We spent three days enjoying this lovely, private home with a large fenced yard for our two dogs. Very good restaurants and a cute little store nearby made it very convenient. Downtown activities were a short drive away. With taxes and fees, it was quite a bit more than the base rental price, but we had a great time, nonetheless.

The house is cute and well appointed.
We appreciated the small fenced in garden and porch for our little dog.
The main issue is the level of noise from the traffic. It’s a main road and during our stay the only quiet evening was when it rained, there were less people driving around with loud music.
Even the rear bedroom is noisy and there’s a need for darker blinds as it’s very bright from early morning.
The host kindly included tray tables for dining on the sofa.
Parking is not onsite and it’s a bit dark to walk to where the car is parked, although close by.
The area feels safe enough to walk but be vigilant.. do bring walking shoes as the main areas aren’t as close as hoped.

Host was attentive but due to lack of sleep, would not stay there again.
Overall a nice stay.

Property was in a great location, perfect for 2 couples and exactly what we needed for our stay. Nicely decorated and plenty of room for 4 adults.

This was our first time to Charleston and we loved it thanks to this property. There were three girls and the house was perfect for us! The location is amazing and walkable to so many different areas and the host was nice an communicative. Would suggest!

Property is conveniently located and provides adequate off street parking, but “right behind the house” is a stretch. Unloading in front of the house is easy and then the parking isn’t an issue. The bakery next door is great and opens early. There are numerous restaurants close by but they are hard to find unless you know about them. Nice neighborhood for walking pets. Front bedroom is NOISY, we had a truck pull in at 3am and seemed to back up for ten minutes, traffic noise is pretty steady all night but tolerable with white noise. The beds are comfortable (back bedroom bed height would be challenging for less able people) and the audio/video equipment is more than adequate. Back yard is also nice. Overall convenient, and the host was very responsive.

4 of us stayed in this charming home and it was a perfect location for us to tour around and visit Charleston. We started each morning with coffee on the front porch smelling Jasmine flowers and the cinnamon rolls from the bakery next door!

Loved our stay at 201 St. Philip. Hostess Lilly was great to communicate with. Very quick to reply! The cottage was so charming with everything supplied to make our stay very comfortable! The location was perfect and the small backyard was great to have for our small dog Knox . Would love to return again someday. Charleston is a beautiful city.

We were really excited about our stay in Charleston. The visuals of the house and description of parking sounded great. We were very disappointed to have to lug our bags to the rental - parking is NOT as close as described. We were also very disappointed to find that simple amenities were NOT included. THERE WAS NO SOAP! SOAP! In the midst of a pandemic, the host did not stock the home with soap. Many other rentals have welcomed us with local treasures - chocolates, wines, notes, etc.... Nothing here. Not even soap! The lock on this house was temperamental too. You have to hold the door just so to get it to actually latch. We struggled with this the entire time. The house appears to have a lovely backyard, but only if you can tolerate high grass and mosquitos. There were also times where we questioned if the house was actually haunted - lights flickered in the bathroom at random times and the microwave turned off and on. This was an expensive rental (about 20% more per night than what we paid in Savannah) and SO much less than what we actually received. I do not believe the on line description is as accurate to what we received. The one redeeming feature was the proximity to the coffee shop next door. THAT was worth it. If we ever came back to Charleston, I'd definitely look for a different rental.

If you want to be able to walk to King St. this is the place to stay. One block away gets you to all the places to shop and eat. Property was just as advertised and stocked with everything that you would need. Our host, Lilly, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience in Charleston! We would definitely stay here again!

We really appreciated the location. Our first night the noise from a party directly across the street made sleeping impossible. Things didn’t die down until almost 4 am. Our host was fantastic and it was nice being able to walk everywhere. Just be cautious of weekend noise in the front bedroom especially.

This is a perfect spot for enjoying all that Charleston has to offer. One block off of King Street. It’s less than a 15 minute walk to the many restaurants and shops along King Street. The property was perfect for our family of three plus our small dog. We have stayed here in the past and will definitely be back!

My husband and I decided to work remote for a month and explore a new city. Found this rental and it seemed to meet our needs which included bringing our dog with us. We could not have been happier with our stay! The property is excellent. The beds are super comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The fenced in yard gives some privacy and was great for our dog. The location is great. We walked everywhere. We got up every morning, grabbed coffee around the corner and took our dog for long walks around the city before we started working. Brown's Court Bakery is right next door and there are so many great restaurants within a few blocks. Lilly is great, our dog loves her, and we will miss her. We can't wait to come back! Important to note - although this property is great for dogs, you would never know that dogs stay here if you weren't bringing your own. It's super clean and the furniture doesn't have a "dog stays here" feel to it at all.

We had a wonderful stay in Charleston, the location is so close to everything! We had everything we needed for our extended 6 week stay. Fabulous restaurants surround the apartments. Supermarkets close by. Just over a mile to the historic downtown historic district. Very friendly and safe neighborhood with awesome renovated homes, shops and eateries surrounding. Our dog had the whole private fenced yard to himself. We couldn’t ask for more! So great to feel to experience this home away from home. Thank you Lilly!

Really enjoyed our stay at 201 St Phillip. Clean, comfortable house with convenient in-town location and the neighborhood is a mix of mostly old and some new. We stayed in the first floor unit and the owner lives on the second floor. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful.
There is a great fenced in back yard for dogs which we enjoyed since there is not a lot of green space in the proximity.
A few things to note: Back bedroom has a very high bed but there is a step stool. As mentioned in another review, the front bedroom is on a busy sidewalk and street. If you’re a light sleeper, you will need ear plugs. There is a wonderful bakery next door to which there are pros and cons. The smell is intoxicating almost 24/7 and their coffee and pastries are amazing! However, they begin work very early and you’ll hear them from the front bedroom. That said, we recommend it.

Had a great first time trip to Charleston staying at this property. As other reviewers have said, the front bedroom next to the street is very noisy and the back bedroom bed is very high for short people or older people to get into. That being said, if we were to stay in Charleston again we would stay here.

We loved staying in Charleston. The house was sweet and we loved the porch. The lactation was great! The only problem we had is the college students returned and it was very noisy early evening until late night.

Just one block off of King. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. There is a night club directly across the street that gets rather noisy on the weekends. Nonetheless we will be back!
