My wife and I stayed two nights at Lavender Cottage as a base for day hiking at Point Reyes National Seashore The cozy home was clean and well suited to our plans and our needs. Kitchen was well stocked with everything the home cook would need. The pleasant backyard was a fine spot for relaxing after a day of exploring the area's trails. Eileen was delightful and helpful. If we ever return to the area, the cottage would be our first option for a home away from home.

Well-appointed, immaculate home with lovely furnishings, including fine books and DVDs. Beautiful gardens front and back. Hosts provided thorough instructions for all features and answered our messages promptly. Quiet setting with easy walk to town. Wonderful getaway, even for just a short stay. Perfect stay.

This place was perhaps the "best" vrbo we've ever rented for many reasons. The location was superb - within easy walking distance to the small town yet private. The property is totally privacy-fenced and is beautifully landscaped with shrubs and flowers and trees, and a clean and operational hot tub - all very well maintained. The house is totally buff - comfortable, very nicely furnished and decorated, immaculate and also well maintained inside and out. Another outstanding feature is how well equipped it is; we found everything we needed and more in the kitchen and everything was of high quality and in great shape. The hosts have clearly thought very carefully about not only how this house presents to the guests but how to satisfy their needs. The price is what I consider high but primarily because we occupied only one of the two bedrooms - the full bathroom serves both bedrooms so two couples who are "close" could bring the price down per couple. But, despite the higher than usual price we paid we had zero regrets. This place is truly exceptional!

My (adult) daughter and I stayed at Lavender House Cottages from May 6 - 8, 2026 to be near a friend who lives in Pt. Reyes Station. My daughter and our friend have been friends since they were infants, even though we moved to Ohio in 1983. When we had a chance to come to Oakland for another event, we came out before the event in the East Bay, just so we could see her. Then began the hunt for a place to stay.When we saw the Lavender House Cottages, we knew it was the place for us. It was close to our friend and close to town. We could see both the bakeries in town, and walked there easily. When we got to the cottage, VERY late at night, after a late plane at SFO. We found a cheese board waiting for us. Each of us had our own room. Everything was very clean, and the plantings were lovely in both the front and back yards. The house reminded me very much of the San Diego house in which my aunt lived: charming, old fashioned, and sunny. Unfortunately, we did not have time to use the hot tub, but that was because we had so much else we wanted to do in the area.I cannot say enough good about this place.
