We fell in love with the area after visiting last year and staying in a Clarkdale hotel. When searching for a place to stay the following year, we came across Rick’s casita in Clarkdale and we were enamored with the beautiful pictures and property description of this secluded romantic place close to the Verde Valley amenities. Rick is the consummate host and has equipped his casita with everything you may need and more!

The Casita was absolutely wonderful. It was a great location for all our daily outings to Sedona, Jerome and Cottonwood. The restaurants were amazing and convenient. It is located in a residential area and we felt safe our entire stay. We enjoyed the evenings stargazing in the courtyard. The Casita was equipped for all our needs, the bed was comfortable and overall a great place. Looking forward to spending another getaway here.

This is such a lovely property in a beautiful neighborhood. The casita has everything you need. Every bit of space is carefully designed to make it feel like you are in a big house—there is nothing about it that feels tiny. The host has thought of all the essential things, so you don’t feel like you have to run out to pick up something you forgot (like shampoo or even a cotton ball—I think I also saw a sewing kit in case you lose a button). The kitchen is well stocked and if you wanted to make a meal, you certainly can, but there are so many good restaurants just a short drive down the road. The host was very responsive and easy to reach to let him know we had arrived and when we were leaving, but the stay went so well we didn’t need to call for anything while we were there.

We love this part of the verde valley and this little cabina was the perfect home base. Super clean, super accessible and super close to every place you would want to be, up on the hill
in Jerome, hiking on a trail in Sedona or eating out in cottonwood.
Be aware there is a hot plate for meal prep, no oven or place to prepare more than one pan at a time….not a problem, plenty of good eating all around. Thank you!

The interior of the casita was beautiful with lots of nice features. The high ceilings and the double sided river rock fireplace were visually soothing and seemingly space expanding. The location was handy to both downtown Cottonwood and Clarkdale.
The only downside for us was the minimal kitchen. We would prefer a stove/cooktop rather than the plug-in hot plate that was provided.

First of all, we love Cottonwood and Clarkdale. We used to visit Sedona years ago, but we love these towns. The food especially. Unfortunately our host was traveling and we didn't get to meet him.
