Nestled in Nelson Lake, this lovely house for $400 per night is a great option for your next break. This is a lovely, custom home that has won the ASID Design Contest and featured in Minneapolis/St.Paul Magazine. Designed to feel like a cozy Hampton’s Cottage, with lake views from every room. Large adjacent screened gazebo for additional outdoor living. 5 bedrooms with 4 full baths. (3 bedrooms have their own sink in their room) Kitchen with marble island, breakfast area and a hearth stove surround (stove, refrigerator, microwave, trash compactor) 2 wood burning fireplaces and a gas fireplace. The two-story dining room with a dormer is perched above a panoramic view of beautiful Nelson Lake. Vaulted ceilings, charming dormers and a lovely skylight add unusual detail. This serene private setting offers 400’ of private lakeshore. Wonderful fire pit next to the lake, a picnic table, perennial gardens all along shore pathways with a bench to enjoy those magnificent sunsets while listening to the call of the loons in the distance. Terrace and deck with a barbecue. Central air and heat throughout.

One of the best locations on Nelson Lake. Beautiful house and enjoyed the screened gazebo. The lake was clean and nice shallow sandy area for the little one. Nice pier but the water too shallow for us to be able to dock our large boat. Fortunately, the boat launch is nearby. The location is also close to get to the atv trails. Parking good as we had both a boat and atv. The house was supplied with everything that we needed. It was a bit difficult getting in touch with the property manager as we had poor cell reception with our service and she was out of town which she did make us aware of. She was most helpful before our arrival. Upon our arrival there was a musty smell in the house. It aggravated those of us with allergies. After running dehumidifier and air conditioning it cleared up. Would be absolutely perfect if the carpeting would either be replaced or deep cleaned and the mattresses on the main floor in dire need of replacement. Still, we had a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful two week stay. We hosted doctoral students from 4 states the first weekend. Then we had brothers and in-laws for a few days followed by adult grandchildren. Everyone appreciated having a spacious and scenic location to gather.

The house, property, and location on the lake was great. The only downfall was that the house was not cleaned well at all. There were crumbs, hair, and dust throughout the house. We had to spend a few hours of our time to clean ourselves.

Nelson Lake House
We enjoyed staying here. The gazebo was our favorite spot to hang out any time of the day. Very peaceful.
My suggestion for the main level of house is to remove some of the chandeliers and replace with ceiling fans. It was a hot week up there and the AC was running non stop…hard to keep this level cool. Especially at night for sleeping. Ceiling fans would help tremendously to circulate the air. The master bedroom upstairs should have some type of window coverings by bed and sink area. Sun comes up at 5:00am and it’s shining right in the bedroom.

The neighbors and caretaker were all friendly and helpful. The large yard was great for parking our vehicles and trailers. The fishing on Nelson Lake and off of the dock was great. Couple of things to note, there is a resort across the street which caught us by surprise to hear out door music in the evening.
Also garbage cans are small and if filled up expectation is to take garbage to the local dump. Be mindful it does costs $6 per container (we had 2)
The dock area is well kept and nice sandy Beach area.

Beautiful Home, Cozy Winter Stay
This is a lovely, spacious and very well-kept home. It's on a point and has half of the tip and nearly all of one side of that point. So the setting is just beautiful. My wife and I stayed of Christmas, so there was no swimming involved! But we had a cozy stay - just a great getaway. And even if you mostly stay inside as we did, you have beautiful views from every room in the house. Highly recommended.

Fall MEA get-away
We stayed at this beautiful lake home for a long weekend in October. It was very quiet and peaceful on the lake. We enjoyed walks up the road and throwing rocks along the shore. We played catch in the huge yard and had a fire in the fire pit. It turned into a snowy weekend(!) so we only had one outdoor fire and enjoyed playing games indoors next to the indoor fireplace!
This kitchen is well stocked with forks for roasting marshmallows, crockpot (which we used), tupperware, plenty of pans, dishes, and silverware for a crowd. There are also a couple puzzles and games.
The kids were a little disappointed that the gazebo furniture was covered up for winter but it's totally understandable for the time of year--not like we could have enjoyed it on that frigid weekend! It would be a fantastic, screened-in space to hangout in nicer weather!
There is tons of space inside and out and had everything we could need!

Amazing home amid gorgeous Fall colors
This home is so beautiful and spacious, just as pictured in the photos. The beds were comfortable and the fire pit by the lake was a wonderful place for us all to gather after hiking and mountain biking. The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed a birthday tea party in the gazebo. We hope to return some day!

Love this cabin, enough space for everyone. The screened-in Gazebo was fantastic for a place to hangout after putting kids to bed.
The lake level lot is also a huge plus, not having a bunch of stairs! The kids loved catching little sunnies off the dock.
The extra fridge is also very helpful for large groups.

The space was very accommodating for our family of 7. We loved eating out in the gazebo each evening. We all felt the beds could be updated, and bring your own pillows..
If we would have known the yard was as large As it is, we would have brought yard games. Overall, we really enjoyed our family time together here.
