About this cottage rental
Mökki is the perfect mix of cozy log cabin and hip downtown life. This charming abode is located along a quiet street - just a block away from main street. It is within a short walk of Grand Marais' restaurants, pubs, shops, sailboat harbor, North House folk school, the Art Colony and so much more.
The space
Mökki, a Finnish word for cottage, was hand crafted by the owner and is a masterful work of art. Enjoy some down time on the front porch or cozy up in the sleeping loft - this place has a lot of charm.
Surrounding the cabin is a large yard with garden beds and plenty of tree cover.
The cabin sleeps 2; there is 1 queen bed in the loft. Please note that the stairs to the bedroom are steep - it is not a ladder so rest assured that the steps can be descended normally, aka by facing forward.
The kitchen is equipped with a two-burner electric stove, a mini-fridge, a microwave, pots, pans, silverware, dishes, and glassware. For your coffee you can choose from a drip cone or a coffee maker.
This snug cabin has all you'll need for your northern getaway.

As guests, you'll have private access to the cabin for the duration of your stay.

A quaint, walkable area, the cabin is nestled just across from the local library and one street away from lake Superior and the old Gunflint Trail road.

Staying at Mokki Dovetail was a dream. You are met with a quintessential cozy comfortable cabin that is inviting in every way. Also steps away from shopping, eating, the lake and cocktails but it’s so peaceful at the cabin we all slept undisturbed. If the Robin has her nest in the porch you will also be delighted to watch their little family grow. I highly recommend staying here and we will happily be back.

If you always wanted to get a little cabin out in the woods but you really aren't an "out in the woods" person, Dovetail is the place for you. Right near the downtown of Grand Marias, it's a three minute walk to the beach, even less time to get to the library, brewpub, and coffeeshop.Our host checked in with us to make sure all was well and was really prompt in returning texts.We'll be back!

Sweet little cabin just a short walk from North House folk school. Has everything you need except the kitchen is too small for an oven. In cooler months, the fan on the little propane heater is a bit loud, but you quickly get used to the “white noise” in the background. We would stay there again!
