This was such a lovely place-clean, beautifully decorated with everything we needed. The host was responsive and helpful when we had questions. Walking distance to Pt. Reyes Station.

We can always depend on the Lavender Cottage as a lovely place to stay in Point Reyes Station. It was only 2 of us this trip, however there is ample room for another couple to share the cottage. And a desk that is large enough to do puzzling together! We love being able to get up early and go to Tomales Point to see the Elk before the crowds push them further out from sight. Also ate at the new Station House Cafe and Hog Island and both were delicious! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful property, Eileen and Martin!

Every detail is anticipated, the furnishings are elegant, the kitchen is stocked to an exactly standard, the garden is serene, and the location is perfect within Point Reyes Village. Easy communication with the owner whose instructions are helpful and anticipate every question. This is our 4th or 5th stay and we highly recommend.

Gorgeous and impeccably maintained cottage. Pretty gardens, comfortable bed, cozy sitting rooms, well appointed kitchen. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Walked a couple of blocks to the delicious bakery in the morning, and to restaurants and shops in the afternoon. Great home base for hiking and exploring the area. Hope to return!

Lavender House was a delightful spot for home base for our family of five (kids 13, 10, 7) to explore the area over our recent Fall Break. Eileen and Martin offered many wonderful recommendations for restaurants and activities that we might enjoy. Communication was easy and they had a binder that included everything we may need to know about the home right at our fingertips. The beds were so comfortable and the home included anything that we may need to make our stay comfortable (fluffy towels, plenty of paper products, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, etc). We enjoyed preparing several meals at home and found nothing lacking in the kitchen. The brie and crackers that welcomed us when we arrived were a lovely surprise. The outdoor space is beautiful. It was a perfect spot to enjoy coffee in the mornings or an evening pre-dinner drink. Our children were grateful for some space to move about as well. The home was an easy walk to several restaurants and bakeries, as well as a small grocery store and a farmer market on Saturday morning. We would most definitely stay here again and are glad that Eileen and Martin share their space with visitors to the area!

One of the best appointed places we have stayed in. Kitchen had everything we needed. Even the knives were sharp! Lovely hot tub with robes provided. Overall, an excellent experience. Travelers should be forewarned that the host requires a $500.00 refundable check to be left on the property in case of damage.

This cottage has to be the best vrbo experience I've ever had. It was better than the pictures! It was beyond clean too. The beds were comfortable, the decor was homey, the kitchen was well stocked with anything you could need, the binder had information clearly written to answer any questions you might have and several highlights of the area. The property was private and beautifully landscaped. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our visit. My grandson thought it would be a perfect place for me to live!!

Our stay was for a wedding weekend in the area and it was delightful from the place (cozy chic) to communication both before and during our stay. The hot tub soothed our weary bones after a long trip to Point Reyes. Well stocked kitchen made us feel welcome from the start. A 10 out of 10. We hope to return! Thank you Eileen!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this attractive and comfortable home in Point Reyes. The gardens in the front and back of the home were thoughtfully designed with flowering native plants that attracted a wide array of birds, including California Quail, CA.Towhee and Spotted Towhee. It was lovely just to sit on the back patio with a cup of tea, a good book from Point Reyes Books, (the wonderful,very well curated local bookstore) and the cool ocean breezes. We look forward to returning again!

We have been staying at Lavender Cottage with our family for years. We love the location (walking distance to the little town of Point Reyes Station), the cleanliness of the home, and the charming little backyard with a table for summer meals and a hot tub. Eileen and Martin are the consummate hosts - they really have thought of everything their guests might need for a comfortable stay. With hikes and beaches and good food nearby we never run out of things to do. There's a great little grocery store (Palace Market) nearby - you'll pay a little extra for the convenience but the quality of the groceries is tops and the Lavender Cottage kitchen is fully stocked and ready for cooking.

This is our second time staying at Lavender Cottage and we loved coming back to a comfortable, kept and inviting space. My kids call it "hot tub city". We enjoy exploring and returning to our favorite Bovine Bakery and local area shops as well as dining al fresco in the backyard and deck. Eileen is a great hostess and communicated all we needed to know to get settled in.

