Tranquility Chalet is a peaceful, private lakefront retreat on Bald Mountain Lake, located in the Rumbling Bald community at the North end of Lake Lure. Bald Mountain Lake is a 65 acre private, non-motorized lake. You’ll enjoy fishing, boating (4 single kayaks, 2 SUP boards, Peddle Boat are all provided for guest use). Brand New stone fire pit area at the lakefront! Tranquility Chalet is professionally managed and cleaned with professional linen service. As guests of Tranquility you’ll enjoy access to amenities at Rumbling Bald - private beach, lakefront swimming, two championship 18-hole golf courses, driving ranges, restaurants/lounges, outdoor pool, indoor pool, whirlpool, steam and dry saunas, fitness center, spa with massage therapist, hair and manicure salon, 18-hole miniature golf course, lighted tennis courts, pickle-ball, basketball court, sand volleyball, scenic boat cruises, boat rentals and much more. This beautiful home is amazing and has all the comforts that you have in your own home. A wonderful place to stay for a large family but was relaxing for our group of four. We loved sitting out on the balcony and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. At the end of the day, having a fire down by the lake and watching the geese fly in was sight we didn’t expect as we sat there drinking our hot chocolate. I highly recommend staying at this beautiful home.

Tranquility Chalet is perfectly named. Comfortable, clean, with all essential amenities to relax and have fun. We used the fire pit and even went kayaking. Property management was courteous, timely and provide guidelines to everything one could think of. Thank you for such a fun, relaxing and rejuvenating weekend on Lake Lure! Will rent again!

Over all this is a wonderful property with lots of amenities that cover a wide range of activities and interest. Having the use of the may kayaks, paddle boats and SUPs was a real pleasure and allowed for many on the water adventures, including some great fishing. The property sits at the top of the lake which provides for a million dollar view and the house is fairly secluded giving you great privacy. The fire pit area is a great place to relax and take in the view along with two large decks and a screened in porch...all very comfortable with plenty of seating. The grill was a premium unit and made cooking a breeze. The house is well equiped with WiFi, Internet TV, fully stocked kitchen and outdoor deck speakers...all making for an easy stay. Overall this is a great family or group property with a grocery store about 15 minutes away and Blowing Rock and Linville proper about 20 minutes away. The only call out I would mention is this property is not a deep dock property which makes it not condusive for swimming off the dock since it is very shallow with lots of lake grass. However, this doesn't slow you down from hitting the water on the many kayaks, etc. Another call out is over the parking area is a very large tree that during our early August stay drops very large and heavy acorn pods that did create several noticable hood dents on our car hoods so take notice not to park under them. I should also mention having access to the Club with all the amentities was a great.

We were very happy with our stay at Tranquility Chalet. The house exceeded our expectations. All three of our kids slept in the bunk room. The lake toys were a huge hit and easy for the kids. This was our 2nd time at Tranquility Chalet. We’ve rented many houses over the years for vacations and this is one of the best. Well stocked in the kitchen, comfy seating, multiple gathering areas, lovely fire pit, and enough kayaks and SUP’s for everyone. Sue and Steve are excellent managers and the communication is quick and easy. You get a quiet lake for kayaking but still have Rumbling Bald and Lake Lure for more action! Don’t hesitate to rent Tranquility!

Our party of 6 (including 3 from Europe) were THRILLED with: the 3-story chalet's external and internal beauty, comfort (beds, decks, fireplaces & sitting areas), modern conveniences (kitchen & electronics), peaceful lake view, water toys, resort amenities (many for all ages & interest), and closeness to major attractions (e.g., hiking trails, Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock, and many more). We were nestled in the forest overlooking a small-beautiful lake with a close view of Bald Mountain's rock face. The waterfowl was fun to watch yet calming. The stone and wood architectural refinishing was very well done. Even the professional landscaping is appropriate for the lake-forest environment while enhancing the chalet's appearance and surroundings. Also, the nearby grocery store, Ingles, was amazingly well stocked with great variety in all depts that satisfied our diverse taste palettes (especially cooked on the large BBQ grill). Local restaurants were plentiful. And very importantly, the property managers are professional, responsive, and very nice folks.

