Magnificent!

Food was magnificent! The room and view was out of this world! The staff was so helpful and friendly. The small town is right down the mountain from the resort and is quaint with choices for good beach-front dining.

This is at the ocean. It is far from the main Costa Rica attractions, such as volcanos. So it is best to split your vacation between the two areas, depending on what you want.

Excellent experience - would 100% recommend.

The Villa is amazing - the view is breathtaking, the staff at the bar (Giulia) is so nice and it just feels like a big family. The resort is in nature which is lovely. We also did yoga classes that were included in our stay which is great.

It's not a negative thing but the road to the resort is very steap and narrow so I strongly recommend renting an ATV while you stay there.

Absolutely wonderful accommodation in an incredible location that you won't want to leave.

Absolutely everything. An incredible accommodation in an even more incredible location. But I go in order. Location: on top of a hill, on the very edge, with a spectacular view of the ocean and the town. The room is huge, designer decorated, with glass walls and a large terrace (from which you will not leave). (there is also a jacuzzi). All kitchen appliances, large TV with Netflix (I doubt you'll need it near this view). The bathroom is in style (also a view of the ocean and the place) large and brutally clean. Staff: fantastic. They will make sure you feel fantastic. Food: Great (some reviews write that the breakfast is less good and small) - I DISAGREE. For breakfast, you have exactly the choice you need, in large quantities and all with the highest quality products. (included, coffee, natural juice, sweets, bread, spreads and coffee) - and they let you choose where you will eat - breakfast in the room on the terrace is indescribable.

The hotel ripped us off, honestly:

Service. We had a car accident and despite our best efforts, we could not physically get to the hotel. Yet we were charged full price, and the manager/owner didn’t respond to multiple requests for a refund given our situation.

Vista del Alma was a wonderful place to stay! Everything exceeded expectations from the location, room, views, and food. All of the staff we interacted with were wonderful to deal with and made you feel so welcome!

I don't have anything to say for what we didn't like. Every part of our stay with Vista del Alma was wonderful. Power was lost for the entire town for one night and not Vista del Alma's fault. Staff was very helpful, made sure we had a battery powered light and plenty of water.

If you want privacy in a lovely villa with a great view you may like it here.

Beautiful villa with great view!

The drive up was extremely steep and winding and you had to drive it a few times a day to go to the beach, to town and to the restaurants. The resort had a nice snack bar but no restaurant and a small pool. It was right above the town so there was a lot of road noise. It had no real ambiance.

Superb

We stayed only one night before moving to our vacation rental outside of town. It’s a beautiful hotel near several restaurants, surf shops, and Playa Carmen beach. The views throughout the property, including our room, were phenomenal. Staff were very attentive.

As other reviewers have commented, it is at the top of a VERY steep hill. We had no trouble walking down to the beach (only about a 10 minute walk), but imagine it would be a hot climb up. It was easy to get up the hill on an ATV. The lovely bar serves a small selection of food but a full restaurant would be nice for guests staying for a longer period.

Very nice

The location was amazing and the staff were really nice.

Our Aircondition suddenly stopped working.. That was a bit of a bummer… Also, make the jacuzzi mandatory for all the villas. Incredible experience, but that jacuzzi would have been golden!

Great rooms and view but transport needed to get to the beach.

The room cleanliness, style and the view from the balcony are unparalleled.

The description says a 4 minute walk to the beach but this is not true. It would be around 15 minutes and up and down a very steep hill that is almost impossible in the heat. An ATV or car/taxi is necessary and booking these through the hotel was harder than we expected. It would have been very helpful for the hotel to warn us of this so we could pre-book and have an ATV ready for us when we arrived.

The best stay we ever had!!

I surprised my boyfriend with a stay at Vista del Alma for his birthday and it was truly special. The team is so nice and made sure everything was perfect throughout the whole time of our stay. They even offered us a complimentary late check-out and welcome drinks. The Villa itself is just so beautiful - not to forget the breathtaking view - and there were many cute animals to watch (without them being to close to the room). On top, the breakfast was super delicious and we also really enjoyed the pool area which was very private. All in all, there is absolutely nothing that we did not like about the hotel. If you are looking for a place to stay in Santa Teresa or Costa Rica in general that is truly magical, Vista del Alma is the place to be! We will definitely come back in the future 😊

What a view and experience!

View is incredible, staff is so accomodating and friendly, rooms are gorgeous + have what you need (great bed, shower, etc.), location is up a large hill, but very central in Santa Teresa.

Breakfast was just OK + the hill to get to the hotel is steep (but still only 10 mins walk, or 1 min by car + you get the view)