This old house is spotlessly maintained and comfortably furnished. The gardens in front and back are lovely. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided, from the kitchen with its good selection of cookware and basic food items for cooking, to a large and thoughtful selection of books ranging from novels, to works of philosophy to excellent guidebooks about local history, flora and fauna. (Plus some good DVDs!) All this in a quiet location and a very short walk to Point Reyes Station's small but interesting (3 blocks long) shopping district. Our host was always available to answer questions and provide information on where to go and what to see in this gorgeous region of coastal California.

We spent 4 terrific days at Lavender house this spring. Check in was a breeze and Eileen generously provided us with a lovely spread of cheese and crackers. We explored the incredible beauty of Point Reyes hiking on sunny days and also snuggled up inside during a wild storm. The house is beautifully maintained and spotless. The beds are dreamy with luxurious linens. We slept very well. The house has everything one needs - comfortable furnishing, interesting books and games and a very well stocked kitchen. We were so taken with the deep claw foot bath tub that we didn’t get a chance to try to outdoor hot tub! The outdoor space is lovely and we enjoyed some nice meals on the deck. Eileen was a great communicator and available to answer questions quickly. I highly recommend Lavender House and am planning a return trip soon.

The house was smaller and older than we expected but it was enough for 4 people. Only one of the bathrooms has a shower and the kitchen is a bit small and cramped. The dishwasher had a problem and the Wifi unstable at times. The property manager was available and responsive throughput. We all enjoyed the hot tub. Convenient access to stores and restaurants nearby and to the state park. Felt it was a bit pricey for what we got though.

It was very nicely set up, very complete with conveniences and a well-supplied quality kitchen. Just a really nice place, nice vibe and convenient for walking in town or visiting the coast and other Marin attractions.

We stayed at Lavender Cottage during some very stormy weather, both literally and figuratively. The coziness and spaciness of the house allowed for us to feel safe and dry from the rain that fell so hard during our stay. The decor is elegant but personal enough that it does feel like a home vs a hotel. The attention to detail in appointments makes this place a true standout; the owner has thoughtfully curated what is in each drawer, on each surface, to maximize a wonderful stay in the area. I highly recommend this property.

We loved staying at this home. It was centrally located in point reyes station within easy walking distance to everything we needed - playground, grocery store, restaurants, etc. I appreciated that we were on a quiet street, too. The house was furnished with everything a guest could need or want including a lovely welcome cheese plate!

My dear friends and I chose Eileen and Martin’s beautiful property again for our annual reunion/retreat. So good to be back together in Point Reyes and just be together, hike, cook, laugh, etc.
Everything in Lavender House is thoughtfully placed and provided and we had all that we needed to enjoy our stay and be cozy and comfortable.

We like to stay near town so we can walk to everything, then drive to our Point Reyes adventures. We absolutely love this house. It's tastefully decorated and all necessities are supplied. Kitchen is well equipped. Beds are comfy. We also love that the yard is totally fenced, so it feels private. Communications with the host are easy. It's a 10 out of 10!

The Lavender Cottage was most convenient to town and very close to the trails and the glorious beaches we were interested in. The cottage has every amenity imaginable, even a hot tub! We loved it and only wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed for 3 nights during a heat wave in the South Bay. I was worried about the house not having A/C, but it turns out the day time temperature was always around 75~80 degree (night temp was around 65.)! It was great!
The house is very clean and stocked with high-end supplies. It's location is unbeatable for exploring Point Reyes National Seashores and nearby Santa Rosa area. Owners are very responsive in answering questions and you can see many thoughts go into the set-up of the house to make it a pleasant stay. The layout is most suitable for a small family of 3 like us. ( One tip unrelated to the house: cellphone receptions is spotty in the area due to its low development commitment; you are better off pre-download the area map on your google map.)

My husband and I and our son stayed at Lavender House, hiking trails during the day and having a hot tub soak in the late afternoon. The house and garden are so lovely, homey, and comfortable. The host provided spa robes and towels, brie and crackers, a fully equipped kitchen with spices and condiments. The house has a spacious layout and is beautifully furnished. I recommend it highly.