We had a wonderful family vacation at Tranquility Chalet. The property is well maintained with beautiful views of Bald Mountain Lake. We had access to our private dock with kayaks, peddle boat, and paddle boards. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked. Better than any rental we have stayed at previously. No need to bring your own pans or items for the kitchen. We enjoyed access to Rambling Bald on Lake Lure, played some pickleball and enjoyed some other activities during our stay. The pontoon boat rental on Lake Lure was great fun for the whole family. Only about an hour to Asheville where we went for a nice meal. Biltmore Estate is close by also. The property manager responded quickly to our needs.
If we were to stay in the mountains again, I wouldn't hesitate to plan our stay at Tranquility Chalet.

We rented the Chalet for a 'girls' reunion, coming from CA CO,CT,NC & GA! I just can't say how much we all loved Tranquility Chalet! From the moment we walked in we could tell it was well taken care of, and very clean. It had the best stocked kitchen of all the places I have rented in the past. We even had a thunderstorm which my friend from CA just loved because she hadn't seen rain since Feb. or been in a thunderstorm since she moved away from CT!! The view was so calming, perfect for sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee or an evening cocktail. I would definitely rent TC again and recommend it to anyone. PS Steve & Sue are so easy to work with and will try to accommodate your needs.

This home has it all! The location is perfect on the end of the non-motorized lake. Being attached to a resort property with many amenities when traveling with children ( and adults who don’t hike or want to get in lake water) is a tremendous bonus. We had everything we needed to enjoy the lake with the provided water craft at the house. It could use a couple child size PFD’s as none provided really fit the smaller kiddos. Bring a fishing rod! Hanging out in the dock fishing was a highlight! Lots of steps from the house to the dock so plan accordingly so you are not hoofing it up and down multiple times. Steep steps from the driveway down to the house, but they built a ramp for those in need. The property could use a few more deck chairs on the main deck are. Perhaps an outside dining table as the whole family like to congregate there. We made it work though. I also Very much enjoyed this side enclosed porch. It became my favorite reading spot.
The inside of the house had plenty of room to spread out. The furnishings were very comfortable. The mattresses were so comfy. I have never slept so well on a vacation. The kitchen is small, but extremely well stocked. I’ve never stayed at a rental property so well equipped. The hot water tank was more than sufficient as multiple people could shower the same time without running out of hot water.
Having a washer and dryer was also great when you were doing things outdoors!
The grill was huge, very clean and most of all actually had gas. We used it multiple times at our stay.
Cell service for calls is a little poor, However, my brother-in-law was easily able to do work via zoom calls and do other internet work reliably.
We all enjoyed our vacation here and would love to come back!! I highly recommend!
The property managers were easily and readily available for questions or concerns. They adressed our needs promptly.

Very well kept property in a beautiful setting. I and my group of friends thoroughly enjoyed our visit for a long weekend. The direct access to the lake and the available watercraft afforded several their first experience paddling and they are now hooked! Buffalo Junction Properties is professional and easy to communicate with, we love them too! They have arranged every one of our Lake Lure stays! We love this home, it offers something for everyone in our family, and this year we had another family join us on vacation (in a different home) and entertaining in the house and screen porch was SO MUCH FUN! memory making stay at TC!

I don’t know how to say enough nice things about this property and our stay here! The setting is peaceful and serene with beautiful views of the lake on multiple levels of the house. The property is beautifully landscaped so even the rooms at the back have a view of a nice waterfall garden! The dock and boathouse were great for relaxing and visiting and the multiple kayaks, paddle boards and boats meant our whole group was entertained. We picked up a couple of inflatable floats at Ingles for when we were feeling lazy and just wanted to float around the lake. The property is close to fantastic mountain bike and hiking trails as well and the amenities of Rumbling Bald (golf, tennis, mini golf, pool, beach, pontoon rental, etc) are only a 5-10 minute drive away. Although many in our group enjoyed staying active, those who just wanted to sit back and relax found Tranquility Chalet to be perfect for that as well. The property managers, Sue and Steve were great with communication and made the process extremely smooth. Any questions we had were answered immediately. We will definitely be back to visit Tranquility Chalet!

We have been coming to Rumbling Bald for the last 10 years. We love it there. Staying at the Tranquility Chalet gave us resort access as well as a wonderful house to enjoy. The view was amazing. There was plenty of room for the kids and all enjoyed the kayaks, sup boards and peddle boat. The house was meticulous and every need was thought of. We did not have any issues. Sue was extremely helpful with check in and check out. We would love to stay here again.

Perfect Friends and Family Getaway
Tranquility Chalet was the perfect getaway for my family and our friends. When we weren’t hiking or hanging around in Chimney Rock Village, we were found on the deck or down at the lake water. It had enough water toys for everyone to enjoy. The house was relaxing and beautiful. I would recommend this property to anyone!

We had a wonderful time at this property on the lake. The views were beautiful from the multiple decks and living spaces. We were thrilled to have the dock with the multiple kayaks and paddle boards to use. The house was spotless and had everything you would need for a home away from home. Communication was excellent with property manager from start to finish. Would definitely stay here again!

My family and friends throughly enjoyed staying at this home. We most enjoyed access to the lake and having the paddleboards and kayaks to use. We spent a lot of time paddling on the lake looking for wildlife. And we spent our evenings on the decks watching the beavers!

The property was well stocked and very clean which is so important these days. We were a little disappointed with the property's lake. It was fine for paddle boarding and kayaks but the kids like to be able to jump in and swim from the dock - too shallow and too murky. Having access to Rumbling Bald made up for this issue with its beach and pool access.

Perfect House for Families
There were 7 of us for this vacation, including 3 teenagers. This house was perfect. Lots of space for the kids to hangout without adults. The lower level had a large sectional sofa with a tv that was used at night but the kids. There was a sunroom that the adults used in the morning for drinking coffee. If it wasn’t raining, we used the deck that overlooked the lake to congregate. We have rented many places over the years, and this by far had the most comfortable seating, including 2 reclining chairs. Even the chairs on the dock were welcoming.
The other amenities in the house were well thought out. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfy (2 rooms with queens, one with twins, and one with a bunk and a twin. Everything was well labeled and explained (the TVs are always an issue for us in the rentals and these came with great instructions). We also made use of the large Weber grill on the deck.
As for the lake, I was concerned that we weren’t right on Lake Lure. But it was a perfect lake for the kids to kayak, swim, and paddleboard. I wasn’t worried about the motor boats flying around them. It seemed like we had the lake to ourselves most of the week. The water was just the right temp for swimming (last week in June). There were enough kayaks and boards for all of us to be on the lake at once.
We also used the Rumbling Bald resort amenities which was a 5 minute drive. The pool was a nice change from the lake. We also rented a pontoon for 4 hours. I highly recommend this to see all of Lake Lure. We packed a lunch, but you can also pull up to the restaurant at the south side (Lake House) and they will bring your food to the boat.
Be aware that there are a lot of stairs and this house may not be good for elderly folks. Lots of stairs from the driveway to the house, and many stairs to the dock. We didn’t mind them, as we felt we were burning off the calories from all the vacation food.
The property managers, Sue and Steve, were very responsive and helpful with suggestions. We lost power and Sue immediately texted with an estimated time. (It was only for an hour or two, but it is common in this area).
My only other suggestion is to make a good shopping list for the week, as the closest grocery store is an 18 minute drive along winding roads.
We had a wonderful week, visiting Biltmore and Chimney Rock, and are already discussing returning next year!

Our only difficulty was with the need to park at the top of the hill and walk up and down the stairs or ramp to get to the house. This would not have been a problem at all except that everyone in our group is over 60! Unpacking and packing the cars with all the stuff we brought was quite a workout. But once we were settled in the house, all was wonderful!

Fairytale stairs
Our family of five, including my elderly mother and two children (9 and 11 yo) enjoyed our stay at tranquility chalet. My daughter described the stone moss covered steps leading down to the property as fairytale stairs, which I thought was sweet and accurate. The home itself is very well thought out, plenty of space to spread out, yet so cozy. Beds and linen were clean and comfy, kitchen well equipped, wifi was excellent for my husband and 11 yo who still had work and virtual school commitments. The best part of the whole experience was having the beautiful lake view and all the water crafts to enjoy. We fished and kayaked daily, took the paddle boat out, and got plenty of exercise going up and down the steps. We would definitely go back!

Tranquility Chalet was a beautiful combination of an older cabin feel but remodeled to make it feel new. It was beautifully decorated but very appropriate for children. We had 4 adults and 4 children under 9 and the layout worked perfectly. The children loved the lake with the paddle boat and kayaks. The property was very private and we only occasionally saw others on the lake. The children were a little disappointed with not catching fish but loved all the geese that visited daily. Even though it was October, two of them swam in the lake. The dock was perfect with a ladder for getting in and out. It was a very clean property with all of the amenities we needed. We traveled into Chimney Rock and Hendersonville for the day. The kids loved Gem Mining. Buffalo Properties was very easy to work with. We would definitely choose this property again.
